A warning if you decide to collect 2012 tickets from ticket offices
aquarius moon replied to BB100's topic in The Lounge
Why is it always assumed that every single person has a drivers licence and/or passport? I don't drive & don't travel abroad, so have never needed either. Yet these days, they seem to be the only forms of i.d. that are acceptable. Ridiculous. -
Not sure this is a lounge issue but anyway: Samsung
aquarius moon replied to dulwichgirl2's topic in The Lounge
I have the Samsung Galaxy S2 & It's the best phone I've ever had. Think I'm actually in love with it as we are inseparable! -

After reading posts on here & reading the tfl website last night, I was under the impression that all buses operated by Abellio were involved in the strike & would not be running any services. Therefore, my daughter had to pay out more than she could afford, to get a cab to Elephant & Castle this morning. I now discover that the 343 has been running all day. She cannot have been the only one to have made unnecessary alternative travel arrangements. Judging by the above posts, she could have also walked to Peckham Rye & got either the 12 or 63, which were also supposed to be affected by the strike. Luckily I was off work today or I'd have had the same problem. However, I was forced to change my plans as I rely on the 343 to get anywhere. Why was there no specific information on the tfl website last night, stating which buses were still operating? Even if it was a limited service, it would have been better than nothing. In their link (that Bic Basher was kind enough to publish), of buses still running as normal, the 343, 12 & 63 were not mentioned. The lack of information & communication has been appalling. :'(

There are quite a few drowsy ones over in Nunhead too. I've bee picking them up from the pavement & putting them somewhere safe, so they don't get trodden on. Also seen more dead ones than usual so could be more of a widespread problem.

Thank-you all for the info. I'll check out their websites.

Can anyone please recommend any good places to eat, pub preferably, for one vegetarian and one meat eater, in the area of London Bridge station/Borough high street. Thanks

I don't have an Apple computer. I don't have an i-pad. I don't have an i-pod. I don't use i-tunes. So, I don't have, or need an i-phone. Did my homework, decided on an Android smartphone instead (galaxyS2) & never regretted it. I

Voted for Labour on all 3 papers. Probably didn't get me anywhere, But why change the habit of a lifetime? Never voted Tory & never will.

Mobile phone coverage in ED
aquarius moon replied to Mrs Nicklin's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Not sure about ED, but I left vodafone as the coverage in Nunhead/Peckham was dreadful. I'm with O2 now and never get any problems anywhere. -
I have 3 small dogs. They are not dominant, submissive or aggressive. In fact, they love everyone..... other dogs, cats, children etc. One of them was attacked a couple of years ago by a staff. He was on a lead at the time, the other dog wasn't. I posted about it on here.(luckily my dog was unhurt, shaken up, but not as much as I was) There were then a couple of other incidents in Nunhead cemetery where larger dogs took a dislike to mine, & only intervention from the owners prevented attacks from occuring. Now I am in the sad situation where we never go to the cemetery, never go to Peckham Rye park......Never go anywhere, apart from pavement walking on the lead. I take my dogs out one at a time now, rather than altogether, which is both tiring & time-consuming, If I do see a staff/bull breed/ large dog coming towards us, I cross over or pick my dog up. All because I don't feel safe anymore. The way things are going, it is only going to get worse. Small dogs will be always be at risk unless there is a law to prevent dogs running free in public places, by being kept on leads. And before all the responsible dog owners reply and say it's not fair to them if their well-behaved sociable dogs should be penalised by being kept on a lead........ Sorry, but I'm a responsible dog owner & I have to keep mine on a lead in order to protect them :(

Consultation on South of the Borough Event
aquarius moon replied to Renata Hamvas's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Because of the Peckham Peace wall, a 'Love & Peace festival'. Stands devoted to green/environmental issues/community groups etc., Local craft/trade stands, A few live bands, Childrens games, Healthy food stalls and/or vegetarian, Where you can sit on haystacks in the sunshine, on a sunday afternoon and drink pink lemonade! So that everyone can come together and celebrate a traditional festival based on love & peace, in a relaxed, chilled-out atmosphere. I've posted the above suggestion on their website :)) -

Where to livein Dulwich near DCPS
aquarius moon replied to mistymummy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
You can get a no. 3 bus from Crystal Palace, or the bottom of Gypsy Road/Hill along Croxted Rd that will take you quite close. It stops near West Dulwich Station which is within walking distance of DCPS. You can link up with this bus at Crystal Palace from most places in the area, including Sydenham, Penge, Forest Hill etc. -
What a shambles! People waiting at the Inverton Rd temporary bus stop for buses that were never going to arrive, Others, me included standing on the corner of Stuart Rd, ready to run in whatever direction the buses appeared from! Coming back from Peckham this afternoon, I was on a 343 directly behind a 484. The 484 carried straight on down Cheltenham Rd, whereas my bus turned left into Stuart Rd. Both buses are run by the same company. Are the drivers not told in advance which route they are supposed to follow or do they just please themselves? And if the diversion has ended, why are the bus stops still displaying 'not in use signs?'

I won't use the new ones on the trains, after getting stuck in one & not being able to get out. Another time, I saw somebody push the button on the outside, the door opened, and there was a person sitting on the toilet in full view of all the passengers! Bring back the old fashioned toilets with proper manual locks - far less stressful, and I would actually be able to travel from A to B without avoiding coffee or liquid refreshment, for fear of needing the loo!

Dulwich Fox, I'm interested in your comment that Dells are notorious in running slow. I just replaced a Dell laptop that was getting slower after a couple of years use, with a new one at xmas which seems to be slower & more problematic than the previous one. Hope it's just teething problems, but expected a brand new laptop to be so much better!

Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Eat the animals. Happy Christmas meat eaters. Mick Mac, That's a bit mean. Tom started this thread, so I replied to him personally. I also posted a merry christmas everybody on the 'merry christmas & happy new year thread'. This was meant for everyone, not just vegetarians. Although we don't have the same opinions, I still wish you a merry xmas & hope you are having a lovely day x
