I can't understand why people continue to ignore his post (no pun intended). Just because some postal workers sometimes do this when they shouldn't does not mean that they all do it all the time, and nor does it mean that it was what happened in this case, because clearly it wasn't.

I suggested you research what they got. Postmen/women's pay and conditions If you would like to work a forty hour week (that's forty working hours) for that level of basic pay, good on you. All the posties I have known have had to do overtime even on top of the forty hours, to make a decent living wage. And as for taking the job as a stop-gap until you find something better - maybe that's the cause of the very problems you are complaining about. Royal Mail spend time and money on training and then people leave. In any work environment, some people will be hard grafters who give their all, and some will be lazy tossers. It's not fair to talk about Royal Mail as if all their employees fall into the latter category.

I understand that because frozen vegetables are frozen soon after they are picked, they retain their nutrients longer than so-called fresh vegetables do. I have also had yoghurt, cottage cheese and mature cheddar cheese from Iceland which have appeared to be no different to anything I'd buy anywhere else. Correct me if I'm wrong, but surely people who buy ready meals do so either because they have no time to cook, because they're too tired to cook after work, or because they've never been taught to cook. Or because a ready meal is cheaper than buying all the individual ingredients, particularly if you live on your own and want to avoid waste.

And what the current working week is? I suggest you do a bit of research on the pay and conditions of posties, and then come back onto this thread and let us all know whether you still think this is so terribly bad - and more to the point, whether you'd be willing to do the job for this pay.

Perhaps the Blue Mountain had run out of their normal organic, free-range milk gathered from a specified herd of local cows, and had had to pick up a pint or two from Iceland, their nearest supplier :))
