Hi LauraHW - yep my boy, now 3, would only sleep for 30 minute cycles which of course meant he was grizzly and tired and we were tetchy and beside ourselves, then one day he slept for a 3 hour nap - who knows why as we'd already tried most things which had made no difference! I'm with Saffron, it was a stage that he grew out of. Good luck and keep strong, it does get better / easier! :)

Sand and water play - is it open at Brockwell Park?
bumpy replied to bluesuperted's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Wasn't on Friday, closed for repairs -
Have just used Terry based on this forums comments and am so glad not only for this forum which is amazing but also a HUGE thank you to Terry who at very short notice did some painting, sanding, grouting and more. As people have said he's great at his job, hard working, accommodating, polite and very easy to have around the house. Would use him again without a second thought. THANKS Terry

Sorry to hi jack but have Tots Bots Bamboozles in size 1 and birth to potty should anyone wish to buy and try. Have about 20 or so of each plus liners and a few wraps - shout if you'd like to get any, seem to retail between ?8 and ?10 depending on which site you use, I'm thinking ?4 each - any takers! :) -
My 3 year old son has been going since September and after initial settling in issues (more down to him than the pre school) loves it. The outside space is one of the best dedicated spaces we saw, the staff all seem lovely / fair / caring / chatty, the head office is very easy to deal with, feedback is freely given, suggestions are taken on board. PM if you have specific questions

suggestion wanted for a good travel feeding tray, mat or plate
bumpy replied to dibden's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We have these which are great as can also be used as they get older for wrapping sandwiches in. Doesn't get round the pulling off table issue though! http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=wrap-n-mat&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=5947993736&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12860142481083976307&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&ref=pd_sl_o05tqox2y_e -

We brush at night for him and in the morning at the same time. He's an extremely competitive 3 year old so at the same time to see who finishes first - though we're also racing against this egg timer so know he's doing it for a certain length of time. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Smiley-Sand-Egg-Timer-minute/dp/B008H6EY42/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1359548420&sr=8-2 Other days we offer to sign a funny song or tell a story of his choice while we brush his teeth and sometimes we resort to this http://crappypictures.com/teeth-brushing/

Book about anger/feelings for pre-schooler
bumpy replied to WorkingMummy's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Although SuperManny may have upset some, please don't dismiss the book suggestion http://www.amazon.co.uk/Talk-Kids-Will-Listen-Child/dp/1853407054 I've a 3 year old boy and have read this book numerous times and can truly say we are all much calmer and reasonable when we follow it's suggestions. Yes it's hard in the heat of the moment but I guess if something is practised enough it eventually becomes second nature. And surely if http://www.amazon.co.uk/Talk-Kids-Will-Listen-Child/dp/1853407054 suggest it to their mentors reading list it must make some sense as they deal with some very difficult situations. :) -
WorkingMummy - I so love your "blessing for my own baby" and will most certainly use it if / when I next get raised eyebrows! :)

Football at JAGS on a Saturday morning at 11am. -
Had the same problem and the end result was he stopped drinking milk so we supplemented with yogurts, cheese and milk in food (mac cheese etc). A year on, if we offer milk or water in a cup / glass he'll happily accept both.

I'd be interested in the Tuesday afternoon. Though if things change and a Monday or Thursday morning become options then that'd be great too.
