Hoping to join you this week

We did the intensive weekend course just before Christmas last year and although at the time I wasn't sure why I'd signed up, as I'd already done a fair amount of research so guess it didn't teach me much BUT it did teach my hubby lots in a very normal, non threatening environment plus we made some great friends. From what I've heard all the teachers in East Dulwich are lovely.

bumpy replied to Indiana's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We found that we were covered under our house insurance and then had the nanny register with http://www.nannyinsure.co.uk/ which we paid for -

Should you use a harness on a high chair?
bumpy replied to skip's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We started using one at 6 months with just the baby set, used a jumper round his back & side to start with as he was still a little wobbly but now at 8 months he's fine. I'd also go for the baby set over the harness in the early days though not sure what's going to happen as he gets older and we can't squeeze him through the baby set holes! -
Calling all ED women considering home birth
bumpy replied to connorsc's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Had a home birth in January, happy to chat -
I find the bamboozles work really well for long babies. As for liners I tried a few different brands and yes used them from the start BUT no way do they catch everything! No leaks but a fair amount of rinsing nappies required.

Sleep with newborn - if you had it to do over again
bumpy replied to reren's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Currently have a 7.5 month old and the one thing I'd do differently if I had another baby is not rushing to fit him/her in to a night time routine at 3 months old - why I tried to heaven knows - think it was because all my friends who have older children kept telling me how important a routine was and not to create a rod for my own back. After a couple of weeks of trying my brain returned and I decided to 'listen' to my baby rather than everyone else around me. I'd agree with Fuschia and just go with the flow for the first 4 months or so and with any luck you'll both naturally fall in to a routine that suits you both. :-) -
I used them from day 1 - started with muslin cloths that I folded and then went with Bamboozles - http://www.totsbots.com/nappies/range/bamboozles/ Though don't like their wraps so use Motherease instead. In hindsight I wouldn't use muslins again and can totally understand people having enough to think about without using washables from day one. Guess I'm just a sucker for punishment..! :-)) Have you contacted The Nappy Lady - http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/ - think they have testers for loan or if your bubs is a long slim baby then I'd be happy to lend you some of mine to try - I have the size ones which he's outgrown plus the newer birth to potty ones. My little one is 7.5 months old and also breast fed, it's taken me a while to get my head round night times and had originally used disposables once we went past the feeding every 2 hours stage but now he's in washables 24/7. P.M me if you'd like to chat more or meet up.

Hi Kit, the Bumps & Babes at Goose Green on a Monday or on a Friday at St Faiths Church would be perfect for you. -
There's this one - http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,498795 Also the Bumps & Babes session at St Faiths Church on a Friday morning is amazing, Alice the lady who runs it couldn't be more helpful or friendly. There's another Bumps & babes session on a Monday at Goose Green Church.

bumpy replied to HollieES's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Great classes on Lordship Lane, both daytime & evening. http://www.dulwichtherapyrooms.co.uk/ Brierley Midwives are fab if you're looking to go the Homebirth route - 020 3299 6163 Also a great way to meet new mums or mums to be is the Bumps & Babes session at St Faiths Church, Red Post Hill on a Friday morning - 9.30am to 11am - run by Alice - one of the nicest, warmest sessions I went to. -
Had this come through to me and as I don't qualify thought I'd pass on.... Would you be interested in dying your hair blonde as part of an Easy Living promotion? Or alternatively do you know of anyone you can recommend? It is a sandy, natural blonde rather than bright. We are looking for 3 women based in the London area and within the age bracket 30-50 years old. They will need to be available to have their hair dyed on Monday the 19th and attend a shoot on the 20th July. Suitable candidates will have shoulder length (or longer) blonde or light brown/mousey hair,it can be pre-lightened however not snow white. Dark brown hair, especially dyed will be unsuitable unfortunately. If you're interested please reply with a photo and a few words about yourself at [email protected] (please send as large a photo as possible so we can see the all important hair!).
