how about a double twist to the plot - Catherine Tate - Who played Donna, as she became the 'Doctor-Donna' in the last episode, what's to stop him regenerating into an identical version of her as they sort of merged minds already... Could be interesting and a strange turn of events... but then again I think it should finally end up that the Doctor transforms into Davros, goes back in time and becomes his own mortal enemy.... stranger things have happened you know !!!

So based on the fact you claim to be about 26 years his junior, does that imply that you are a lot older then you think... Welcome to the area when you get here, hope it is all you expect and remember to take care when visiting all the lovely shops so as not to single handly turn the consumer spending freeze around...

I say sir, don't you have either, my gawsh this is Dul-wich you know .... simply everyone and their maids have a spare car and Garage... for the days when one's driver has taken the rolls for a wash (damn fool always brings them back wet and it makes for a soggy cheese sandwich)

I don't really know why the law is that way, a couple of nice police officers told me the rules a few years ago when they had to move someone for me. I guess it is something to do with the fact that your exit is blocked but on returning you have the option to park elsewhere should your entrance be blocked. Notes are a good thing, make sure you don't damage the car (maybe photo it before and after) and I would say polite, pointing out something like "Please do not park across this driveway, access required 24 hours a day, many thanks for your co-operation in future" menacing notes can end up with damage to the car in the drive. If required, and the police can't contact the driver of the vehicle, they can give them a ticket, which tends to stop them doing it again, but if they are your neighbour then it doesn't make for good relationships. I would also suggest a sign on your gates or wall saying "Please do not park across this drive, thank you" just to emphasis the point of not parking there.. if all else fails contact the council and get a white line painted across your drive (but that doesn't always work as people sometimes ignore that) I have in the past contemplated puting a trolly jack under the offending car and twisting it 45 degrees into the road and then calling the police to say it looks abandoned and is parked dangerously, but I think that may get me into more trouble then it is worth. (but such a nice thought)

Even more annoying was that there > was a space on his side of the road. Grrrrrrrr. I know this driver - He / She / They do it to me all the time, usually with no idea that they are in the wrong and when you point out their error (either nicely or not so nicely) you get one of three responses The Good ones move straight away and say sorry The Bad ones try to argue that they are only popping to the shop / see a friend or going for a 2 hour lunch, but still move it after you repeat the words "NO PARKIGN ACROSS MY DRIVE" half a dozen times The Ugly ones tell you not to be so 'uppity' (or words to that effect) and walk off Sadly the law states that they can only be moved on if they are blocking you from getting out of your drive and not into it... however a handy little trick is to always keep a spare car in the garage for such an emergency thus allowing you to call the police and (if you so deem) get them a ticket for parking... I sometimes wonder who's insurance would pay should my handbrake cable acciently snap resulting in my car rolling out of the drive and into theirs... after all that accident wouldn't have happened if they parked legally now !!! ::o

Okay - so I have an afternoon where I am bored (Norton Internet Security 2009 takes an age to install and Configure) Help me pass the time, by writing our very own Carry on script here on the forum, based on life in East Dulwich and comments in the forum. Also which Carry on star do you believe you would be based on either looks, personallity or mannerisms ? Sadly I have a Sid James laugh (at times) but am more like hattie jakes in build (Man boobs - you either hate them or secretly play wih them) ::o Okay so the opening synopsis of the story Our young hero (played by Babs Windsor) has just moved to East Dulwich and on her first day in the area someone 'gooses her up the Goose Green' In the best Carry on tradition she laughs like a naughty school girl and turns around to say "Oi Cheeky don't touch my cheeks!" .....

Hey Bob - Don't tell everyone what colour my house is, otherwise they will all want to visit... Personally it is Picture Gallery Red on the accent wall, as it makes the life size naked plaster figurines of myself stand out so much better, and the 5000 candle watt spot lights aimed at the right 'areas' make the whole effect even more stunning... (6) Now that we have discussed and identified my 'artistic' tastes, shall we get back to the discussion in hand ?? :) -

Fair point Bob, however I beleive that DaisyChain got 3 and not 5 as she had asked for... which according to the colours you show isn't as drastic as 1 to 3 as shown (but then again maybe I am Colour blind) Either way, it sounds like an accidental mistake, the shop has rectified it (in terms of new paint) and at the end of the day there is not a lot that should occur apart from allowing DaisyChain the chance to let off steam over the situation (careful you don't lift the lining paper when you let off steam !!) ;-) -
Being Diwali yesterday, I celebrated with a home made Chicken and Prawn Curry.... have to say that when I am not cooking I don't use curry houses in the area (apart from Ganapati) as they just don't have the authentic flavours of India that I love when I visit the country... Ganapati gets my vote every time for that simple fact. Now after last nights curry does anyone have any chilled or frozen toilet rolls I can borrow in a hurry !!! :X PS Also love the Banana Leaf in Croydon, but that is a bit far to go....

I got to say, and if I may throw in a good word here, that I have nothing but praise for Plough Homecraft and the service they have provided me over the years, Whenever I go in, nothing seems to be too much trouble for them and only last week they spent 10 minutes looking for some rubber washers for my loo (that were subsequently out of stock) and in the end they gave me some really helpful advice about how to re-use the old ones by using some plumbers mate to reaffirm the seal on them... total cost, nothing and they didn't even try to sell me plumbers mate. However I do also agree with Ruffers "Different People, Different Experiences" and often I find that by beign happy and friendly to the staff behind the till, they are happy, obliging and friendly back (please note I am not saying that DaisyChain wasn't here... just an observation on shop staff from my experience) Now I have to say, it is unfortunate that Daisychain got the wrong shade of paint mixed and I guess mistakes do happen, Personally I too would be a bit upset about a decorator charging me ?150 for a days work (is he not polish ??) but seriously, the shop could have easily claim that you told them the wrong shade, but they didn't they took the right stance and replaced the paint and made a small token offer as well. I wouldn't expect any DIY shop to offer anything more in a similar situation and I guess really that Homebase/B&Q would more then likely only replace the paint at best. What I would dearly love to say is that I wish people would stop whining about our local businesses and their occasional mistakes, because if we all stopped using them we would miss them when they are replaced by Starbucks or another major chain... but I won't say that as it will only inflame people on here and that isn't the point of my post. -

I am sure if they aren't that they can be persuaded to do one. (note : if this has already been discused then apologies, I haven't bothered to read all the thread)
