Quote: Actually hideously rude is being generous! Quote: Would you care to add some evidence that would go towards backing-up that so-far baseless assertion Immature, Pillock, Stupid oaf, Imbecile, Dumbass, Childish, Naive dreadlocked crusty, Illiterate cretin, F_cking idiot All the above words, used by you Scribe, directed towards fellow posters on this one thread. What exactly is your definition of 'rude'?

Roadworks/bus diversion Rye Lane
aquarius moon replied to Twirly's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
From the station, it's probably quicker to walk up Hanover park, beside Morrisons to Clayton Road. Most of the Southbound buses stop along there by the Clayton Arms pub, which also has a countdown display. It might be quicker than walking to the stops further along from Nigel Rd. -

I think you should just put him back in the garden, when your cat isn't around. I've found toads in my garden & don't live anywhere near a pond. I don't know where they come from, but he is bound to find his way home by himself. Quite often, they just live in damp areas of the garden under stones etc.

DJKQ - I have nothing against your friend trying to protect his chickens, although me personally, I'd try to re-inforce the chicken coop rather than kill the mink. That's not to say I don't agree with you, but Scribes argument is a different thing entirely. He is taking pleasure from killing an animal using an inhumane method of doing so. And for your information, I'm not a 'townie'. I was born and raised in the countryside. Shooting, hunting, farming animals, was all around me & part of everyday life. I remember as a child viewing the barbaric monsters that called themselves huntsmen, parading through our village on their horses, like royalty, then the poor foxes tearing through our garden being pursued by a pack of bloodthirsty hounds. I remember making friends with lambs & pigs, only for them to disappear & being too young & naive to realise where they had gone. I saw dead pheasants, wood pigeons, squirrels, deer & badgers, shot for meat, sport, who knows? Growing up amongst the cruelty and witnessing it, is the reason I turned against it, and gave me the views that I have now.

I don't know where you get the 'mind reading' from. I simply quoted his own comments about how he felt, from his previous posts. Maybe you haven't read the earlier ones.

Scribe states on page one, that he isn't interested in clubbing seals because there is no 'sport' in attacking a creature that is immobile. He also enjoys the tracking aspect and gets a spiritual connection from hunting an animal. He does it for pleasure, not because he is starving & has to eat. How then is it not a 'sport'? He uses the word himself! Anyway, what are you having a go at me for? There are plenty of other people posting on this thread who are opposed to his views and have put their point across.

DJKQ - I am not oblivious to what animals do to other animals. That is a different thing entirely. I'm against what humans do to animals in the name of SPORT. SCRIBE - I think you have succeeded in what you set out to achieve. You got a good reaction & your thread received lots of response. As for all the private messages of support, so you say, but I cannot imagine many people offering help to somebody who gets a kick out of posting all the gory details of a disgusting hobby and is being rude and disrespectful to regular forum users who have been here longer than you. Hopefully now you will crawl back under the stone from which you came. Or better still, re-locate to one of your places on the continent where crossbows are legal. Then you can happily go hunting with your lethal weapon. With a bit of luck, somebody will mistake you for a wild boar.

"Aquarius moon, I don't have a "sick hobby". You're predictable sticking your fingers in your ears and falling back on a popular rebuttal without offering a reasoned reply." I've already replied. You only see it as unreasonable, because you don't agree. I see any form of hunting as cruelty, whether it is fox hunting, shooting, or using a crossbow. Hare coarsing, badger baiting, dog fighting etc. etc. I am against all of it. Animals have a right to live on this planet, the same as us, without having to suffer the fear & pain inflicted on them by humans, just to give the perpetrator a cheap thrill. Are you telling me that the deer you hunt, do not feel anything, when you stalk, then shoot them with your 'high tec' bow & arrow? It is illegal here because it is cruel. Animals are living creatures, not just pieces of meat, put on this planet to be abused for your enjoyment. And I am not a hypocrite. I practise what I preach, so I hope your earlier post was not referring to me.
