Read my post properly! I said I sometimes go shopping straight from work. It's spontaneous depending on when I finish so unlikely to take a bag with me. So if the supermarket doesn't provide bags & I don't have a car, without bags it'll be difficult getting the shopping home on a bus. I can only fit so much inside my underwear/on my head! That's the logic.
  2. It's always best to wear dark suit & tie to a funeral unless told otherwise (I'd personally prefer blue & white at mine) As for seating arrangements/where to go after etc., I'm sure you will find all that out when you arrive. Just being there is more important than etiquette.

  4. Where do they go? To the same places as 20 - 54 year olds I would hope. And why not? You are as young as you feel and many over 55's still have the same interests as their younger counterparts and can still participate. They are not over the hill!
  5. I really don't care if they ban plastic bags in Lordship Lane because I can't afford to shop in such places anyway. As far as supermarkets are concerned, unless they are able to give away free recyclable ones which would be excellent, they couldn't possibly do away with carrier bags. If you have a car, no matter, but if you don't? I sometimes go to the supermarket after work. It's often last minute so I'm hardly going to take a shopping bag with me first thing in the morning. Plus I travel everywhere by bus so how are people like myself supposed to transport shopping if bags are not readily available?

  7. Riders on dirt bikes/ dirt bikers would have sufficed. The choice wording in the thread title says enough about the OP for me to really not care what he/she thinks about anything. After reading their subsequent posts, I care even less.
  8. My heart rules my head at the beginning of the season but when it starts getting serious my head takes over. Which is a shame because it then becomes a battle between the two and I end up in the middle!
  9. Premiership here we come! ;-)
  10. Is that a school photo EP? If so, you haven't changed much!
  11. To settle the argument: Quids is a cross between Hugh Grant & Simon Cowell Otta is a cross between Che Guevara & David Walliams So both have the X factor! When I was younger I used to be mistaken for Racquel Welch :)
  12. So ED is too snooty, Bromley is too chavvy, Peckham is too pretentious, Nunhead is a no-go area (although I like it myself) Where would you all actually LIKE to live? My first choice would be Brighton. But I guess you would find it too gay! Something that has never bothered me at all & every restaurant/pub are extra veggie friendly. As soon as I win the lottery I'll be there!
  13. Top four: (in no particular order) Man City, Chelsea, Everton, Spurs Followed by: (in no particular order) Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd Relegated: Burnley, Villa, WBA

Quite nice to be different rather than follow the crowd.
  15. I feel really sorry for them as he had such an impact in such a short time at the club.
  16. If you want to be totally baffled & enthralled at the same time, I suggest you watch one of the most ingenious films I've ever seen. The Prestige - Sunday night 10.00pm BBC2 Be warned though, if you blink, you'll lose track of the plot. Plus you really have to watch it twice in order to figure out what you've just seen so hope it is either repeated or available on iplayer.

  18. People who post on here pretending to be somebody/something they're not, just to get a laugh and think they're funny. They're not.
  19. Sorry to hear this RC. Hope you & your family are ok x
  20. Not sure. Just had a look but because I'm not keen on change, with me it's usually a case of 'better the devil you know.' And there is no way you can cheat on Predict Addict because all the predictions are confidential. No-one else can see them and it definitely isn't unreliable because I played every week with no problems. Do hope you reconsider AM. Maybe you could do both?
  21. I'm quite happy with the fee. I have the dog. Just need a fake 'other half'! :)
  22. Makes me sick too Louisa. I suspect playgrounds in East Dulwich are different to playgrounds on council estates elsewhere. I was just responding to posters who obviously have no idea of the difference & had no understanding of my original post. Sometimes you have to go against your instincts (report) & be nice/engage just to survive. You obviously don't have a clue either. The law will come down heavily on them?! Not where I lived. If the police were called, they all closed ranks. Nobody knew anything, nobody saw anything. Because they were scared.
  23. You may be surprised to learn that I have actually visited a playground. I used to take my children there all the time on the council estate where they were brought up. (Not that long ago) Where the 14/15 year old wannabe gangsters all hung out because they had nowhere better to go. They were rude, abusive & threatening. Whenever they arrived, mum's with kids made a swift exit. However, I made conversation with a few of them once who just happened to be there on their own. We talked about football, dogs, (can't remember what else) but they were quite happy to engage in conversation with both myself & the children. Next time we were at the playground, the whole group walked in. They kept looking over, obviously wanting to cause trouble if we didn't leave when I heard one of them say 'She's OK, leave her alone.' From then on they never bothered us. That's what I meant by my comment that it's sometimes better to befriend than make enemies of, if you feel threatened. Those 14/15 year olds would soon be turning into the 16/18 year old gang members that ruled my estate. That was inevitable. Where you risked having your head kicked in if you so much as looked at them the wrong way. The same ones who set my flat on fire. So to CocoC, New Wave, lounge lizard and Tr? who find my post so ridiculous, na?ve & hilariously funny............. You really haven't a clue.
  24. I remember when the only food you could buy other than crisps/peanuts was a ploughmans lunch.
