  1. :)) :)) :))
  2. I also had a young woman walk in front of my car yesterday while looking at her phone. I think it was in Crystal Palace Road. She just stepped into the road engrossed in her phone without looking in either direction for cars or bikes coming, and evidently didn't even hear the car.

  4. It's here! It's in! It's standing for four hours before I can turn it on! Hooray! Thanks everybody for your help, they did have a bit of trouble, it was a really really tight fit past the stairs, but hey all good.
  5. That's very sad. She must have jumped. I can't see how anybody could accidentally fall from there. Assuming we are talking about the bridge at this end of the woods? But it surely isn't hard to get down to the area below the bridge to reach her?
  6. :)) :)) :)) There's a thought! I don't think I want the great and good of East Dulwich to see inside my tip of a house though :)) :)) :))
  7. Their pizzas were indeed excellent. There is another thread here, not sure why there are two: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1882194
  8. A Dulwich Arts Centre would be brilliant. What a great idea. ETA: Thanks so much for the information.

It is a nightmare trying to turn out of my road when something has parked at the corner. I thought this was illegal, anyway? Decades ago I was fined for parking too near a corner.
  10. :)) :)) :)) Yes! The cardboard thing has been done and all looks good. The freezer is arriving on Thursday, hooray!! Fingers crossed!!! ETA: Now I've discovered my microwave roof is rusty (I thought it was manky food :)) ) plus my dishwasher only deigns to wash the dishes intermittently. And I've just remembered I threw out my toaster which I got decades ago for a fiver, so I need a new toaster too. Kitchen appliances, eh. First World problems, etc.
  11. There is a white canvas bag hanging on the roadworks barrier outside Hisar. It has some things in eg what looks like an umbrella. Have not investigated closely. Assume someone dropped it and someone else hung it there.

However those of M&S say on the pack "From hens that are free to roam on grassy pasture amongst trees." End of debate :))
  13. Blah Blah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > All I have pointed to is that people exaggerate > when they feel disproportionately outraged. You think he "exaggerated" when he said he saw somebody encouraging two children to ride through a red light? And you think his outrage at that was "disproportionate"? ETA: What would your response have been if one or both of the children had been hit by a car?

It must be a total money pit! When it reopened after the refurb, they were giving away vouchers in the High Street. There were people there presumably from the Co-Op Head Office. We were told that there were "lots of new lines." We walked all round the store and couldn't see any. And now it seems to be even worse than it was before. I would happily shop at the Co-Op (and still do occasionally) if only they would up their game. I can't see how they are managing to stay open.

Dulwich Fox, now perhaps you could post some equivalent pictures of battery hens, so that we can compare the conditions in which they are kept? ETA: At least those free range hens are not confined to small cages. ETA: I would look for some pictures myself, but I can't bear to.
  16. Pretty please :)

Are you suggesting jimlad48 is lying? And two posts about poor behaviour by cyclists which he experienced on two consecutive days hardly amount to an obsession. And you then say "Because their outrage isn't satisfied unless they have pages of agreement from people who accept everything at face value." Again suggesting jimlad48 is lying, and also suggesting that he has posted on here solely in order to get "pages of agreement" from people. What evidence do you have for any of this, exactly?

Co-op free range eggs were not cheap last time I looked. The current Iceland price is good, maybe they are cheaper now than I remember from when Iceland was in Lordship Lane. There is no way I would buy eggs from caged hens, however cheap they were.
  19. I used to think Iceland's free range eggs were great value (if memory serves they were ?1 for six, about the same as Lidl). M&S free range eggs are ?1.36 for ten.

Sorry. ETA: Please don't be offended if it is all above board.
