But BNG the downside is you get to be patronised by John Cleese .....

Shocked to find out he has terminal cancer and a year to live if he's "lucky".. Been a massive fan for years including the science fiction stuff. Very bad news. ETA. www.iain-banks.net

It's usually because you've somehow included a word or combination of letters forbidden on the forum Eg Scun*thorpe Or something like that anyway ..... ETA: without the asterisk, obviously ....

:)) I just ploughed through the full survey (before anybody says the obvious, I'mlaid up in bed with a bug :)) ) Much to my disappointment it shed no further light, just gave me scores for the three separate dimensions and told me the survey results would be published in 2011!!! Oh and it kindly creates for you a coat of arms :) )

Laur Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The space between the two middle windows seem > slightly different? Xxx I'm no expert but the photos seem to have been taken from different distances away which could explain it? But I'm sure there are many similar looking houses so unless the people can be identified it will be virtually impossible to find the right ones :( ETA: Sorry, posted before I saw Penguin's post! -

I always think about Sartre's > quote: "Hell is other people" Xxxxxxxx Unfortunately in houses with adjoining walls you will always hear your neighbours - stomping, screaming, rowing, playing music, TV, whatever people do. If you keep different hours to them then that makes the situation worse on both sides. Live and let live or move to a detached house out of earshot is the answer I think. Normal noises of living in a house are a bit different from major disturbance all night! ETA: And if children are involved then clearly you have to expect more noise. It's unreasonable to expect them not to run about or cry in their own house!

Hey good luck for 9th then Monica!

That's good news Monica. When will you know if you have been successful?

I may be wrong but I thought that due to council cutbacks the Southwark noise team no longer work at night?

I moved to DMC after a bad experience with a GP elsewhere. Maybe Ive just been lucky there so far. -

I'm sure the lovely people at Cheners bookshop in Lordship Lane could help you track it down! They will have lists of newish books, I'msure. They did for me once when Id seen a book review, even though the book wasn't out yet. Though I didn't buy it there blush as my daughter bought it for me for Christmas.Sorry Cheners!

Thank you Chillaxed. I haven't personally had any problems with DMC, but it's very encouraging that they are listening to those who have had and doing something about it where it's within their own control. -
Very interesting thread, thanks for the link to the ratings, I've only just seen it.

Long long time since I've been to Morocco, and I came back needing a holiday :)) but my son-in-law went there a year or so back and told me that they now had some sort of tourist police specifically to stop the hassle?
