  1. I think it's either due to old age, too much alcohol or both!
  2. ...remembered anything!
  3. Losing to a penalty in added time when they had played so well, I would've preferred it to go to extra time.
  4. A brilliant comeback by Holland. Still not sure if they deserved it.

  7. Belgium winning & knowing I'm one step closer to my ?100 winnings. France winning & knowing I'm one step closer to my ?40 winnings. Every little helps!
  8. I don't remember cheese & tomato either. How long ago? Sounds yummy though. Yes, definitely try Bombay bad boy. It's VERY spicy but the best one in my opinion.
  9. Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Wow... that's a bit touchy isn't it?! Agreed. I use that word all the time in txts etc & I can assure you that I'm sincere.
  10. Origi was great tonight & apparently might be going to Liverpool. A new Suarez for the future maybe?
  11. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Did Netherlands used to be referred to as Holland > on British telly? Yes. That's how I still refer to them. Johan Cruyff used to play for Holland not Netherlands!
  12. For the first time ever, forgot to do my predictions so missed today's earlier games. Wasn't doing that well anyway. Posting this as a reminder in case anyone else has forgotten it's a new week.
  13. On the few occasions I've been away in the past, I've found the whole experience so stressful (not knowing what to pack, worrying that the house is OK, worrying that my pets are OK, wherever they happened to be) and tiring (too many late nights & early mornings, too much walking, way too much alcohol), I've always felt the need for another week off work when I returned, just to recover! To all those who have contributed to this thread & are going away this year (even if it's only for a weekend Jah), I hope you have a wonderful time. To everybody else, just think: You won't be spending any money, you won't have the stresses & strains caused by travelling & worries about what's going on at home. You won't suffer with 'holiday tummy'. Best of all, you will be sleeping in your own bed. Bliss!

The non starters Maxxi. The ones who should have done, but didn't.
  15. I'll probably be saying the same thing tomorrow if England play all their rejects, then go on to win.
  16. So why didn't Spain play Torres & Juanfran when it mattered?
  17. I've predicted Belgium to be in the final simply because I chose them from the start & put a bet on them to win. It was based on the fact that they have a lot of top class players. I admit they haven't been that great. I expected Lukaku to score a few times, but he's been terrible. Sticking by them though because they appear to be late starters in their matches so far, saving all the good stuff for the last ten minutes. If they get their act together early on, it may just come together for them. As for France, they've impressed me in both their games more than any other team so far.
  18. I had Portugal to win 2-1. Just shows. Different opinions, both wrong. Nobody has a clue really!

Where's the shame in a 'Sun' holiday? My daughter uses them every year. I would probably do so myself if I had more time/less commitments. Have a lovely time x

Would love to do a weekend but it's all down to money plus my too many commitments. Hence my post. I don't go anywhere!
  21. uncleglen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I stay in the UK- I love it. Only ever go self > catering, caravan or camping for 1 week. Just edited my post uncleglen because it was aimed at people who don't go anywhere. Years ago, I spent the week in a self-catering caravan in the UK same as you. But unfortunately, due to other commitments, unable to do this now. But agree, the UK is the best place to be. Wouldn't have any desire to go elsewhere.

Have day trips instead. One day we may win the lottery!
  23. I've given my predictions for final (will probably be wrong!) What are everybody else's predictions for final based on games so far?
  24. Quite funny JL. Maybe more so if it wasn't at Englands expense. (Still think it will be a Belgium V France final)
  25. Am I the only one who never goes on holiday? I have my reasons for not doing so but haven't been anywhere for 8 years and then it was only in the UK. Are there people in the same boat who, for whatever reasons are spending their summer in Peckham or ED & and quite happy/have no choice to be here, rather than on holiday? Would be nice to know I'm not alone.
