  1. I agree that the excitement of series one was mainly due to the 'is he?/isn't he?' question, hanging over most of the series. However, now I have to keep watching, just to find out what happens next. Claire Danes is excellent. Can't compare it to 'Lost' or 'Prison Break' as I didn't watch either, so not sure what you mean Maxxi.

Probably better to have a new thread anyway. It is a new series after all.

Can't believe that she was even in the bottom 2. Also like Ella (think she will probably win) James is good. Rylan, no comment.
  4. Is this the best drama on tv at the moment? I think so (even though I'm a Dallas fan too!) Homeland Ch 4 sunday 9 pm. Brilliant, & as new series has only just started, plenty of time for new viewers to get addicted, like me.
  5. Just searched this & nothing came up. I'm sure there is a yearly thread on this somewhere. If not, guess this will have to be the new one!
  6. I rely on special offers/buy one get one free to survive. Therefore I only ever shop in supermarkets. Really envy all these people that can afford to buy in independant shops. (personally, can't even afford food shopping at all) If I ever win the lottery, will join you on Lordship Lane.
  7. I've just received an e-mail from a fellow EDF animal lover about this and it is something that has been upsetting me for years. Can something be done about this cruelty? If the councils use netting to deter birds from vacating/nesting under railway bridges etc, they could at least ensure that the holes in the netting/wire are small enough that the birds cannot get their heads through. Poor, defenceless birds are flying into this netting, getting their heads trapped & suffering a slow agonising death. If anyone knows of any locations where this is happening, please post here. I'll start with: Under Herne Hill railway bridge. I understand that people want to deter pigeons etc. but a deterrent isn't supposed to kill.

Can't recall reading about him in The Daily Star! Probably too busy reading about Celebrity BB. And I voted for Julian C to win!!!

  10. Watching Celebrity Big Brother final. Hope Julian wins!
  11. Are the BBC really showing NFL? If so, brilliant news. Yes, I do 'get' American football. Used to watch it all the time on Sky sports when it was shown live on a sunday night. Once you know how to follow the game, there's nothing like it. Go Falcons!
  12. Isn't there enough restuarants on Lordship Lane already? Proper shops would be good.
  13. Pigeons are not 'vermin'. They are living creatures.
  14. I hope Julian doesn't get evicted tonight.

Wouldn't it have been kinder to put him outdoors? What harm was he doing? Live & let live!
  16. Unfortunately my 13 year old cat was put to sleep a few years ago. One night, not long after, I heard her scratching in her litter tray, then felt her walking around on my bed. Only happened the once & never since. I was definately wide awake & not imagining it. Never believed in anything to do with ghosts before then, but do now.
  17. Slugs & snails are wonderful, fascinating creatures. I photograph them all the time & feed them in my garden. Especially snails. I love them. Really hate it when people talk about killing them.
  18. Daytime starts at 9.00 a.m. and ends at 10.00 pm. Occasional noise at other times is acceptable, providing it's not on a regular basis.
  19. It means chill out & put up with the inconvenience! If it carries on past midnight, you have reason to complain, but at 4.45pm? Enjoy the music & feel happy for them, that they have a lovely sunny day to enjoy their celebration. Does this happen on a regular basis? I think not. So why moan about a one-off event?

  22. Could it be that all these anti-Olympic posters are only feeling this way because they couldn't get tickets? I was lucky enough to go to an event where we won a silver medal. Since then I seem to be suffering from Olympic fever! I can't get enough of it & am watching TV at every opportunity, cheering on Team GB & feeling proud to be British. Being there, wrapped in my Union Jack flag surrounded by thousands of other supporters, had such an effect on me that I'm now watching sports that I've never been interested in before. Not sure I'd have felt the same if I hadn't actually attended. Being allocated the tickets made me feel part of it all, so I was seeing the whole games experience as something to look forward to, rather than an inconvenience.
  23. Big Brother starts in 10 minutes
