Would you say the Inverton stop is > closer to the junction of Cheltenhan/Ivydale than > the Merttin's stop? The Merttin's stop is only on one side of the road (going towards Lewisham.) The one on the opposite side is around the corner in Ivydale Rd, so isn't in use. Instead of turning left into Ivydale, the buses are going straight on, up Inverton Rd & the temporary bus stop is about two thirds of the way up. It's been there over a year, since the roadworks when the P12 was diverted for weeks. If Surrey Rd was my usual stop, I think it would be quicker to walk to the school stop on Peckham Rye (providing they will definitely be stopping there.) I don't think there is much difference between that & the Inverton Rd stop distance wise. Coming back, just ring the bell after Rye Hill Park & hope for the best!

Today, the buses coming from Peckham were turning into Stuart Rd & then stopping a few yards along, to let people off. There are police 'no waiting' signs along there though & no sign of a temporary bus stop, so I think it must be up to the drivers, whether they stop there or continue to the next stop at Merttins Rd. Coming from the other direction, they appear to be stopping at the old temporary bus stop half way up Inverton Rd, so tomorrow morning I shall wait there & hope for the best. I also saw a 343 stop at the school stop on Peckham Rye, so it would be a good idea if they opened that one all day, rather than just school hours, while the roadworks are going on.

Thanks for the info. Is it really for that long? The diversion signs say from 8.00 a.m. on 15th, so I just assumed it was just a few roadworks lasting for the one day! As you say, it would have been good if they put notices on the bus stops, but maybe they will, next week. If it is lasting til Jan, I suppose they will put some temporary bus-stops between Stuart & Merttins Roads.

Thanks First Mate, I will have a look. Huguenot, I haven't said vaccination isn't necessary. I'm simply asking people's opinions to help me make a decision, as I want to do what is best for my dogs. If I decide that yearly vaccinations are the best option, I will continue to get them done.

As there are so many dog owners on here, I would love to know your opinions on dog vaccination. Twenty/thirty years ago, if you had a dog, you just got their first vaccinations done as puppies, then their yearly boosters, without thinking about it, no questions asked. Things changed slightly, around 10 years ago, when a TV programme outlined 'over-vaccination'. It stated that dogs needed their initial course, but after that, there were pro's & con's to yearly boosters. One of the arguments was that the vaccines last a lot longer than a year, but vet's will never tell you this, as they are only out to 'line their pockets!' If you google 'pro's & cons of dog vaccination', there is a lot of info, backing up claims that over-vaccination can do more harm than good. Malignant tumours forming at the back of the neck (where vaccine is administered), vaccines (which are viruses), being injected regularly into the body, overloading the immune system & creating problems, rather than reducing them. Not to mention the chemicals/toxins that are mixed in with the vaccines. My two dogs were vaccinated as puppies, but I decided against their annual boosters, after reading an article about the above programme & doing some research. However, we moved to a more dog-populated area 3 years ago, so they have been vaccinated yearly since then. The reason for this thread: Their booster was due last month, so has to be done by the end of this month or whole course will have to be repeated. I've done further research on-line & read so many horror stories about I'm apprehensive about doing so. My dogs are almost 9 years old, (over-vaccination problems increase with age, because their bodies find it harder to cope with the viruses suddenly being injected into them), They never come into contact with other dogs, apart from every 4 months, briefly, at their groomers, They only get walked round the roads, never in the park. My daughters dog was vaccinated as a puppy, but has never been done since, & has always been fit & healthy. How likely is it to catch parvo/leptospirosis/distemper? Puppies maybe....but with a 9 year old immune system? Any thoughts, opinions from dog owners/professionals etc. would be appreciated, to help me decide. I love my dogs and just want them to continue living a happy, healthy life.

I have years of experience with dogs & know for a fact that every breed profile on the staff has always stated how they are 'people' dogs. They love children & make good family pets. However, most of the breed profiles also warn that they are not very sociable or friendly towards other dogs. This is precisely why staffs/pit bulls etc were always used in dog fighting. I was the one who First Mate was referring to in an earlier post, whose small dog was attacked by a staff who ran out of a gate. (It happened in Nunhead, not ED) Although my dog was fine, it has made me very wary of any staff I see when out dog walking. I now walk my dogs one at a time, so that I can pick mine up if I see one walking off-lead. I love all dogs, including the bull breeds & don't have a problem with them if I don't have my dogs with me. But they are unpredictable with other dogs & there should be a law passed, that all these types of dogs should be kept on a lead in public places.

Green Dulwich turns Blue

Why is everyone on all these threads, making such a fuss about the colour of the bins? Have you really got nothing else better to worry about? If it bothers you that much, google 'wheelie bin stickers', there are loads of sites that sell them, decorate your bins to your own individual tastes. I've put woodland animal stickers over all mine & they look really cool now! -
