Today's evening standard has an article about the New Routemasters and the two designs that won first prize... sadly they only won a prize and it is not 100% certain that they will be the final design http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23605116-details/Mayor+unveils+winning+designs+for+Routemaster/article.do However maybe in 3 years time (I know it will flash by like a trip on a No 40) we will end up with decent hybrid busses and conductors again.

Sadly this is the time of year thieves love, all the presents under the tree, mostly new and expensive so that they can make a little more money. It is good to let people know they are operating in the area again, and I am sure that the Police have this high on their radar. However it is wise to be extra vigilant at the moment, obsessive with checking doors and windows are locked, alarms are on and if you hear an alarm going off in your neighbours house have a look to see if you see anything suspicious (then call teh Police if you do see something rather then tackle it yourself) Sadly if they decide to pick on your property then even this advice may not be enough, but as most thieves are opportunists anything that makes it harder for them is always a good deterent. Heath I am sorry to hear your news, and I hope your items turn up soon and that your insurance company sorts out your claim swiftly.

Sigh they did a C4 documentry on Tuesday night entitled "MAN HUNTERS: MEET THE GIGOLOS" I actually didn't see it however Mother* did and she told me all about it yesterday.... I have to say it sounded quite bizzare and only one of them (the English gent) seemed to come out as 'almost normal' Does that help - if not go to 4od and see it for yourself ... Hope well and truely shattered I suspect now.... however you still ahve Miles above to pick up and play with *Oh gosh, sounds like I own the Bates Hotel now.... shower time anyone ?

KK, I would prefer the Smurfs 'blue' christmas single at no 1 then another bluming x-factor Christmas no 1.... nothing against the singer (whatsername) but please Christmas is commercial enough without some smarmy TV producer making it all about his latest find (even though it has been 4 months in the finding) However this year I agree with DM lets get Bianca into the charts with her rendition of 'Ricky' (I haven't listened to the download yet so I am guessing what the song is about)

May I recommend a PVR for your other half, he can record what he wants and watch it later as a distraction whilst you are showing the gardener, Pool boy or Butler what exactly they have done wrong and how you need it to be 'fixed to your satisfaction' ;-) Two problems solved by one electrical device !!! Time and the No 12 are a strange bedfellow It is supposed to be every 5-6 minutes but can be more or less frequent, and advice is not to cut it too fine in the morning. (Rye Lane can get locked up at times as well) The 197 is also a good substitute for the 12 Neither buses are too busy in the morning until they reach Peckham so no real worries on that score... As for Crystal Palace Road, it is long, covered in tarmac and road humps - Does that help ?

OH GOD What did I start with this discussion ??? However on the Preaching at Bus stops bit, about 9 years ago at the Elephant waiting for a no 12 home there were the Gospal Singers all there singing and a dancing and a preaching and at the end they gave the Microphone to the Italian with a speech impediment who proclaimed at the top of his voice "The wages of sin is deaf" Pith the deaf people is all I say !!!

I always wonder if the Jehovas Witnesses and their 'conversion calls' is a bit like Pyramid Selling, the more people they convert the better chance they have of getting on that final list of 144,000 thereby the people they convert need to convert more people to move up that list and so on... Eventually there has to be a point where there is no way anyone else can get on the list so new conversions are actually not going to get what they signed up for.... I wonder if the religious version of the FSA has ever looked into this ?

Today, I am working from Home, and for the forth time in 2 weeks I have answered the door to someone asking about my religion and do I believe in their own special God. It is starting to scare me that maybe they know something is about to happen "The End of the World is Nigh" or soemething of that world shattering ilk. I will admit that they are starting to annoy me now, espcially as last night they disturbed the Coven and our ritual sacrifice of a virgin (don't they know how hard it is to find a virgin these days (6) ) Is anyone else getting annoyed and what techniques (apart from the polite no thank you and shutting the door) do you use ?

Dear Dulwich Mum I believe this is the most imprortant post ever for two reasons 1 It Supports a worthy charity 2 It may well wipe that smug grin of Cowels face and stop it being yet another x-factor Christmas no 1. (Please Santa for Christmas can we have a normal single at no 1 this year !!!)

Maybe we need to merge the two threads into one and thus they solve each others problems However with NICE blokes on the other one and NICE women on here, isn't there a risk that it will all become too NICE and we will end up with the Winter Vomiting Niceness Bug (Nice) Not sure what is going on with the Cacti here (protests innocence)and I don't really want to know either !!
