  1. I?ve looked at their website and have to disagree. One Dulwich want the roads in area B to be open only to area B residents. They want closures at peak times (7-10am, 3-8pm perhaps?) to keep out non residents. If you?ve signed up as a supporter thinking they are anti closures you are mistaken. Of course it will take some time for drivers to figure out it?s no longer a shortcut. This is to be expected (especially on day 1!) and it?s reasonable to expect it to take awhile to settle down. Will be so much better for all the roads off Melbourne when it does. Give it a month or so.
  3. dande - ref your point 3. I?m interested to know how you think the onedulwich alternative tackles the displaced traffic you?re worried would be an issue under the council?s plan? If onedulwich believes traffic is only an issue at peak times and this is when the restrictions will be in place then it follows that all this traffic will still be displaced. Is there some additional measure proposed that isn't clear from the documents?
  4. I notice in this doc from the website that OneDulwich strongly urge 'clearer separation of cycles from cars on key roads Calton Avenue and Court Lane'. Does this mean segregated cycle lanes? It would be great if there was support for rebalancing the roads, removing car parking to enable cycling. https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5ee5b2552f1141316ee2efc9/t/5ee5d4427a6102337ee2bbb2/1592120390448/One+Dulwich+Proposal+for+Traffic+Restrictions+in+Area+B.pdf
  5. Looking at the plans it is a permeable filter.
  6. Totally agree those junctions are awful. I was pleased to hear the council mention it?s going to look at improving safety on Lordship Lane for pedestrians at a OHS Dulwich consultation meeting pre lockdown.
  7. A lot has changed since 2015, our understanding of the damaging impact air pollution has on our health, climate change to name a few. During lockdown there has been a big increase in cycling which should be encouraged, less cars on the road and all that. Residential roads like Melbourne are an obvious choice to be a safe cycle route alternative to Lordship Lane. Will make a big positive difference to pedestrian safety crossing Melbourne Grove/East Dulwich Grove junction too.
  8. Agreed. It?s a great idea. rollflick Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Unless a vaccine miraculously appears, we are > going to have distancing rules for at least a > year. 9. The Gardens is brilliant. Small catchment though.
  10. Anyone know the latest? I?ve lost track re the planning application but keen to support the open space staying open. It?s been a lifesaver to our family during lockdown.
  11. Yes, emerging evidence links air pollution to worsened COVID-19 outcomes. COVID-19 is a respiratory disease so it makes sense not to burn anything which might make breathing harder.
  12. Extreme speeding is unfortunately on the increase across London https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/lockdown-speeding-metropolitan-police-bank-holiday-a4434581.html Worrying trend
  13. Open and as beautiful as ever! Rope swings have been removed.
  14. A reminder in case you witnessed, see the incident boards are still there asking for witnesses. Please contact police.
  15. I think some were approved recently, might be worth checking with your local councillor?
  16. We?re really enjoying quieter roads and have been able to cycle as a family for the first time. Covered quite some ground with the decent infrastructure closer to London. Can anyone recommend a good cycle route app - Google maps took us onto main roads this weekend 😬
  17. I hear there are some in Lettsom Gardens
  18. It?s much needed on Lordship Lane. Will help local businesses post-lockdown whilst social distancing is still needed. I see Lambeth has done similar in Herne Hill recently.
  19. There?s a met police ?traffic incident? sign at this spot now with a phone number to ring. Please call if you witnessed. 20th April 10.15hrs 020 7230 7650
  20. Yes there are suddenly significantly more cars on the road than the first few weeks of lockdown. Unfortunately lots are speeding dangerously, making it difficult and dangerous for people walking when they have to use the road to stay 2m apart. Shame too as many families had started cycling to do their daily exercise.
  21. TfL are funding so working very closely together.
  22. Police have arrested someone, let?s hope it stops.
  23. P16 of the evidence pack shows high volume traffic routes - this should answer your initial question regarding where traffic using the junction is going. Not sure how they?d be expected to work out of school traffic v thru-traffic tbh. It?s info from ANPR cameras.
  24. Suggest reading the documents Rockets before predicting catastrophe. This is phase 3 of the consultation, feeding back the solutions the local community chose to address the hotspots they identified. Not a top-down proposal being pushed by Southwark, they have learned from the past thankfully. Traffic flows are all in there.
