  1. The chip/curly potato stall prices were very reasonable. All the wraps & burgers were between ?5 & ?7 each which is a bit much if on a tight budget. There was a stall selling jerk chicken, rice & peas & salad for ?6. My daughter asked if she could just have rice & peas & salad without the meat & the guy said he would do it for ?5. Says it all really.
  2. Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today... Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one If this was reality instead of just lyrics, the world wouldn't be such a s**thole. Don't knock one of the most meaningful songs of all time.
  3. There was lots of vegetarian food available. Didn't try any of the wraps or burgers because the prices were way too high for my budget. The curly potatoes on a stick were wonderful. A really nice afternoon, made even better by the sun shining. Couldn't believe how busy it was.
  4. Their name was probably in the programme but mislaid mine somewhere. Agree it was a good festival. Best food had to be the curly chips on a stick? Longest queue of all but well worth the wait.
  5. The Beatles were NOT overrated.
  6. Really like 'Our Girl' & 'The Driver'. Both end this week but just saying.
  7. Kerrie-ann & Lola gone? Feel like screaming now!
  8. Maggie May-Rod Stewart
  9. And one for the Country & Western fans: Sunday Morning Coming Down - Kris Kristofferson
  10. Saturday night's alright for fighting - Elton John
  11. Ruby Tuesday - The Rolling Stones
  12. Didn't she have a nose job? God knows why. She looked better before.
  13. How can Louie choose those rubbish girls & that rubbish group over a better group & those cute little twins? Aghhhhhhhhhhhhh! The new boyband are ok though & they are asking people to suggest a name for them. I think they should be called 'Simon Say's'!
  14. All I know is that you can get a quick train from Basingstoke to Reading and to get to Basingstoke you get a SW train service from Waterloo or Clapham Junction. Might be a good idea to change the 'r' in the title to a capital letter so that people know it's a thread about Reading rather than reading.
  15. Ok. Bad suggestion then. Good luck though. Hope you manage to do it. Don't think I could.
  16. If I wasn't drinking I'd have to at least have something that tastes like it. Alcohol free wine is grim but most of the beers eg Becks blue are drinkable. It's a bit like eating quorn mince instead of mince. Mixed with a sauce, it looks & tastes the same so you can imagine that you are eating the real thing if that's what floats your boat (not mine though) Hopefully alcohol free beer will work the same way. If you have a really vivid imagination, you may even get a bit tiddly!
  17. The stupidest idea I've ever heard!

  19. I will put on my glasses & read posts properly in future.
  20. I must admit I rarely use it at night. Usually only during rush hour & the morning school run when it barely moves at all between East Dulwich Grove & North Dulwich station.

If he was speeding, but arrived in Putney at the correct time, he must've been running late. Otherwise he'd have arrived early & if he hadn't put his foot down, would've arrived late! :)
  22. I use the 37 every day & only rarely have I noticed speeding, obviously when the driver is running late. Most of the time they crawl along & I'm wishing they would go a bit faster, especially on my way home from work.
  23. Advocate is prescription only. Advantage can be bought on-line. The difference being that Advocate protects against lungworm (from ingesting slugs/snails) and Advantage doesn't, although it still kills fleas.

  25. The X Factor makes me realise how much I miss AC. She'd never admit it but I think she was just as addicted as me. Maybe he who killed her off could bring her back for the final?!
