  1. Did I miss the thread on here about Theresa May? Whose media presence has been notable by its absence, apart from one or two abysmal instances? Or the thread about the present Foreign Secretary's recent performance? And he is, for the moment, still in post.
  2. Are you sure it wasn't a small fox, not a large rat?! I noticed you have been keeping your door open. Maybe it ran in from outside? Maybe wait and see if it (or more) comes back before you take any action?

  4. The nastier posters on this thread might like to take a look at the piece linked to below. https://cookingonabootstrap.com/2017/06/07/we-need-to-talk-about-diane-abbott-now-explicit-content/ Diane Abbott is an intelligent, caring and articulate woman who has been bullied and subjected to vile abuse of the kind shown in that article for years.

That is my (true) response to charity people who knock on my door, plus that I can't give to everybody, and if anybody had enquired further in that way they would (depending on my mood) probably be told to f- off. I think you should report her to Unicef. That is totally out of order.
  7. In the early nineties, there used to be people coming round selling a selection of truly terrible paintings door to door. Does anybody else remember that?
  8. Crikey, hope you weren't posting that from your phone :))
  9. No, it's a scam, see many many previous threads on here ....
  10. Presently in Ulverscroft Road. Just a heads-up

  12. This is at 1.30 today. If you don't want to have to go to Peckham to collect your mail and parcels, come and show Royal Mail your feelings!
  13. There is a protest against this closure TOMORROW in Sylvester Road, but for some reason my post about it has been moved to the "What's On" section. Anyway, more information here: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?6,1824930 It's at 1.30pm and Helen Hayes will be there.
  14. OK thanks!

Thanks, but the Stain Devil I used (there are several different kinds, and the one I used was specifically for tea plus some other things) has made the stain worse, so it can't have been a tea stain or it would have removed it, not turned it yellow! Therefore I don't want to put more of it on ..... Thanks everyone for your help, cannot do anything about it today but will have another look tomorrow .....
  16. I've googled the ingredients, which are: Sodium Disilicate and Sodium Percarbonate Any chemists out there? (My A level chemistry was too long ago ..... :( )
  17. Thanks both, but won't bleach/hydrogen peroxide rot the cotton?
  18. I have a white duvet cover which had two lots of (what I thought were) tea stains on it. I've just used the Stain Devil for tea, and one lot of stains (which were definitely tea) have come off fine, but the other lot have turned bright yellow :( If the stains weren't tea I have no idea what they were, but they were on the top of the cover at the bottom end so must be something spilled (before somebody starts making rude suggestions). Both sets of stains looked exactly the same (very pale brown). Does anybody know what I can do now, apart from bleach which I'm not keen on? It was a new cover, as well :( It must be something which has reacted chemically with the Stain Devil, which (not very helpfully) just says "contains amongst other ingredients 15 - 30% Oxygen-based bleaching agent". I am contacting their customer services but hoping someone here might have some suggestions sooner!

  22. I'd have thought a "professional musician" was somebody who made their living from playing music, but what would I know :))

I agree, that was the way I read it as well, that that was to be the name of the place - "Something Wonderful" or words to that effect.

I've just looked over our running orders and the only band I can think it might have been from your description was a local band from five years ago who to the best of my knowledge no longer exist :)
