What you buy depends on what you want it to do. My advice is always to buy the best processor you can afford....because that is what costs most to upgrade.

Who cares what they they are...they tasted nice LOL.... *just knew that fishing net would come in handy*

Low-life scum at Kings College Hospital A&E
DJKillaQueen replied to poppylucky's topic in The Lounge
Sigh...why does anyone even dignify the OP with a response. -
The question is, if money is being saved from a ring fenced account....what is that money then in turn being spent on within that ringfenced account...or are you suggesting that the money saved is being taken out of the ringfenced account and added to the reserves James? An answer on that would be good and then people can decide if they think the use of the saved money has more priority than lollipop patrols on crossings that have traffic lights (which is where I believe the cuts are being made). I personally have no view on lollipop patrols either way (I too saw voulunteers do that role when I was of school age) but an honest answer as to where the savings will be redirected would help.

That makes sense then. UDT probably pm'd Admin thinking that's the same thing. Easy mistake to make.

Is 'The Chair' different to 'Admin'? Because if so, that might explain missing pms (rather than calling someone a liar).

Yet another burglary in east dulwich
DJKillaQueen replied to sebadoh's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The stats released today show that burglary is up right accross the capital, so it's not just ED unfortunately. A sign of the times perhaps. The Police are always working to catch burglars and there have been arrests made over recent months. A burglary team were caught in Barry Road recently for example. The same goes for robbery. Three were arrested for robberies recently. We tend to hear about the crimes more than any arrests (for obvious reasons). What the Police can not do though, is be on every street corner, day and night, hoping to catch burglars in the act. They don't have the resources for that, but they will increase patrols in hot spots in the chance they get lucky. -
Dead fox in the stairwell at Nunhead Station

Ha Ha...where do you find 'em 'nette? -
The other thing they didn't do James was put notices on affected southbound bus stops along Dog Kennel, Champion Hill and East Dulwich Road. People were waiting for buses like the 484 at these stops with no idea that none would be coming.

Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > DJKillaQueen Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > I think prejudice and taste are the same thing. > > Then you're sadly misguided. Not really. prejudice can be defined as 'a preconceived preference or idea'. If someone decides they don't like a genre of music in it's entirety...so for arguments sake let's say R'n'B, then they'll never listen to any new R'n'B because they've already decided they don't like it - that's a preconceived idea.....and often that dislike isn't really based on any meaningful in depth exploration of that genre anyway. It's perfectly ok though...most people listen to music for fun and like music they feel affects them, or reflects them. That why there are so many different kinds of music and so many kinds of 'taste'...... ;-) *crossed posts with Otta - but he/she makes the same point*
-
But people often say someone is rubbish purley because they don't 'like' their music. And that's what irritates me. I don't particularly like the music of Lady Gaga, but that doesn't mean that she isn't good at what she does (she obviously is, and has a pretty good voice too). And that's also my point about festivals.....if you go to an R'n'B festival...you expect to see R'n'B acts. Glastonbury has several stages and is diverse in what it offers. Beyonce is as much in place there as anyone else imo.
-
I think prejudice and taste are the same thing.

Kool and the Gang...I thought they were dead lol.....but did have flashbacks to several teen school disco's watching their set :)).... And what paper was that Brendan??? Not that I have any urge to go out and look at it of course *cough*
-
Evil Kneivil.... now there's a thought.... Good post though Nette. lol Brendan......

Tricky was just looking for the badge that says 'I've been to Glastonbury' I think ;-)
-
What is wrong with you MP.....only those that like what you like now have taste? Just have a sensible discussion without trying to see insult in everything I write. Objective criticism is different to subjective criticism...that's ALL I am saying. I can see your point Bob. I don't agree though that Glastonbury should be exlcusive for this type of show or that. I watched Julian Temple's Doc on Glastonbury the other day and that charts the festival's evolution brilliantly. And it's had to evolve just because of it's success more than anything. I think the thousand's of people in the crowd were more than happy to see Beyonce there. And for me, that Glastonbury now beings together such a diverse range and style of act I think is what a music festival should be all about - a celebration of everything that is music...no?
-
There's no problem with that MP but it's hard to have a discussion about talent in the face of that kind of prejudice. I tend to think that those who really love music can appreciate the best of any genre/ type of music. I think it's too early to declare her as one of the greats Otta....I think it takes a whole career to define that but she certainly is one of the best vocal talents around at the moment and I think will only get better and better.
-
Jah...she is one of the most amazing vocal talents out there at the moment. Few are in her league. And I always think what makes for a good tune is subjective in the end anyway but songs like 'Listen' and 'If I were a Boy' are also great songs for their genre. In my experience, most people that dismiss Beyonce do so out of a blanket dislike for that genre of music. The Beatles released some right dross in the first half of their career but we hail them as one of the greatest ever. See what I mean? Hmm Bob...I actually thought it was a clever set. She totally understood that the crowd were not going to be solely die hard Beyonce fans. That Prince cover into Kings of Leon was cool. The all girl backing band is neither here nor there really is it, what matters is the overall show and she put on a good one I thought.
-
I nearly bit then Jah.....nearly.... but then realised you don't mean a word of it...well apart from the bit about the tits ;-) But to play along....what is the one good song?
-
Beyonce blew everyone else out of the water imo.....

Feature film crews start assembling at 7.30 in the morning with shooting from 8am to 8pm. Southwark rent out the car park as a unit base. The film company are not required to make room for normal users if they are renting the space.
