I normally get my prescription medication by post, but I needed to get a one off today. Having tried two pharmacies which didn't have it, I went to Sogim in Lordship Lane. I handed in the prescription and asked if they had it in stock, as if not I would try somewhere else. After about half an hour (sic) during which a stream of people came and went, several with issues concerning the non ordering or non arrival of their own prescriptions, and at least one reaching the end of their tether, I was finally asked my address and a package handed to me. Having gone a little way down the road, I glanced at the package label and found I had been given someone else's prescription. Same first name, completely different surname and address, and - obviously - the wrong medication. What on earth is going on here? What is the point in asking your address if it's not actually checked before they hand over the medication? Why were about two thirds of the customers there with complaints? What other mistakes might be being made which could have more serious consequences? I'm interested to know if anyone else has had a similar experience or if I just went in there when they were having a bad day. I will never use Sogim again unless I absolutely have no choice 🙄 Oh, and parents. If you are going to let your child put a toy from the bin by the counter in their mouth, blooming buy it, don't just put it back in the bin and give your child another one. And then let your child do the same with about three other toys 😡 and buy none of them And yes, I did say something to the parent. The assistant didn't seem in the least concerned. Rant over.

We've been getting Wagamama deliveries from the Forest Hill kitchen, and they have been excellent. But I hope it won't affect Monkatsu's trade, because I really like their food (though haven't tried the sushi).

Is it possible to have a second forum name which my partner and myself could both use specifically to post information about our Goose Is Out! events? We aren't a business as such, but we would like to separate it from our personal posts on here. Is that allowed?

That pic at the top is not of Martin Carthy, obviously! It is of Dave Swarbrick (R.I.P.) and Jake Wilson at a Goose gig long ago, and is at the top of our WeGotTickets page which has tix for all our gigs on sale!!! Edited: The pic has now been changed (as has the pic at the top of our WeGotTickets page!)

Really liking the changes, and the app is great! It all looks so much better, and I'm finding it much easier to use than it was. Thank you for all your hard work x

Foxtons on Lordship Lane soon to become a Poundland Local

Bit disappointed. I bought a pack of mealworms for the birds for £1, which was good value. I was hoping for some more interesting non (human) food things. I bought some nice multicoloured rag rugs once in one of the Peckham pound shops. And I needed some of those round flat batteries, but they were only selling them in mixed packs of different types. I might go in occasionally for a wander to see if there is anything of interest (to me), but I wouldn't go there to shop on a regular basis. Also, every time I pass, the shelves facing the windows seem half empty, which seems odd for a shop which has only just opened, unless they have sold more of some things than they expected. -
Thanks, I got the P13 to Streatham before I saw this. But if the the Butterfly Walk Superdrug opens on Easter Sunday till 4pm, I will bear it in mind for the future (though hopefully I won't need it!)

I've been given a prescription this morning and told the nearest open pharmacy is Westbury in Streatham. I know it could be worse, but does anybody know of anything open nearer? I've tried googling but haven't come up with anything.

Looking for old photos of local locations.

The Magdala became The Magnolia, then it was briefly The Patch before it became The Lordship. -

He was still around a few weeks back. Hopefully he still is! -
Thanks Sephiroth. I am using MailerLite now, which was recommended to me, and I've just sent out our first newsletter from there. It isn't ideal for various reasons, and it's a bit of a steep learning curve, but I'll wait and see how it goes. I haven't heard of Substack! I will investigate!

And this response exemplifies my point about pretentious yuppies. Rather have a coffee than a multi pack of hula hoops. May I make a suggestion to any yuppies reading this? Invest in some instant Nescafé granules if you’re struggling that much. Then you can get one of the hula hoops multi packs too. Can afford an expensive coffee and then moans about mortgages, child care costs and rents. Hilarious, so full of self importance. Louisa. Ugh. Same old same old. Can we relegate Louisa to the Lounge again please Admin. She was allowed back if she didn't just regurgitate the same, stale vitriol. She's like Wolfie Smith but without the wit or self awareness. Agreed. It's been going on ad nauseam for years. She once announced she was leaving and never coming back. But no. She saw an opportunity to have another go at the people living in this area who she appears to hate so much. -
How about the skate park by the old Harvester? When there are people there using it, obvs! There is a little veggie garden at the back of it, too.

Not unless you're at least 100 years old. I'm not 100 years old (yet) and I remember that. There was a great outcry, and a condition of the Sainsbury's being built was the park in front of it. Massive traffic jams were also predicted, with the cars going to and from Sainsbury's, delivery lorries etc. The massive traffic jams never happened, and although I was against the development, I actually think the park is better than what was there before. -
Great picture, but it isn't East Dulwich is it? Or is it?
-
Yes, it's the church at the top of Barry Road, so almost opposite the library. Can't remember its name but it has a cafe and a little fairtrade gift shop.
-
As you come up Barry Road from Peckham Rye, there's a great view of the church at the top of the hill. Must have driven up there hundreds of times and only really noticed it a couple of weeks back.

Sorry, I don't get this. So you think other local supermarkets sell crap biscuits, crisps and cakes. But you will buy crap biscuits, crisps and cakes in Poundland because the crap is cheaper there? Sorry if it's a silly question, but if you think it is crap, why are you buying it?! I thought you were moving to Bromley, btw?
