If that's to the West it's too far out of my way. I tend to head East. The roundabout doesn't bother me as much as the Walworth Road, especially on the way home between Coldharbour Lane junction and Kings. Charlie
  2. The Copyright issue is a big one. I have found that the general public doesn't have much understanding of the law and as a result online debates around internet piracy focus on rubbish arguments based on half understood legal points. On the other hand Scrabulous is great. I have won every game I have ever played after reading a Mockney Piers thread on the merits of cheating. Charlie
  3. Gears were invented for exactly this reason. Hills and gears go so well together. I tend to go round Denmark Hill now and take a longer route through Peckham Rye avoiding the crazy Elephant bound traffic. Charlie
  4. Show us a picture. Is it a Colnago frame with the grooves in the top tube? Don't get it refinished unless you can find someone who has previously done one and can show you the results. A well finished frame is one thing but to re do all the graphics can be a difficult thing. Charlie
  5. Shameless self promotion it may be but this blog on Cuban posters is excellent. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/charliemoseley/GoAmericanGI.jpg http://cubanposterart.blogspot.com/ Charlie
  6. No, the issue is that Silvester Road sorting office is the root of all evil. Parcel snatchers! If anyone has a Ford Sierra Cosworth brake master cylinder wrongly delivered to them please let me know. There's now two missing in the system. Charlie
  7. Yeah, I've called. I'm going there tomorrow too. Charlie
  8. Has the sorting office on Silvester Road returned to its old ways of not delivering packages? Countless items that I am waiting for have not arrived and should be here by now. Which budding journo wrote this up last time? They are definitely up to no good and need some encouragement to get their deliveries running again. Charlie
  9. I saw a pink thing flying sedately over Peckham Rye saying oink... What ever could it be? Charlie
  10. And it's a chain! The scourge of East Dulwich. Charlie
  11. Wow! A local Cuban poster fan. That is a coincedence. All the posters on the site are mine. I added a few more last night. Send me a PM and we can get in touch. I'd be interested in seeing what you have. Cheers, Charlie
  12. Thanks forum for the link. http://cubanposterart.blogspot.com/ http://my3.statcounter.com/project/standard/graph_summary_barchart.php?rand=2071496079& This is my site. I have posted it here before. I have been collecting Cuban posters for 10 years. Hope you like it. Charlie
  13. Dwarves! Armed dwarves. Dwarves with arms. Brrrr! Makes me shudder it does. Charlie
  14. I have fond memories of the American tour of Give Us A Clue, especially when the cast was invited to perform at the White House. Who can forget the sight of Una Stubbs, her arms working like hammers, as she pulled off All The Presidents Men... in 90 seconds.
  15. Had dinner there the other day and thought it was pretty average. Decor has a touch of B&Q and the food was OK. Bit overpriced. The bruschetta bread was soggy and cold. Pizza dull. Chicken OK but surprisingly expensive. Waitresses and manager friendly. Wouldn't go back. Charlie
  16. Crash, people on island, more people discovered, number of mysterious goings on, people trying to find island, people trying to escape from island, people trying to hide island, time shifting, black smoke, a bear, pregnancy issues, crash covered up, crash discovered... It's the last episode on 29 May. TBH you should really start at the start. 1.1 is where it all began. It is shit but I love it. Can't you just enjoy it without asking why? Charlie
  17. Ulrich Schnauss is a good recommendation - A Strangely Isolated Place is the one to go for. When people recommend stuff without links its a right pain. So here is some Schnauss you can hear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF9Ckp3AE3M Old Kraftwerk is great but Computer World is really great. Here's Numbers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InUw3FZy4dw Royksopp's album was nice: Soulwax are good - but you'll need to download their DJ sets. This is their not yet out remix of the Rolling Stones. It rocks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWtbp3KRFgM I love a DJ outfit called Kitsune. They have a load of compilations that are all good. Go to Amazon to hear previews and see their releases. They go for the house/indie/nu rave/punk funk vibe. This is one of their choices: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxYM2C1gmS0 There's soooo much out there that it's difficult to know where to start. Enjoy. Charlie
  18. Obscure yes, and you'll have to forgive me for a bit of shameless self promotion. I have started my blog about Cuban posters. It features posters from Cuba - film posters, political posters, cultural posters. All mine. Collected over the past 10 years. One day I'll have the time and energy to organise an exhibition. For now the blog is the exhibition. Here it is: http://cubanposterart.blogspot.com/ And here's an example of a nice Cuban film poster: http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/charliemoseley/TierraenTrance.jpg Thanks for your time. Charlie
  19. A statuary declaration doesn't cost a fiver, it is free. You don't have to pay to stand in front of a magistrate to tell the court that you have not received any documentation relating to the offence. I have made three in my life, one of which was last week at Camberwell Green magsitrates. Charlie
  20. You paid ?650? Jesus. Obviously its a bit late for advice but you should have asked the bailiff to tell you which court issued the ticket then spoken to the court and arranged to appear in front of the magistrate to make a statuary declaration. Takes an hour or so and you could probably have got the bailiff to leave you alone with a call to the court. Charlie
  21. I've been having a little trouble recently with: Tsaoische (sp?) - the boss of Ireland. I see it written all the time but how do you pronounce it! Beatific - Be Ah tific? Not Beetific. Eh? Why? Religious thingy - Diocese. How is this one supposed to sound? And hyperbole - that's an annoying pronunciation. Oh, and Beijing in Cantonese is "Bah Ging" and in Mandarin "Bay Jing/tsing". In English I'm sure that either Zj or J pronunciation is cool. Current pet hate is leverage with lever rhyming with trevor. It is LEEEver! Oh and Process rhyming with crosses. It is PrOHcess! It's American business speak leaking into my office. Charlie Charlie

The best advice would be to go and see a good lawyer. And take any legal advice on a sensitive matter like this from a forum with a pinch of salt. Charlie
  23. I've made some bets at Betfair and got huge odds versus traditional bookies. Charlie
  24. I didn't say they're not friendly and polite. I said they don't smile. Charlie
  25. Crap service and a confused offering IMO. Not bad but for somewhere that serves excellent offerings it's a shame that the service, decor and atmosphere don't match. Indifferent staff I thought, rather than rude. Actually something I have noticed in East Dulwich generally is that staff cannot and will not smile at customers. Shame. We need more smiling I think.
