My 18 month old had a similar thing a few months ago, though from both ends! He caught it off a friend who attends nursery and seems it had been doing the rounds. We were unsure about stopping bland food and milk but eventually we stopped all food for 24 hours, gave plenty of water and watered his milk down 50/50 and even 75/25 and this worked a treat. It went on for over 8 days before stopping and was the same with my friends little girl.

Help on how to get 8 month old to take a bottle?
bumpy replied to foxyarchie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Could try NUK, the only bottle my boy would take -
I used it about 8 months ago a couple of times while swimming. Would use it more but now back at work. My boy thoroughly enjoyed it and I found the toys clean and a great range. Staff seemed friendly & helpful.

Keep for as long as possible. :) Our morning nap reduced from an hour to about 30 minutes around 13/14 months until eventually dropping, currently 18 months and gets to 1pm lunchtime nap though will nod off for 20 mins or so if we're in the car around 11/1130am

nikki73 - yep, flight times & the only other direct flight option of easy jet were why we chose them. we didn't check the buggy in prior to getting to the airport, it was just accepted that we had one. Stanstead took it off us at check in, thankfully had a sling with us so this didn't matter. BellendBear - yep no hand luggage allowance for toddlers on laps

Hi, have just come back from Mallorca using Ryan Air. Hellish return journey, have flights for one more trip in August and then hope to never have to use them again..! We took a MacLaren buggy so no direct experience on 2 parters. In terms of checking in we did the usual online check in and printed our boarding passes and had no trouble with the buggy on arrival. The one very good thing we discovered is that we checked in a bag for our 17 month old under the 'baby equipment' section and although it held his clothes, nappies etc and not a car seat or travel cot it went through. Costing us ?20 for the whole trip for 20 kilos rather than an extra bag at ?75 for 15 kilos. Yes we were vague when they asked what was in it, replying 'baby stuff'. Were we lucky or is this a loop hole we can make use of? The website lists 3 items under the 'baby equipment' section but doesn't specifically say it can only be these things. Good luck.

Is this tiredness normal for a nearly 3 year old....

My boy isn't at that age yet but is it possible that although they don't potentially need a nap every day at this age a couple of naps a week would help? -
Not sure these are adventurous but here's some favourites in our house.... Red Leicester cheese chunks Avocado & cream cheese on rice cakes or crackers Gnocchi with whatever sauce & extras take your fancy - http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4594/tomato-spinach-and-mascarpone-gnocchi Courgette lasagne - http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4716/creamy-courgette-lasagne http://www.babyledweaning.com/recipes/ - lots of recipe & snack suggestions here

I have a Bee and love it, though in hindsight I'd have preferred a carry cot when he was newborn as it could double up as moses basket & didn't like having to strap him in each time.

Audrey - 17 months on we still very much use our original buggy (Bugaboo Bee) but we did buy a MacLaren Sport from eBay for the grand price of ?30 which we use for holidays
-
Totally agree with all the above. I had/have a Bugaboo Bee for my now 17 month old and the only thing I didn't like (in hindsight) was that he had to have straps and be clipped in each and everytime, whereas friends had prams that doubled up as Moses baskets which not only saved money but just seemed nicer to me when they were so small. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Not strictly family related but hoping you might be able to help. Had my bike stolen last night, from outside my house. It's a very distinctive red dutch style bike like the attached. If anyone spots it be great if you could let me know. Thanks http://www.bobbinbicycles.co.uk/epages/rzjy48f9ghvy.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/rzjy48f9ghvy/Products/GLORFAIRLRED

Can you recommend a good deep tissue massage therapist?
bumpy replied to bee74's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I would highly recommend Abby Mullholland on 07974 273125. Not only is she a trained masseuse she's also studying to be an osteopath. She's very strong and you feel brilliant after seeing her as she manages to really get in to all your aches & knots -
Hi, no experience of my own child being used but as a photographers agent have booked children for ad campaigns. Personally it's not for me and I think you have to consider your childs personality before putting them forward. As Olga found it's good money but ruthless, boring and to be honest not everyone cares that much about whether your child is having a great day as it's all about getting the shot. Yes you may have to contribute towards getting up to date head shots as your child changes but you shouldn't have to pay a joining fee. If you really want to pursue this avenue here's a few of the childrens model agencies we've used.... http://www.alphabetkidz.co.uk/ www.bonnieandbetty.com www.bruceandbrown.com www.byronscasting.co.uk www.kidslondonltd.com www.kidsplusagency.co.uk www.motmodel.com

Turns out he was just full up on milk! Sat down and realised he wasn't actually asking for the daytime milk it was just a habit we'd fallen in to so didn't offer the 9.30am or the 3.30pm one day and he didn't mind BUT did eat lunch and dinner. :)

I'm a cloth nappy user with disposables at night. If nothing else works buy a couple of Motherease wraps and put these over the top of the disposables. I resorted to this when my boy was between sizes and works a treat. http://www.babykind.co.uk/wrapsairflow.htm

Thanks Fuschia, to be honest up to now I wasn't worrying about it as thought we'd just go with the flow, not make a scene over meal times & he'd drop it when ready (like his morning nap which he can't seem to manage without either...!) But then I heard about the iron concern. Yep gave up breast feeding when he was 1. His morning & daytime milk is from his NUK beaker but with a teat as he refuses the beaker top! Then his bedtime one is from the bottle. I also tried moving him on to a non spill beaker but he refused that too. He drinks lots of water and will happily take that from his non spill beaker. Milk is first thing at 6.30/7am ish then again at 0930 when he has a 30 minute nap, 1pm ish before his afternoon nap, then 3.30pm and 6.30pm It's not like he's fussy about certain foods and for example only wants yoghurt as he'll happily turn that down too. He's just not that interested in food full stop. Mary, Mary quite contrary. :)

Went the whole baby led weaning route but my little man has decided he most certainly prefers milk to food. Currently 15 months and although will eat a small breakfast & lunch more often than not won't eat dinner. Probably has about 32oz milk a day! Have tried cutting down on the daytime milk but he just has more at bedtime and I give in to that as he's a good sleeper and don't want to ruin that. Should I be concerned? Any tips to encourage him?
