Also 185 to Oval (for Northern Line) or Vauxhall (for Victoria Line). 63 (I think) also goes to Oval. Often quicker than going to the Elephant, once you are on the bus, but does depend on how long you would have to wait for it.

Heads up - caller "collecting for football club" ??
Sue posted a topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
A youngish guy has just come to my door with a clipboard and displaying a bag of notes - as in cash (!) He started saying he played for a football club, but didn't get any further because I said I don't give money to people calling at my door. This may - or may not - be genuine, but seems very odd to me. Just a heads-up. I live in the North Cross Road area. -

Was it temporarily extended or something?

That is absolutely ridiculous but no more than I have come to expect, given SSW's modus operandi in the past.

I'm completely bemused by the picture in the attachment. Isn't Mrs Robinson on the other corner of the road? Has the photo been reversed? And sorry, I hadn't properly looked at the picture and thought you were referring to the clothes shop. Hadn't realised that had already been closed.

Cards/Mail being folded through letterbox

What? Annoying to suggest a way you might actually get the posties concerned to stop doing whatever they're doing wrong? https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app/contact#category-tree-after -

Did you completely trust your previous dentist? They are paid for work done. I knew someone who was told he needed twelve (yes, twelve!) fillings, and when he went elsewhere, in fact needed none :(

There was a stall at the Pexmas market selling wreaths for ?75!!! Very pretty wreaths but basically a bunch of twigs. The stallholders had sold out on Saturday afternoon, except for two .... She had had some smaller cheaper ones, but all sold ...

Told by Tesco I'm only allowed to buy a limited amount of soya milk!!
Sue replied to Delainie's topic in The Lounge
That's the sort of thing that would really wind me up, and sorry but it did make me laugh (apart from the bit about the mechanic, I hope you've reported him?) I agree, check with head office. It could also mess up their ordering. Years ago I was on an elimination diet to check out possible allergies, and at the beginning one of the few things I could eat was guavas (as apparently not many people are allergic to these). The supermarket I bought them from must have wondered why there was a sudden demand for guavas - and equally, why the sudden demand stopped once I could eat a wider variety of things. I'm still quite fond of guavas :) But as above, surely drinking so much soya milk on a long-term basis can't be good for you? Have you checked it out with your GP? -

Is the child OK? It must have been quite frightening. -

It's not a real competition, is it. It's television. Sorry to say I do still watch it, though this may be the last time. It's a tired old formula which they've tweaked a bit over the years but not tweaked enough to rekindle interest. As for X Factor, I have never seen it apart from on Gogglebox. Apart from not wanting to listen to crap music, the sight of Simon Cowell's smug face just turns my stomach :( ETA: Mind you, I'm beginning to feel the same about that woman on The Apprentice. Karen Brady?

On a more positive note than having your stomach removed after drinking a cocktail, I'd like to say how wonderful it is to have both Poundland and Lidl in Peckham. Obviously you have to weed out the rubbish, but I've bought stuff in both places which were absolute bargains. And I bought some great thermal tights in Primark last week, too, three pairs for a fiver :)
