    Car clamping

Payment is admission of guilt I think

  3. Did you hear about the dyslexic guy who went clubbing? He got off his face on an F. Sorry.
  4. The tarmac running track around Dulwich park.
  5. Downstairs loos, quality loft conversions, new bathrooms and new kitchens were worth an extra ?3 for every ?1 spent during the good times, I remember reading. Not worth putting in: really expensive bathrooms, bathroom TVs and loft conversions in properties with small gardens.
  6. What car was it again? The link was broken.

  9. Sam Smiths - now there's a decent chain. Much cheaper than JDW's and good pies.
  10. They're a byword for violence where I grew up. Horrible places.

It's Barclay's Bank blue: http://group.barclays.com/About-us/Barclays-news/NewsArticle/1231784680193.html Be thankful they weren't sponsored by Vanish. http://www.vanish.co.uk/
  12. And a LFB fire investigation unit tearing up Denmark Hill. Any idea?
  13. Good luck indeed. A friend's experience in Camden, trying to get footage from the council's parking CCTV of his Mercedes being stolen was met with 'Sorry, the Data Protection Act forbids it.' Just to rub salt into his wounds, a fine arrived on his doormat a few days later for a lapsed parking permit on the same car, filmed by the same camera a few days earlier.
  14. And those blue strips look awful. They'll look even worse with diesel and tyre marks all over them. As Peckham Rose said, those of us who cycle to work know where to go anyway (and the best routes don't include LL).
  15. God help the East Dulwich bus commuter today. Not only do they have to put up with extra passengers because of the Tube strike and kids going back to school and continuing roadworks on LL, they have to contend with the northbound bus lane blocked by the Southwark Camera Car - again! Still, APCOA, their American contractor, has bucks to make.
  16. Old E-classes are popular targets, apparently. They're stripped down and the parts are crated to west Africa where these cars are used as taxis: http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Stripped+down+in+just+three+hours%3B+Stratford+car+gang+stole+120...-a0150754348
  17. Woke me up. It was hovering over there on Monday at about 2pm too. Illegal BBQs?
  18. Near my parents' house (in the provinces) the local council erected a new streetlight, for 'crime reduction' reasons, in a quiet cul-de-sac that had been unlit for 40 years. It's now the cool hang-out spot for the local youths, who stay up to the early hours shouting, snogging and boozing. Go figure, or something like that.
  19. It's a fallacy that light = fewer crimes. If anything, it creates a false sense of security.

  21. Traffic light cause motorists to speed up when they see a green or amber, unnecessary congestion and are generally ignored by pedestrians anyway. On the occasions the traffic lights at the top of Dog Kennel Hill or Denmark Hill have failed, for example, traffic flows calmly and smoothly and people rely on eye contact.

    Your caps lock's on
  23. Honestly, I could've done better with a garden roller. Is this a temporary surface? I'd ask for my money back if I was contracting that out.
  24. Ping Pong is very hit-and-miss, usually miss. A Bodean's would be good. Or a Cattle Grid.
