Posting on behalf of Alice.... I have been helping out a couple who've been homeless who are expecting a baby in June and wondered if anyone else might be able to help out with any donations of stuff that they don't need. We've managed to collect lots of clothes but just about anything else in good condition would be wonderful - (towels, cot linen, play mat, changing mat, bath thermometer, milton bucket, bath, out grown nappies, toys particularly helpful). If you think you can help at all please do give me a shout..... Alice Thompson 07825 220562 29 Milton Road SE24 0NW [email protected]

littleEDfamily - the agency is Adam & Eve and yes the John Lewis marketing guy is an amazing client - no I don't work for Adam & Eve or John Lewis but we have worked for them on ad shoots. :)

Hhhmmm without wanting to start unnecessary bickering I'm with sillywoman. Nappies do vary depending on the shape of your baby especially if you go with the washables and Molly at The Nappy Lady offers a great service in showing you what's available with suggestions depending on whether your baby is tall, short, slim etc. As for disposable they also vary, my NCT group apart from me all use disposables and have tried various ones before settling on their preferred choice - mostly to do with which ones can last through the night without leaking or needing a change.

Breastfeeder not taking the bottle - help!
bumpy replied to dotterz's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Well so far the NUK seems to be the best one, so thanks for the tips and thanks for the loan of the bottle Princess. We're not home and dry but he's taken his usual 2 to 3ozs and then this afternoon took 6ozs over an hour period without fussing and with lots of smiles while I played silly buggers to encourage him...! :-) Anyway the main point of my post is where do I get NUK bottles locally? Cheers -
Has anyone registered their nanny with Ofsted?
bumpy replied to ceebeebee's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I downloaded the forms off the Ofsted website and posted them back to Ofsted. If I remember righty it's the CR1 form and they have a PDF or Word document to download, you may even be able to do it online. Although the document is about 50 pages long and you need to return every page even the blank ones...! You don't actually have to complete each page. They also have a telephone number helpline for filling in the form. http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/Ofsted-home/Forms-and-guidance/Browse-all-by/Other/General/Application-forms-for-the-Childcare-Register-forms-CR1-and-CR2/(language)/eng-GB 0300 123 1231 Is your nanny already First Aid qualified? If not speak to this lady at Southwark Council - Monica Larlhan on 020 7525 5240 or 07903 258820 -

Cheers, will search now. He will take the one we have just won't drink more than enough to satisfy his immediate hunger. However willing to try anything at the mo so be great to borrow the bottle from you. Much appreciated. -
Breastfeeder not taking the bottle - help!

I also need some help on this, my 4 month old to be (Friday) has been taking a bottle since about 7 weeks but as we only need to do this as and when he's decided that he'll only take enough to satisfy a hunger pang and not a full feed. We've been giving him a bottle a day but as he'll only take a maximum of 3ozs (and that's on a good day) I end up topping up with breast after about 30 minutes or so. My hubby looks after him once a week when all he gets is the bottle but of course it's a stressful day for both as he never drinks enough to nap well and of course the night after being on the bottle all day is usually terrible - any tips to get him to take more from the bottle would be most apreciated. Cheers -
I'd want to know if they were my kids.....
bumpy replied to Narnia's topic in The Family Room Discussion
i agree this is a terrible situation but why have you assumed it was au pair/child minder and not their mother. it's kinda tainting child carers and making out all parents are saints - i'm not a child carer so no ulterior motive -
what age can i change my bugaboo bee from facing me to front facing - just he's a very inquisitive little man and think he'd appreciate seeing what's going on around him. :)cheers

cheers for that, be interested to hear your friends feedback

Looking to get one so that we can go hill walking - ideally lightweight, stands up on it's own and not too expensive. Not looking for slings but something a bit more rugged. Any suggestions please?

Milky Moments (what a great name) on a Wednesday morning (10-12) at the Rosendale Centre is a very small breast feeding clinic with only a handful of people so you really get some quality time with the extremely lovely lady who runs it - apologies but her name escapes me. I'm hoping to go this Wednesday if you didn't fancy going alone.

Did both and think they're both worth doing as have different benefits. I went here - http://www.dulwichtherapyrooms.co.uk/ Loved the Kundalini Yoga on a Wednesday morning. Had to stop Pilates as they cancelled the Monday morning class but had done regular Pilates for years so had the muscle history to see me through the Pregnancy
