It couldn't have been more obvious! xxxxxxx PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE you people who have had stuff opened, you really must report it, there is no hope whatsoever that these thieves will be caught unless Royal Mail are made aware of post which has been tampered with, no use just telling the EDF about it! There are so many people working on the post at this time of year, and Royal Mail need to try to identify a pattern in who may have handled items reported lost or interfered with. Once they have done that, they have ways of trapping the people concerned.
  2. "This video is not available in your country due to copyright restrictions" was all that came up for me :))
  3. I think it's great the buses run at that time, sorry. We don't all work 9-5 or get home by 11pm if we have an evening out. And after all, East Dulwich Grove is a main road in London, not a little side street in the country.

  5. Hmm, have sometimes spent what seemed like hours changing trains at those stations. Advise you to treble check connections first - and check you can return home the same way at the particular time you want to do it.
  6. brewski Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It makes me cringe every time i > pass! xxxxxx Same here. I think they're awful.

  9. Actually my tree usually dresses on the left :))
  10. Night and Day does not seem to naturally follow from Honaloochie's post? :)
  11. You absolutely need to report that. They can't track who is doing it unless enough people report stuff that they can find a pattern in who has handled the items.
  12. I Never Promised You a Rose Garden - Lynn Anderson :-$ edited to say: Reetpetite, didn't you skip a post???
  13. Orange slices dried out over the radiator on a disentangled wire hanger, cinnamon sticks, both the former hung on natural twine, green ribbon, cream ribbon. White lights. Star on top. But don't listen to your family, coloured fairy lights are definitely back on trend :)
  14. monica Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Do you think they would > play for the parade? xxxxxxxx Bellowhead? Yes if you've got a few thou for the fee :)) Edited to say: Cheers MicMac, I am technologically challenged as only a person who didn't know there was a WiFi switch on the side of her laptop can be :-$
  15. COOK A GOOSE??? Wash your mouth out :))
  16. Love and Marriage - Frank Sinatra
  17. I can't even get BBC4, got to get my brother-in-law to record it onto a DVD for me :-$
  18. Sanne Panne Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > I've also noticed several Christmas cards > > part-opened over the past few days. xxxxxxxx How are they part-opened? Surely to see if anything was in them (eg money) you'd have to open them completely?
  19. You should come to the Mag more often, you missed our great version of The Wayworn Traveller :)-D Bloody hell that was lounged a bit quick :-S
  20. For further details about theBBC4 programme next Thursday click here
  21. Stars of Stage and Screen, your very own local folk promoters sing Shepherds Arise, accompanied by Bellowhead and sundry others. Strange how we only got around five seconds (erm. Edited to say, around two seconds), but you can see our moment of glory (or see us disgrace ourselves, you decide) around 2 mins 15 seconds into the following:
  22. Bic Basher Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > It's a potential muggers paradise with these early > winter nights with no lighting. xxxxxxx Yes exactly, but according to notices at the gates it's supposed to be locked at dusk - so why isn't it?
  23. I always get it, I live off North Cross Road, and I do actually find it useful :)
  24. Glad to in the new year, but Southwark Council horticultural/park staff will be well aware of the criteria, and I am currently laid up with flu/flu-like symptoms :-$ But if Sainsbury's are responsible for this park, would there be any grounds for getting them to improve it? I think it's quite a well designed park, clearly designed for low maintenance for obvious reasons. The main problem apart from lack of lighting at night is that the designer didn't foresee the straight "desire line" which right from the start people used to cut across the grass taking the shortest route, and has now been made into an unfortunately placed "proper" path.
  25. Someone I know (not a million miles from FlapJackDavey's flatmate) put a large plastic crow on his balcony, with black feathers glued all over it, to deter pigeons who were nesting on the balcony. Sadly, real crows attacked it and pulled all the feathers off :)) If squirrels have predators you could try something similar ..... Something to deter them I mean, obviously, not to cause them physical harm ....
