Genuine academics are fine providing they don't use big words that I can't understand :)

RPC, if you read my post again you will see that it wasn't a general comment, but one made in reply to a specific post that contained derogatory remarks about people living in the countryside.

Quite a few newbies seem very familiar with the forum. I've said it before and will say it again. I'm really happy to welcome new members but as far as the re-incarnated ones are concerned, I can't even be bothered to respond to their posts anymore.

Eroguronansensu Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------ > The real question you should be asking or > answering is what gives anyone the right to kill > any animal just for fun/sport? > I've been asking this question for years. The correct answer is that nobody has the right. The problem is that many people don't even care.

Are you for real? What do you even know about living in the countryside unless you've lived there. As for foie gras, it is a well known fact that many meat eaters who have eaten meat all their lives and are quite happy to eat roast turkey, chicken curry, beef burgers, lamb shank, pork chops etc. refuse foie gras because of the excessive cruelty inflicted I just can't understand how people that know how it is produced can eat it without feeling sick to the stomach. ETA this reply is to misteaks post, not steveo's although his was bad enough.

AM, what I meant was that most people involved in animal welfare know what kind of people participate in various blood sports. Certain ones are practised more by the middle/upper classes because they have been brought up to think it is okay. I gave the royal family as a typical example because they have all gone out shooting on Boxing day from a young age, therefore a way of life to them. I was born in the countryside. It was only the people who had money & owned their own horse who went fox hunting. Again, they did it from a young age because their parents encouraged them. My family were working class & were always opposed to it. I'm not saying that ALL middle classes are pro and ALL working class are against. Just an observation regarding the majority. As for dog fighting, fishing etc I think that is mainly done by people who don't value the life of a living creature rather than a class thing. HMB, Hunting, shooting & fishing means going out with the sole intention of killing something. I'm sure racehorse owners don't race their horses in the hope that they will fall & break their neck. You can't really compare it with pre-meditated killing. And you make it sound like I'm down the bookies every weekend. One bet in years & can't even remember when I last had a bet before Silver Treasure!

Some posters on this forum are not even worth responding to.......... So I won't.

Robert Poste's Child Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Plenty of people who hunt, fish and shoot consider > themselves animal lovers Well then, they shouldn't because they're not. How can you possibly call yourself an animal lover, then go fox hunting & see a living fox ripped to shreds, pull a living fish out of the water & bash it on the head or shoot a living bird from the sky?!
-
And you obviously know best KK, being such an animal lover yourself.

Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What did Davis say about animal welfare apart from > ask a question? What clue is he missing? People genuinely into animal welfare don't need to ask those kind of questions because they already know the answer.

Davis is obviously a troll or doesn't have a clue about animal welfare. As for killing animals being a class thing, what were the royal family doing today?! Enough said. Steveo, those kind of comments are really not funny anymore.

So Millwall were hungover today......? It's christmas and all about priorities. If their priority was to have a merry christmas, drink loads & play shit football, good luck to them :)
