But surely it can't be a huge time consuming task to get a search warrant issued? Because although it would seem a relatively small thing they were looking for, it probably wouldn't be just one phone they found there, unless they were all passed on elsewhere very quickly.

I get that with the reduction in police numbers, those who are left have to prioritise the type of crime they choose to investigate/deal with. What I cannot understand is why - when there is clear evidence of the whereabouts of a stolen item - they cannot go to that house, search it, and ask questions which might well lead to any other people involved being caught as well Is there some aspect of police process which prevents them from doing this? Or do they think the phone by the time they get there will no longer be there? I saw a photo recently online somewhere of hundreds of stolen mobiles which had been found in one house, so presumably the police had some kind of lead in that particular case?

No of course they shouldn't, but if you are really unhappy with a service and nothing improves when you (and others) complain, then an obvious option is to go elsewhere rather than stay in a bad situation. Especially where your health is concerned.

To be fair, which I know is difficult in this situation, a GP will presumably have a certain amount of time allocated to different tasks within a day, and extending the time for a prescription check in order to discuss other things as well would affect their whole day's timetable, including time already allocated to other tasks and patients. There must be other practices within the same catchment area which people unhappy with this one could join? I can't understand why people aren't leaving it and going elsewhere. It's a very easy process.

Is all this solely down to James McCash? And do you have evidence that he has "utterly disregarded" the needs of the groups of people you name? That seems very harsh. Or has he balanced those needs (or tried to) against other needs? To be clear, I know very little about his recent behaviour, so I am not taking sides here. He just impressed me when he first became a councillor.

There was a mass exodus from the local Labour Party meetings soon after Keir Starmer took over (including me). I believe all or most of those who stopped going to the meetings also gave up their Labour Party membership (including me). I'm not sure how relevant this is to the thread (I'm sure admin will act accordingly) but Starmer has moved Labour so far to the right, amongst other things, I am not sure that I can bring myself to vote Labour at a general election. So (coming back to the topic of the thread) I am pleased to see someone active in local politics who still seems to stand for what I have always naively thought the Labour Party was supposed to stand for.

I often see swifts over my house and garden in the Summer (Ulverscroft Road) but sadly the front of my house isn't suitable for a swift box. I did once investigate putting one up at the back myself, but I never got round to it, and unfortunately it's not very high on my present list of priorities 🙄 I do hope someone else nearby will have one installed. Fingers crossed!

This is a stupid question, but has anybody raised these issues with the GPs at the practice? Are they aware of the situation, and if so isn't there some pressure they can bring to bear to change it?

I just opened Firefox on my laptop, and all my tabs and history have disappeared. Including all my emails 😮 Tried to restore them and nothing happened. There is a new folder on my desktop called "Old Firefox Data' with a load of incomprehensible (to me) files dated today. Can anybody shed any light? 😮 Googling hasn't brought up anything useful, but I haven't searched very hard yet. I can access emails on my mobile, but this is very inconvenient!
