Because you haven't actually answered my question. And my post was "predictable" because ..... ? -

Kings is poor xxxxx What a ridiculous generalisation! Are you saying that every department, ward and person in Guys is better than the equivalent at King's? I had absolutely fantastic treatment and care at King's A&E, in fact I meant to write and thank them at the time, but to my shame I didn't. -

But I'd be willing to bet that the forum of which you speak does not consist of members whose main if only thing in common (grammar?) is that they live in roughly the same geographical location - am I right? And I bet it's very heavily moderated so that trolls and unpleasant people are kicked off it at the first sign of not being good-humoured and well-mannered? This forum, because of its nature, is bound to have members with a wide cross-section of views and personalities, and therefore disputes are bound to arise. I think it generally has a good balance - really vile people are banned, but otherwise posters are able to state their opinions freely on the whole. I think that's a healthy thing. It would be worrying if they couldn't.

Leaflet came through my letterbox today for a restaurant in Bellevue Road, Wandsworth Common. There is a picture on it entitled "Fillet of beef cooked live at your table in a fire-heated clay pot." They must have either very small cows or very large clay pots :)) Or else they slice the fillet off bit by bit whilst the cow moos loudly and bleeds all over the floor .....

Article about closure of Hooper's Bar and its future
Sue replied to Sue's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
jimmyraj Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I am always sad to see pubs be converted into > houses, but I have to agree with the owner that I > can't see someone making a viable run of it, so in > this instance would support it being turned to > residential. xxxxxxx Sadly I agree. I think it was not in a good location, and also it didn't really work having music there because of the layout of the bar. People listening to music or whatever were crammed either at one end of the pub or the other, with the bar in between. If there had been a larger separate room than the little snug bar, that could have worked maybe. It also meant it wasn't possible to have ticketed gigs there without closing the whole pub to everybody else, which wouldn't have been a viable option. The Ivy House is also off the beaten track, but is able to have gigs or other events there whilst people not going to them can still eat and drink in the other rooms. I think another problem with Hooper's Bar was that although there were a few attempts at having food there, the food was never very good. -
So dimples, do you think we should just let the sort of comments made by some of the people on here pass without, er, comment? Thus implying that we agree with them?

Oxford Street isn't great, I grant you, but it's paradise compared to Bromley. Anyway, the bus ride up to Oxford Street is quite pleasant. Or you can get the Bakerloo line from the Elephant straight to Oxford Circus. Or train to London Bridge then Jubilee Line to Bond Street. And surely you don't want "major retailers" in this area. Do you? A John Lewis on Lordship Lane? It was places like the ED Warehouse that made (past tense deliberate) it nice to live round here. So, what's going to replace the Warehouse? Anyone know? Let me guess. Flats.

stevie23b Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- da silva good post ! xxxxxxx This was DaSilva's post, for those who have forgotten: "Daily Mail, Mumsnet - I think you might be onto something Pinecone. If I were you, I'd just ignore the EDF's pitchfork-wielding yokels. They just don?t want to have to imagine their cosy, bucolic domain could potentially be disrupted by an icy blast of urban reality - especially when they?re having to fork out so much money to live in this little corner of God?s earthly paradise". I really can't understand why either of you are posting on here, since you both seem to have such a low opinion of other forum members.

Can't remember whether the census figures are analysed down that far, from memory I think it's just for the borough ie Southwark, but it would be interesting to see if that perception is true. I believe Tower Hamlets is the most diverse borough in London, or at least was. Or maybe Newham. Can't remember. -

No right turn into Crystal Palace Road, why?
Sue replied to ponypony's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Because it would cause delays at the lights, as it's a crossroads? It would be another phase of the lights, wouldn't it? You can't turn right into East Dulwich Road coming from Crystal Palace Road, either. You have to turn left and go round the Goose Green roundabout and back up again. -
There's an interesting article by Jamie Hooper in the February/March edition of London Drinker, which also seems to have stirred up a bit of controversy ... Pages 50 and 51, or you can read it online here: http://www.camralondon.org.uk/viewnode.php?id=17734 Admin please move if I've posted this in the wrong section.

We decided probably she was using a breast pump to keep the milk going and that possibly the original baby might now be a teenager (the alternative to the breast pump if said baby was a teenager being too horrible to contemplate ......) -

eberg Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Aren't we all lucky that we don't have to resort > to such desperate tactics to survive eh? xxxxxxx You think it's OK to survive by lying? Many people manage to survive without regularly asking complete strangers for ?25. This country may be going to hell in a handcart, but there is still some remnant of the welfare state hanging on by a thread. Sorry for mixed metaphors or whatever they are. -
Make sure you get one with more storage than you think you'll need. I have an old Topfield (got it free from my daughter when she moved somewhere she had to have a satellite) and it's brilliant and easy to use, and will record whilst watching something else (or record two things at once) but I keep having to delete things I haven't watched because I've got too much on it that I never get round to watching :))
