Bakerloo line > will get you there. Paddington isn't it? Some of the trains to Oxford are remarkably noisy, and the station at Oxford isn't very conveniently situated unless you are being met or getting a taxi .....
  2. Easy to get to Oxford Street for John Lewis, M&S, Selfridges, Debenhams, House of Fraser etc and Tottenham Court Road for Heals, Habitat etc. No parking (at least not easily) but you can get stuff delivered. Will make you lose the will to live, but so will shopping in Croydon, Bromley or the Purley Way :) Although IKEA and Wyevale garden centre are on the Purley Way :))
  3. Just call the child something you like and which suits him/her. My daughter has a name which was virtually never around when she was born (seventies) but then later became really popular. So even if you are trying to avoid popular names, you may find you can't. But I also wonder why you are asking on here when a quick Google would tell you .....

I wouldn't willingly eat it again (bleurgh). I had oysters in Whitstable. I wouldn't willingly eat them again (bleurgh) I had caviare in Moscow. I wouldn't willingly eat it again (bleurgh). I wouldn't eat any of it again if it was five pounds or fifty pounds. Though if I had liked any of it I would happily go back and be "seen dead" eating it. So how does this fit in with your world view as posted above, Fox? I am neither poverty stricken nor a Millwall fan, in case that helps. :))

  6. Just to note, the stop it starts from at the Victoria end is a bit counter intuitive as it is on the "wrong" side of the road. The second stop is nearer Victoria station but you get less choice of seats :))
  7. End of term school trip?
  8. Agree with you both, Penguin68 and nxjen. Good posts.
  9. Thanks, that's useful to know ETA: Oh. Except that I thought it was for recycling mobiles, as in phones. Duh.
  10. It's getting worse. ETA: They seem to live in a bubble of their own prejudices unable to see outside it. Which would be fine if they didn't constantly post their strange world view on threads discussing local issues. It isn't even funny any more. If they hate East Dulwich so much, and those who live here, why don't they go and live somewhere else?

I absolutely agree.
  12. Just realised I'm going to Canary Wharf tomorrow too. Changing at Shadwell (short walk to different station if memory serves). Picking up new specs, hooray :) ETA: So yes I was probably mixing it up with Canada Water, duh.

    Dogs in Bags

If you read the link I posted, Fox, you will see the original purpose of the bag. And if you read the other posts, you will see another one :)

In Hastings on Sunday I saw a Dachshund ON a bag ......
  15. Yes, pretty sure you can get there direct from Denmark Hill.
  16. I'm with Plusnet and although I'm rarely online at those times, I haven't noticed any problems if I am. Have you asked Plusnet about it? Their customer service is good in my experience. Also, could it be a WiFi issue?

  19. I should think it was two separate meteorites, not the same one reappearing.
  20. I hope they will save the interior.

That is very odd and I think you should definitely report it. Next time there might not be another adult there.
