  1. Little reminder about the DVIS school fair this Saturday, do come along if you can and support one of your local schools! :)
  2. Do join us on Saturday 6th December between 12.00pm and 2.30pm for a fun filled afternoon to include... Santa?s Grotto, donkey rides, visit from a fire engine, raffle, festive food and drink, handicraft stalls and much more. Entry to the fair is free and we welcome families from the local community already at school or looking to see what DVIS has to offer! The fair will be in the Lake Building which is the site nearest to North Dulwich train station.
  3. This place is amazing. It's near Reading, takes me an hour to get there if I leave early enough on a weekend morning...! http://www.nirvanaspa.co.uk/ They're not a hotel but as you mention I alway find hotel spas a real let down. There is a hotel about 2 minutes away from the spa, can't remember the name but you drive past it just before turning in to Nirvana
  4. Hi Claire These websites may or may not help if life is busy but they offer some receipe ideas if nothing else. Not strickly for coeliac's but offers a great selection of vegetarian and mostly gluten free ideas - http://www.greenkitchenstories.com/ Slightly at a tangent this one but if you can face doing the juice fast it really does work wonders with helping the body to help itself and if not, again there's plenty of 'regular' food receipe ideas on here - http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/recipes/ If you wanted to know more about the juicing then watch this film - don't worry it's not a preachy guide on how to juice but more of a life story - http://www.fatsickandnearlydead.com/ Good luck.
  5. If you don't mind the distance then check out their sister nursery which has a great outdoor space - http://www.dulwichoaks.co.uk/
  6. We used Gumtree recently, the free option. Though for an office move rather than children's clothes / toys. No costs and struggled to keep up with the interest it generated! Then of course there's preloved, again a free option.
  7. I've tried posting in trades but didn't get a response so thought I'd try the helpful family section?! Thanks
  8. Depending on how far you want to travel across town... http://www.ridinghousecafe.co.uk/ https://www.morganshotelgroup.com/originals/originals-st-martins-lane-london/eat-drink/asia-de-cuba http://www.rivercafe.co.uk/rc_page.php
  9. As a heads up, we were there today and the fountains weren't working properly. The contractor that showed up mentioned they're closing it all day Monday for repairs and to investigate. Obviously I can't vouch for this but thought it was worth sharing just in case!
  10. We went to Mousses last year with a then 3 year old and another family with a 3 and 1.5 year old. The childcare was AMAZING - clean, friendly, professional, great outdoor space. And I believe the lady running it has returned this year. Although all villas were booked the childcare wasn't busy and although we'd booked in advance it wasn't necessary for the year we'd been.I've got to rush off now but will PM you my mobile as there's lots more good and room for improvement comments I can give you if you wish.
  11. Can't vouch for their changing facilities but here's a few suggestions of friendly, large ish places where baby noises shouldn't be a problems... http://www.thebridgelounge.co.uk/ http://www.therosepublichouse.co.uk/contact/4574957822 http://www.woolpackbar.com/ http://tannerandco.co.uk/
  12. Oh dear, that'll teach me, I very rarely look at any of the other sections! I'll check now. Thanks
  13. This might all sound a bit random but very true! Overhead a couple of people chatting as I came out of a meeting in Victoria last week and they mentioned that Iceland is becoming an M&S and a Ritzy cinema is coming to the area too. Anyone know more about this? Thanks
  14. I found this link really helpful when my son asked those sorts of questions at about the same age. Although both his grandfathers passed away before he was born we weren't having to deal with a specific death at the time he asked which made it easier to be neutral when answering his questions. Not sure how I'd have coped if I'd also had to deal with my own raw emotions! http://www.babycenter.com/0_how-to-talk-to-your-preschooler-about-death_65688.bc?page=2 Especially this part... Give brief, simple answers. Young children can't handle too much information at once. At this age, it's most helpful to explain death in terms of physical functions that have ceased, rather than launching into a complicated discussion of a particular illness: "Now that Uncle John has died, his body has stopped working. He can't walk or run, or eat or sleep or see anymore, and he doesn't feel any pain."
  15. We stayed here last summer - friendly hosts and great area in front of the tents for the kids to play within eye sight, wooded area very steep and not so easy for young kids to explore - http://www.featherdown.co.uk/farm/canfields.html?region=West+Sussex&orderby=rate&order=asc&country=Great+Britain Stayed here about 5 years ago - http://www.featherdown.co.uk/farm/sunninglye-farm.html?location=sunninglye-farm&orderby=rate&order=asc&country=Great+Britain - again great hosts, small area behind barbed wire fence for kids to play within eye sight. Fantastic wooded area with lake for fishing and all ages to explore though over a hill so not within eye sight. Shan't comment on price V value etc as you've only asked for suggestions on places to stay! :)
  16. Thanks Pamela78, yep can certainly make a day of things over that way. Monkey - be great to hear what you guys thought about it all.
  17. Has anyone taken a 4 year old to the Planetarium at Greenwich? Or is there somewhere more suitable for a space crazy boy. Thanks in advance.
  18. Yep, thanks EmilyPie was there today. :)
  19. Hi ya, other than the obvious trips to park, soft play, swimming, library, cafe treat trip, staying at home can anyone recommend local drop in activities for 4 year olds? Looking for things on the calmer / quiet side as he'll have been at pre school all day so don't want to overload him but also trying not to fall in to a TV afternoon type routine?! Happy for that to happen some days but would quite like to vary things up too! Have heard / seen on here good things about Captured On The Rye so will give that a go but wondered if anyone had other suggestions too. Thanks in advance.
  20. We used something like this in the early days, though we put underneath the sheet to avoid it moving and to not make a big thing about a protector being there, was easy enough to whip off the sheet and protector when accidents happened, had two so that one could be in wash if needs be. http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Mattress-and-Sheet-Protector-Pad/243700,default,pd.html
  21. Still not been claimed!
  22. Does it have to be brand new? Ebay or Classifieds on here might be worth a go?
  23. Olive oil with no added extras
  24. Something a bit different http://www.apieceof.co.uk/#/teachers-bags/4567130342
