First cut is the deepest - Cat Stevens. Innumerable covers have more airtime (Rod Stewart, etc). Not as good as the original and they all miss out a whole line of lyrics which drives me nuts.
Sean, you patently have never been to a point-to-point. Great family/friends day out with lucious picnics, booze and part of the fun having a flutter. No vice where I'm concerned. Ditto a day at the races is very convivial.
Glanced through New Years Honours List at OBE recipients (see other thread) and found this: Donald Reeve Buttress - architect and surveyor, services to the conservation of cathedrals. Any more?
I remember taking my daughter and her friend around the stables about 8 years ago - the police were very sweet to the children. My daughter was obssessed with police when she was younger. She insisted I took her into Peckham Police station once. They gave us an impropmtu tour and with inerring curiousity she dived straight into an armed response vehicle. Only in Peckham huh?
Only bone I've broken is my coxyx - not good when one's teenage passion is riding. I used to be so envious of friends who had plaster casts covered in signatures and doodles.
