  1. Due to circumstances outside our control, the Goose will no longer be having events upstairs @ edt. We are moving to a new venue at Dulwich Hamlet FC Clubroom, next to Sainsbury's on Dog Kennel Hill (see separate threads in the What's On section). The EDT sold somebody three tickets for the Dick Gaughan gig on 14 November, but did not take a contact phone number or any other details, and their name is also illegible, so I am unable to contact them to inform them of the change of venue. If this was you, or if you know who it might have been, please could you contact me by a PM here or via our website www.thegooseisout.com - thanks :) Admin - sorry if you think this is in the wrong section, but I'm not sure where to put it to ensure that people see it.

  3. A few years back I had the worst paid-for meal of my entire (long) life, bar none, at the Dog. Sunday roast. Looked lovely before you started eating it. Every single part of it was horrendous. Without exception. If the Plough has the same owners, then this may explain a lot about the food at the Plough .....
  4. Yes, the quietness has been really noticeable, hasn't it - bliss :)
  5. Really? I would have thought she'd have dealt with all her correspondence immediately and personally, with an individually tailored reply to each punter :)) Shan't vote for her again then :))

Hon. Tessa Jowell MP xxxxxx I had exactly the same email from Tessa Jowell a week or so back :)
  7. Maybe depends on day of the week and time of day you hire it? I think they charge by the hour, too, so may depend how long you want it for.
  8. St Thomas More Hall would be a great choice for the dancing part, but you have to pay for the hire of the hall and the bar staff, and then get someone in to do the catering I guess .....
  9. No station within reasonable walking distance, only two buses - depends what you mean by good transport links, I suppose. I'd say that wasn't great for London ......
  10. The Ivy House isn't very easy to get to, though I agree it's a great venue. It's not well situated for public transport.

Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I went there (The Mirash) last Sunday night and > very enjoyable it was too. xxxxxxx I ate at the Mirash for the first time ever on Friday night, and thought the food was very poor. Soggy tasteless pilau rice, tasteless lamb dish, large dry chunks of paneer in the sag paneer. Wouldn't go there again. And the seats were extremely hard and uncomfortable, which didn't help!
  12. Thanks! Did try both spellings ....
  13. Maybe they are one of the McCanns
  14. Erm, what's a tetrapack, just Googled it and still have no idea :) Some sort of container??
  15. I expect Sainsbury's will be able to tell you :)
  16. It's sometimes difficult to ensure that everywhere is adequately covered for a reasonable length of time because of window cleaning - posters get taken down and then aren't put up again. Or maybe that's just what they tell us :)

It is really annoying when people > correct people's grammar on internet forums such > as this. xxxxxx Doesn't annoy me if people correct my grammar, or indeed anything else, on a forum, and I'm sure I can't be the only one :) so if you mean it annoys you, please say what you mean!

These are dried up crunchy spicy broad beans, and don't taste anything like broad beans, so I can't see the point of them, but hey ho, each to their own .....

  20. The Goose was there and had a good time watching the dogs and the Punch and Judy :)) We'd like to see some ferret racing like they have in Dorset :) It would be great if it could be expanded to have more stalls, but I guess you are limited by people coming forward. Shame the weather was a bit rubbish, so we ended up in the Clock House having a delicious meal despite our hangovers. We'd be happy to put on some live folkie music, DJing or maybe morris dancing if you like next year - get in touch!
  21. Not posting this for the time being - sorry.
  22. Asset Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think the deal is first friday of the month for > forum drinks xxxxx Oh bother, so we are also going to clash next month? Date is already advertised :-S and we'll miss going to the lovely Rose's new place if it's going to be the Mag :-S
  23. Hey, sorry to interrupt, but don't want to start another thread just for this, and don't know who to PM. How are the dates of the forum drinks fixed? We sadly found out that our Goose gig at Hoopers tomorrow clashes with this month's drinks (and we'd have loved to have come, especially as we have now been to the Duke twice and really like it :) ) Our next night at Hoopers is on 3 October - and we already have the artists lined up - is it at all possible to have the forum drinks on another night, so that people who want to go to both can? And then maybe liaise in the future so there aren't clashes? You were there first - we'll fit in with the dates you want! Forum drinks are great :)
