  1. Renata, is Harrie Girls ED undersubscribed?
  2. I just read on another thread that the furthest place allocated on distance for Sydenham School is 1.75km. Does anyone know where the nodal point is by any chance, please? I looked at the school's website but couldn't find any information. Thank you!
  3. Heard of the little girl killed by a car which lost controlled in the ice in Cornwall yesterday? Thought of the damage a bin lorry could do?
  4. Hi - I've been better, thank you, but feeling tired again of late. I need to get myself checked out and this info is precious so thank you. If I look at my life, I had two return trips to Yorkshire by car over half term to drop off and pick up my daughter and then a return trip to paris on Wednesday last week, which finished me off. There's not a single day in the week when I can have a lie in. I do too much - even if I have a great husband who cooks and does a lot of the childcare - I feel I'm always on the go. I'm also bored witless at work and I'm sure this is making things worse.
  5. I drive to Brixton which takes me about 10mns before rush hour. I've hired a parking space near the station. I go all the way to Marylebone and most of my travelling time is now spent in my warm car or walking to the station. Tube journey itself only takes 20mns. I know it is a bit of a luxury and not environmentally friendly but at least my money's not going to Southern. And there's no waiting on freezing platforms for a train to nowhere.
  6. It's shameful. I now use Brixton tube. No going back.
  7. I sympathise. I used to hear a neighbour's TV all the time. No problem with the next two lots of people who followed him. So it didn't need to be that way. I would just talk to your neighbours and if this doesn't work, then I'd probably move...
  8. Just like the LB work has resulted in no improvement for ED. We have a genius for wasting money.
  9. Thank you all. And sorry to hear that, charlotte. I'll have a think and come back to you.
  10. My Subaru was hit by a white vehicle (possibly a van) whilst parked on Dunstans Road, not far from Goodrich School. The driver didn't leave a note. Just posting here just in case someone saw something. Thank you.
  11. Sorry Damzel, just saw that your daughter is after non-sporty activities... Dulwich is all about sports unfortunately.
  12. Dulwich Holiday Drop Off takes kids all the way to 14. I don't think I'd like a year7/8 child on their own all day during the school holidays.
  13. Put 6 down. And wait for a place to become available at your favourite school. There's a lot of movement, including mid-year (not ideal, I know). Good luck.
  14. in my view the immediate after care on the post natal ward could help start ease if only a tiny weeny little bit of the trauma. Instead it adds to it. I was treated like a naughty school girl who has had sex and now had to bear the consequences. It's tainted my view of midwives if I'm honest.
  15. I used the trains from PR for the first time this year last week. Was surprised to see trains still terminating at South Bermondsey. And when I arrived at LB, the tube was closed because of over crowding. All this added 30mns to my usual commute via Brixton. For me it's Brixton Tube all the way.
  16. We're very happpy with Goodrich. We like its ethos and the fact that they educate the whole child as opposed to being focused purely on exams. We have specialist teachers for music and sports for example, which is invaluable. All the staff are nice and professional and don't appear to be overly stressed (hubby did teacher training and witnessed first hand the stress headteachers can put on staff and the negative effect it has on children. So for us, a relaxed school is absolutely key.) I thought the recent Ofsted report was absolutely spot on in its findings. If you read it, you'll get a good picture of what the school is like.
  17. Your poor friend. It's happened before to a supermarket delivery van. Same place. People tried to move it but it wouldn't budge. They also had to wait for the rescue.
  18. Oh wow - so many views! I'm doing better although today's return trip on the Eurostar won't help! Thank you all!
  19. Thank you. I've started being stricter with my bedtime routine and finding I am already sleeping better... About to start taking supplements (including vit D) and meditation with the app recommended above. I must say I agree about the clocks going back playing havoc with my sleep patterns and general well being... Thank you again!
  20. Choose a school close to you. We live opposite Goodrich. Drop off takes 5 minutes tops. Wouldn't change it for the world!
  21. Thanks all. Definitely need to go to the gp and take some vitamins. As for contraception, I am on cerazette. I need to check the side effects. Thanks for the tip re: headspace app. Sounds really good. Roll on Christmas!
  22. Just that really. Shattered. Not functioning properly, making mistakes at work, misreading emails, unable to get tasks finished, finding it difficult to get them started, unable to read with my daughter in the evening...I had some tests earlier on this year after I got stomach cramps and all was good so I don't think I'm deficient for example. Could it be the onset of winter? Any other busy mums feeling the same way right now? Any tips to get out of this rut? Thanks, Forum.
  23. We have both and hubby loves induction so much that he says we didn't need the two gas hobs.
  24. I don't think it was covered, Goldilocks. Charter gave us a full pack with a page per subject including curriculum and results. I can't find the equivalent information on Harris' website or open day material.
  25. Another recommendation for EOS where my daughter is blossoming thanks to her amazing teachers.
