  1. Glad you cleared that up - I thought it was asking for a boon.
  2. Don't worry Brendan, I believe you will find Olivia Newton John in Xanadu - she can soothe your brow. http://images.askmen.com/imagesmusician/2002_dec/olivia_newton_john/olivia_newton_john_150.jpg
  3. You could use real chicken stock - will give it oodles more flavour.
  4. For all those soft-hearted dog owners: http://www.berroco.com/images/exclusives/am/buster/buster_lg.jpg instructions to make your own here: http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/buster/buster.html
  5. Fish - are you a Ninja?

  9. Like Ophelia/Lady of S. down the Thames please in a willow basket - ending in a viking pyre with a few fireworks thrown in. [that actually sounds a bit like one of Ken's festivals but that's not what I mean!] Followed by a huge piss up.
  10. I'm alright Jack

  13. In for a penny... Three Dog Night: Mama Told Me Not to Come Derek & The Dominoes: Bellbottom Blues Moody Blues: Go Now (well there has to be a drippy one)
  14. Is it an ED-shaped Christmas tree or am I just hungover? If it is, then I think tis v. clever.
  15. Digging out me thermals.
  16. Saw Sir Ranulph Fiennes tonight (courtesy of Mamora Man). V. good speaker but came away mainly thinking wow - he's achieved so much and through very adverse mental and physical conditions. I'm not being starstruck since I've read his autobiography and know he can be a bit of shit too but maybe that's the downside to being driven. Who has affected/inspired you? [Just need to confess at this point that Billy Bremner was my childhood hero cos he had ginger hair. Don't worry - I don't emulate him that much.]
  17. Haven't been for yonks but I recall the Nightingale was good and the Windmill is ok for hot days.
  18. cdonline - very brave of you to share that information since unfortunately it is still often stigmatised. As a mother, I hope there is nothing my daughter could not come to me with, however awful she perceived it was and I think most parents would prefer to be able to support their children. Don't forget that shock, anger, etc usually kick in before the brain engages so discount the first reaction. You might find it easier to write to them perhaps including some up-to-date leaflets that would help dispel their fears. Very good luck to you - hope you feel able to share with them. PGC
  19. What about asking for one of those speed signs that lights up when one is driving too fast? Only downside is that I sometimes feel an overwhelming urge to set them off!
  20. If you keep said bag on head your skin will begin to blacken and you could stand in William Rose's doorway.
  21. Give me a slow left arm any day then.
  22. I watched both tonight, have to say, the original is the best.
  23. If jockeys can ride with several broken ribs, collar bones, etc, how come Pietersen can't bowl? Or is he just a little tired?
  24. If you can face it, Ikea have little strings of little lights powered by a little battery pack (about 1m long). Woolies for everything else.
