  1. Don't let it get to you JL. It's only an advert for a programme. Nobody is forcing you to watch it. So ignore it, chill out & have another beer :)
  2. As far as shops are concerned, it's the Northcote Rd area not far from Clapham Junction.
  3. If you acquire wealth it would take two generations to move up a place on the ladder? So if you don't win the lottery or come into an inheritance you will stay bottom of the class forever. Peckham Rye park is nicer than Dulwich park anyway.

So if you are working class, how would you classify someone on a four figure salary, who doesn't own their own home, and is struggling to survive? Under class? Lower Class? Bottom of the Class? And whatever box they fit into, will they really be enjoying life?
  5. I looked at 8.30pm and it was still allowing people to update their predictions for the Chelsea game. I sent them an email & they sent one back at 8.43 saying that it had been corrected. I had Chelsea to win 2-0 but it would've been easy to change it if I'd wanted to.
  6. I like to think that nobody took advantage of the error by Predict Addict this week. I reported it & it was rectified straight away. Could have done with 3 points myself but I don't do cheating.
  7. So did anyone predict a correct score or even a correct result tonight? I had a feeling about Palace. Wish I'd gone with it now.
  8. The new time displays on the buses. Saves keep having to get your phone out to see if you're late for work or not.
  9. Congrats on getting through RC. You are just too good at this! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-happy096.gif

I think most people guilty of this have a fear of being trapped/closed in. e.g. you are sitting next to the window, the bus is packed, you ring the bell. The person next to you has to get up to let you out, they can't get up because there are people standing in the aisle. They attempt to get up, but other people are also trying to get off. People are coming down the stairs pushing & shoving adding to the confusion. The driver just wants to close the doors & move on as quickly as possible. He doesn't care about people still trapped in seats, at the back, upstairs still trying to reach the door. Doors close, stop missed. I rest my case. Yes, I'm one of those annoying people who stand by the doors. With good reason.
  13. Louisa, Have you ever had this before? I only ask because the symptoms sound very similar to IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) This is something that you can suffer from on and off indefinitely. (I have it myself) You can go years without any symptoms but then something triggers it off. It can be anything from a change in diet to stress, to using antibiotics etc. IBS causes stomach cramps, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, bloating & flatulence. Buscopan is prescribed for this, but I find the only real cure is to alleviate the cause, stress, excess dairy etc. and take peppermint oil a few times a day. I hope it's nothing more serious than this, but if it continues you will have to insist that your GP investigates further. x
  14. 'This Woman's Work' was always my favourite. I still listen to it now.

How long does it take you to wash yourself drewd? I can do a pretty thorough job in 5 minutes. It would take me longer than that just to find the dustpan & brush!
  17. It's not just lack of funds, it's lack of time. People are too busy working trying to make ends meet.
  18. Killing animals for fun/sport is the same which ever way you look at it. But this thread is about the Hunting Act and thanks to Foxy, hopefully more people will have been made aware, followed the link and given their support.
  19. I was born in the countryside and lived there for 30 years, so I was surrounded by people who were brought up with hunting and thought it was ok. I also knew many people who loathed it. It definitely is not ok. Ripping an animal to shreds for sport is sick and barbaric. There are plenty of country dwellers who think the same as me. It's about loving animals and respecting a life. The people who agree with fox hunting are the same people who agree with shooting and other blood sports. To them, a living creature means absolutely nothing. Shame on them all.

  22. I don't think it matters what network you are on. There is never any coverage at Sydenham Hill.

  25. I reckon you are right too, but only Dopamine knows for sure!
