Thanks Louisiana :) I see Infinity Foods are mentioned. I find them hugely expensive. My daughter gets a bulk order from them every few months and splits it with friends, but I find I can get most things cheaper or around the same price locally, eg from SMBS.

My congratulations too, I really appreciate your involvement both in matters concerning the community in general and also small personal matters (I don't think I'd ever have got the tree replaced outside my house without your help).

I'd be very happy to come to a meeting to discuss possibilities.

Hope they're cheaper than the Mind shop has become for many things :-S

What supernatural/seemingly supernatural things have you witnessed ?
Sue replied to KidKruger's topic in The Lounge
Just remembered something that happened in the seventies. I had a cat, Woolly, who developed a rodent ulcer (a type of cancer) in his mouth. I can't remember all the details now, but it was spreading so that he had difficulty eating/swallowing, and the vet said that it was not treatable (maybe because of where it was situated) and basically there was nothing he could do. I had some health food magazine or something which I had picked up at the local health food shop, and among the small ads in the back was one for a couple who did absent healing on animals, and because there was nothing to lose, I wrote to them (no email in those days!). I had a nice letter back saying they were "praying for Woolly". They didn't ask for any money. Then the ulcer started to get smaller, and eventually disappeared. The vet couldn't explain it. Nor could I. Nor could my very sceptical ex-husband. -

I wrote to them ages ago about various issues including the lack of free range chicken pieces, but had no reply.

Some friends and I messed around with an ouija board at uni. Long story short, I slept with a Bible under my pillow for months, was scared witless. Would never ever ever do it again. :-S -

Interesting stuff, whatever the explanation :) ETA: Sorry, posted that in response to LegalBeagle's post -
legalbeagle Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Australians everywhere as they face Cyclone Yasi. > Good luck QL. xxxxxx I have a very good friend who lives in the path of the Cyclone, and have just heard that he and his wife have survived the cyclone, as has his house, but his garden is devastated. Lucky eh. They retreated to a motel inland and after the worst had passed it took them three attempts through floodwater to reach the house to check it, not sure when they will be able to return to their home but looks like they were among the lucky ones.

I repeat - facts. ETA: Although there were certainly a lot of unpleasant comments from people who did not want to accept the facts. -

Ridgley Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > We can improve our community with less bitching > and biting on this forum for a start. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sadly bitching and biting are human nature and some people will always bitch and bite whether they are on a forum or not. How others respond to the bitchers and biters is more to the point perhaps. -

I get the > feeling some residents would prefer an empty store > over an evil chain. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXxxx Volunteering is an integral part of the people's supermarket :) That's part of what makes it a community enterprise, surely. The issue of Threshers' empty shop has nothing to do with whether people want a Waitrose, has it? Let's not turn this into another Aspirational Supermarket thread - the issues around Waitrose, M&S etc have already been well rehearsed on James Barber's thread elsewhere.

Also with Firefox tonight, I keep getting timed out before a page has loaded, not happening with any other sites. I get a message "The server is taking too long to respond".
