  1. At the risk of being a total bore, I just wish to share that I have seen neither of "my" foxes since Thursday morning and I miss them :-$ And Helena H - :))
  2. Last Train to Clarksville - The Monkees :))
  3. ???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Stella 4% - enough said, cooking lager ain't worth > ?2 a gallon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ?2 a gallon? Surely the cans aren't two pint cans? Oh hear the brain cells creaking in my skull :-$
  4. Iceland have got four pint-sized cans of proper Stella for a fiver, but my brain's deteriorated too far to work out whether that's better value than Bossman's six smaller cans for a fiver or not :))
  5. Smiler Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It takes ages to drive to Wickes/Homebase in > Catford and the B&Q in West Norwood is rubbish. > Good to have local place. xxxxxxx Not suggesting you use them, but there's a Homebase on the way to Penge (up Sydenham Hill then turn left and immediately right down by the side of Crystal Palace Park) and a big B&Q on the Old Kent Road.
  6. I'm having it. I had the ordinary flu jab last week (have asthma so high risk) but the GP didn't have the swine flu vaccine in yet.
  7. BBW came up to me in a shop and said he knew who I was because he had tracked me down from the ED forum to my Facebook page. It made me feel quite uncomfortable as I haven't posted the Facebook link anywhere and nor is my surname anywhere on the forum, so he must have gone to a lot of trouble to do it. I think it's rather strange behaviour to go to such lengths to find out about someone you haven't even met, and I'm with dulwichmum on this one.
  8. Smokestack Lightnin' - Howling Wolf
  9. A place which women can unwind? Will it be knitted?
  10. No, I don't want resident's parking either.

  12. Monica this is brilliant, don't know how you find so much time to do all you do though, but it's great that you do :)
  13. Was there not a council consultation a year or so back on residents' parking in ED, or have I imagined it?
  14. This happened to the old grandmother of an ex of mine, but in that case then guy knocked at the door, looked at what she had in the house and bought a load of stuff from her at far far less than it was worth :-S
  15. Three bottles of wine for a tenner at Iceland, never mind the quality :)) Anyway it is the mulled wine season now, nothing that a load of brandy, citrus fruit, spices and heating up can't fix :))
  16. ruffers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Decent Chinese and a men's clothes shop. > > No, I haven't read the thread. xxxxxxx Isn't there a men's clothes shop on that road that goes up to the station?? But on the other side of the road to the station? Or have I not noticed that it's disappeared, quite likely :)
  17. Erm, now I have two foxes. Possibly there were always two foxes, but I only saw one of them at a time ....
  18. Gimme Wrote: > > Among other things we did yesterday on the ED food > scene: > Bought a delicious leg of venison (Muntjak deer) > from Sparkes for ?9 > xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx One of my most treasured memories is being face to face with a couple of Muntjak deer in a little wood near Oundle :-S
  19. I just had a look and I think it's just childish and pathetic, but then what would I know
  20. Shame they didn't make it into a bigger Primark, the one in Peckham is tiny :))
  21. :))
  22. OMG I used to live in South Norwood, its only saving grace was that it had a station with fast trains into town :) Oh, and a lake.
  23. Mark Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Check to see how long the underpinning's > guaranteed for, it maybe quite a while (ours is > guaranteed for 25 years). xxxxxxx That's OK as long as the company who did it doesn't go out of business (as a surveyor advised me re a damp guarantee on a flat I was going to buy once)
  24. Surely the "quite sad" remark was not about Threshers closing down but about someone being out of a job. She will probably only get statutory redundancy if anything, which won't last her long, and then what?
  25. karter Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Somerfields seems to have alot more co-op products > in-store. When will it be transformed though, if > ever? xxxxxxxx I was in there yesterday and could find hardly any organic veg, though they used to do loads, and they still don't have FairTrade wine, however it's a hell of a lot better than it was with, as you say, a lot more Co-op products, hooray!
