Damn. Not what I wanted to hear, but thanks!

  3. I have just come across a letter from TfL which I imagine everybody round here got, which starts "Dear resident, We are seeking your views on the Mayor's plan to cut dangerous air pollution in your area by expanding the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ)." Further information here: https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emission-zone?cid=ultra-low-emission-zone There is an online questionnaire to air (no pun intended) your views, but frankly once I started reading it all my head was spinning (and not from exhaust fumes .....)
  4. I do read the Guardian online (and the paper version on Saturdays) but I don't remember seeing that particular article. I'll have a look for it, thanks moondancer.
  5. I know there's a lot of stuff going around, and huge commiserations if you have or have had flu. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a relatively minor virus (I presume) with symptoms of sore eyes, muzzy head, on and off sore throat, on and off runny nose, on and off aches, occasional dry cough, feeling very sleepy and a day or so wiped out in bed? I ask because I thought mine had gone away, and now it's come back again :( I'm wondering how long it's likely to go on for, because my energy levels are really low and I'm finding it hard to get much done.
  6. The other night, quite late, I opened the window because the sky looked a strange colour and I wanted a closer look. The smell of pollution was absolutely dreadful. It seems to me that the situation in London is almost as bad now as some places I went years ago when I was travelling, when some groups of tourists were wearing masks to cover their noses and mouths, for example the outskirts of Kathmandu. ETA: I have asthma, and I am seriously considering whether I want to continue living in London.
  7. That's very intimidating.
  8. Good on you for doing something. Unfortunately in my experience most people just don't want to get involved, even if it is clear that somebody is in trouble :(

  11. Yes :))
  12. Juicypips666 (??666??) seems to have given up on his/her own thread, so maybe we will never know where the dog is ..
  13. Well done DF and everybody who did it. I had a wet January :))
  14. It was really bright earlier, my whole garden was lit up!
  15. If going by bus, just get off at the stop before the lights and cross at the crossing at the lights (I assume from the previous post that this stop is open).
  16. They may be if they go out and leave the dog in the garden.
  17. I saw the piece about the sanctuary. Disgraceful. If there is illegal activity which if I understand you rightly the police are turning a blind eye to (grammar), then cannot the local MP or councillors take the matter up in the appropriate quarters? Or failing that a local (or indeed national) paper?
  18. I thought hunting was illegal? Are they hunting foxes, or some mechanical thing or what?
  19. I don't know about other satnavs, but if you use Google Maps, you can look at a text description of the route before you set off. Or indeed look at the map in advance to see which way it is going to take you ..... And it tells you the estimated length of time the journey will take before you set off ..... And shows you where there is heavy traffic and gives you alternative routes to avoid it. Glad you got there safely in the end :)
  20. Which end of Upland Road is it? ETA: I ask because I frequently hear a dog barking lately, and it's possibly in Upland Road, if it was the end near The Actress.
  21. We realised there must have been a power cut last night because the clock on the cooker was flashing. Thanks for the confirmation!

I'm with Flow and their customer service is very good too. However I do always check out alternatives whenever my current contract comes to an end, and sometimes in between as well.

I imagine if the same people could only see in black and white, they would claim that there was no colour, and anybody who said they could see in colour was talking nonsense. Some people are more sensitive than others.
