  1. Just do this: http://www.roadsafetygb.org.uk/news/3817.html
  2. The chipped concrete part can't be touched - it's private, belonging to that 1960s parade of shops.
  3. Greener: solar-powered; safer: light in the shadows cast by trees. Something like that. And like planters and hanging baskets in the summer, they just look nice. France and Germany have been doing this for years, and the Southbank is lit all year round.
  4. Cheap solar-power white LED lights in all the trees on Lordship Lane, so it looks like this through the winter months: [attached]
  5. I use an Oxford anchor bracket bolted to the front of the house, with an English Chain & lock, both Thatcham approved. No problems yet.
  6. There was one outside the Franklin shop a couple of autumns ago
  7. Good work. Was the bike chained up in the street, or on a frontage?
  8. In Goose Green park on friday afternoon. RayBan style black with white patterned inside. PM if you know anything!
  9. Saw them on Friday night, burning past the EDT. No helmets, 250cc+ scramblers with no plates or lights.

  11. However attractive the final pavement looks, it'll be let down by the privately owned surface in front of the 1960s parade, which is chipped and uneven concrete.

Wouldn't adding obstacles like flower troughs in this space cancel that out? (Although the idea of prettying up the pavement environment is a sound one in principle)
  13. Yep, a straight lawn and a 'V' shaped bed between the lawn and the drive
  14. It would drive me nuts for ever, if they weren't lined up. If they're just slightly out, even worse. Match it perfectly, or make it clearly and deliberately different, as my woodwork teacher advised me. Nothing inbetween.
  15. Looked like a small-ish crew, likely a TV ad
  16. If it were to be any use as a speed camera (which it isn't), it would've, should've been placed on the road going into Dulwich Village, before the parade of shops.
  17. It's linked to two induction coils in the tarmac by the white stop line at the traffic light. If you jump a red light, it will flash and take a photo of you. Fine and three points. It's live one second after the red light appears. Some have a dual speed camera use, but mostly on main roads, like the A40 in Acton. There will be calibration painted on the road if this is the case.
  18. It's just a digital red light camera
  19. If it's at the junction, it's probably a new digital-style red light camera, rather than the old film version.
  20. They're Honda VT125 Shadows/Viragos. They're not worth anything really
  21. They've been there for over 10 years. Not a police issue. I remember this subject coming up a while ago on here. They're apparently 'not for sale'.
  22. In Amsterdam, and France, mopeds (50cc) share the cyclepaths with cyclists. They don't even wear helmets or carry number plates. I suspect that the ones on this thread are uninsured scooters though.
  23. Traffic backed up from Oval to Peckham Road, last night because of Kennington chaos. And back to Victoria the other side of VH bridge. And everyone sitting with their engines running, in this heat.
