  2. chica1 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > How about a travel agency? There is still one at the ED end of the main shopping street in Peckham (can't remember its name, Rye Lane?) on the right hand side coming from ED. At least, I think it's still there. I'm amazed how any of them stay open these days of the internet.
  3. Bossman, despite its appalling name - for a great range of real ales, and yes, Stella at a fiver for six - the Greek deli also does it, but further for me to carry it home :)) Edited to change it's to its - OMG I'm slipping, how did that happen :))
  4. Cassius Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > How long does it last - this is my third day of > cramping and slight fever? xxxxxxx Seems to be very variable in both intensity and duration. Don't understand those who can't see the point of this thread - I thought I had food poisoning when it started, then I thought I might have something else wrong with my eyes. It was comforting to find that other people had the same symptoms and it was all part of the bug. If you don't want to read the thread - erm, then don't. Same as I don't read the threads on the forum which are of no interest to me :) I don't post on them making rude remarks about why the thread is there and the characteristics of the people posting :) The forum would be pretty clogged up if everyone did that, innit :))

  7. Hey get well soon. I had to miss my first Goose gig ever on Friday night, but sod's law by Saturday I was fine. Seems to have hit everybody a bit differently, my daughter reckons she only had it for an hour :))
  8. I like the Palmerston as a pub, but I've also queried my change a few times because of the prices. I've eaten there three times, and each time there was a vague disappointment about the food given the prices charged. It was OK but somehow could have been better. But their weekday lunches are good value I think.
  9. Just as a comparison - I ate at the Mag yesterday. Obviously a different type of meal, but the green salad consisted of many different kinds of small, very delicious green leaves, with an excellent dressing. Not a large pile of huge undressed oak leaf lettuce leaves taking up much of the plate. And the juice bar is next to and (I think) run by a greengrocer!

  11. Oh no, just heard I gave it to granddaughter 1, causing her mum and dad to have to spend two days reading endless books to her and watching reruns of Charlie and Lola :-$
  12. I guess a read of this forum will tell you that :) Everything you ever wanted to know and more :)
  13. Didn't take them as scaremongering myself, no probs :)

  15. No definitely not dengue fever, my ex had that in Malaysia following a dodgy mosquito net in some vile hotel in a city in Sumatra (country dropping) whose name escapes me but where I never want to go again, grammar, and was very much iller than this! I'm not worried about any of it, just interested to know whether anybody had had the sore eyes as part of the other bug. But thanks all :)

  20. But have you had sore eyes too?
  21. Starts with stomach cramps, then feeling very sick. OK could have handled that. Thought it was something I'd eaten till I heard from a work colleague it was a thing going round. But very sore eyes?? Headache? Is this part of the same bug or just some horrible coincidence? May have to miss my first Goose gig ever :-S:-$

They were old fashioned grocer type shops selling cheese, ham etc cut at the counter. If my ailing memory is correct. I never knew the one in ED but I do remember them in Streatham, don't know if they were just a Sarf Lahndon thing or national. Anyway, I could never understand why Thistels wasn't called Thistles, particularly as it had pix of thistles around (and presumably Le Chardon still does ..... )
