  1. Nice to see you're helping tackle the fox problem of ED, Moos.
  2. Mary Poppins is the one I feel sorry for. Why can't we ban flights between 11pm and 7am? Works for the St John's clock bell. Bugger everyone else's time zone.
  3. Well, the shipping forecast was quite interesting.
  4. Sorry all - couldn't resist. Following the rules: Put on your red dress baby - Jerry Lee Lewis
  5. I could drink a case of you - Joni Mitchell
  6. My love is like a red, red rose - Kenneth McKellar [sorry - one of my dad's old 78s]
  7. King of the Road - Roger Miller
  8. Ho hum, tra la la.
  9. Turkish Delight anyone?
  10. The ceiling upstairs at the EDT has Masonic regalia carved in the architrave - perhaps the name Den Lodge harks back to when it was a hotbed of one-trousered, nipple-bared, square-standing chaps? Edited for MA.
  11. Pedantic query: isn't it meridian?
  12. As it happens, I finished reading the "Midwife" book just a few days ago. And while it does contain distressing scenes that one wouldn't find today, it also laments the decline in morality and community which the journalist conveniently sidesteps.
  13. Slip of the keyboard, old boy, I meant Jermyn Street of course.
  14. Trouble with watching at EDT is that trying to listen to commentary over the noise of the music is a bit trying. Not cricket, what?
  15. Nah, nah did just about sum it up. I'm not keen on furreners playing for England and I certainly thought KP was an arrogant tosspot, but to give him credit, he does seem to have responded rather maturely to the captaincy, and lost some of his ego (or at least learned to hide it). But despite trouncing SA on the last two one dayers, the grown up tests are the ones that count and we failed. I reckon the SA team were just resting on their laurels a little too much, besides, what have they got to prove?
  16. Yours for the Lords test then?
  17. I'm sure he did type it correctly. I think Brendan's rather in need of some uplifting support given the state of the SA one day team.
  18. Damn - didn't have access to a computer that day, so much I wanted to say to you Brendan!
  19. I have a vague recollection of Barnes Wallis doing some work on this donkey's years ago. How come nothing has been seriously developed in all that time?
  20. I think the point that BBW was trying to make is that if you care about animals, you want to minimise their suffering in the most humane way possible - that's not the time to be sentimental, it's time to act.
  21. Don't distract D_C, Sean, he'll be agog at the showjumping at the moment.
