  1. So sorry to hear about your dad, idm. If it's any consolation, the police and other emergency workers at the scene did a sterling job.
  2. Just to report, think it's woody nightshade, but gardener decided to remove them anyway on the 'better safe than sorry' principle. He was really sweet and I didn't feel like an idiot at all! Sue - passed on your comments, much appreciated.
  3. Spoke to Head Gardener and showed him a 'cutting'. He's not sure either so he's asked me to walk him round tomorrow and show him the patches to determine what they are. I'm leaning more towards woody, but he thought initially deadly, so we'll find out tomorrow.
  4. Major smash. Peckham Rye is blocked off going south. Other three roads are open but traffic slow. Try to avoid buses from/to Barry Road if you can.
  5. Groan - I just don't know! Perhaps safest to report it and risk abject humiliation.
  6. They look wild - definitely potato-type leaves with purple flowers. I shall look up Solanum and check.
  7. Oh joy unconfined - The Max is back!
  8. I think Dulwich Hospital is fab for blood tests and ECGs. Never had a problem waiting, staff charming and it's just a short stroll.
  9. I've spotted three patches of what I think may be deadly nightshade in P.Rye Park. I'm happy to report it but before I start a major panic, could someone else have a gander please and confirm it? The biggest lot is at the corner of the Adventure Playground, opposite Waverley School.
  10. will there be spam and pickle sandwiches still for tea?
  11. A whole bottom is just greedy, Moos.
  12. It's rude, Narnia, wash your mouth out.
  13. Did you also notice the hundreds of baby minnows swimming around? It's quite sweet watching the young coots trying to catch them just for fun.
  14. I'm waiting for the fourth one. What happened in The Clockhouse?
  15. Try leaving the radio on. Hot water bottle under a worn item of your clothing so he can smell you. Sod it - let him sleep on the bed!
  16. I watched the first 10 minutes - when the chest of drawers started swearing, I realised it wasn't for me.
  17. That's not fair DJQ - some people just go to pieces under exam conditions.
  18. Catch a news bulletin if you can - Archbishop Desmond Tutu utterly delightful!
  19. The reason I remember David Essex so well is that the 'hardest' girl in our class was reported to have gone completely ga ga and out of character - would have been wonderful to see that.
  20. Been pondering this, they all seem to blur into one. Maddy Prior et al at Rochester Castle. Cliff Richard at Tearfund Concert, Chatham Central. Gordon Giltrap, Gravesend Lindisfarne, headline at Cambridge Folk Festival Wings at Wembley all late seventies. Missed out on David Essex to my everlasting regret.
  21. Stop doing bloody decimals. I vote for Balls - the wordplay is endless.
  22. A groovy kind of love - Pet Clark
  23. here's a site which explains the horseshit: power play in the board room. Bear in mind however, if you are a spy, you need to sit facing the door with space for your gun arm and with a convenient window to leap out of.* *Don't do this on the 17th floor.
