According to my dictionary my id is 'my unconscious instincts and impulses'. So I suppose I wouldn't know.

Thank you Asset.......I think. I'm not sure if I'm understood or misunderstood. I write what I think but if noone has anything to say regarding it then so be it. In answer to Jah Lush's question......I was an only triplet. me, my ego and my alter ego.

Hello Badger were you a twin?

On a different subject does anyone remember Neil Toibin? We used to spend many a time on our visits home listening to a couple of LP's my Dad had of performances of his. He was/is a great story teller/comic. Where can I buy anything of his? Anyone know? Does anyone remember the one about Noah's Ark and the Americans?

My opinion for what it is worth is that we are all in a minority......of one. We arrive here on our own and we leave on our own. It's an individual path and sometimes I think that surrounding ourselves by 'like minded people' can disadvantage us if what we have in common allows us to forget that. However if that doesn't occur to you (not you personally James)then we can comfort ourselves in what the world has to offer without ever wondering why are we here or even is there an answer to that question.

Macroban not really as I presume the bomb sites existed once upon a time. I was thinking along the lines of your chance meeting with aliens who wanted to take you to the planet Zarf but you didn't go as you had it on good authority from watching The Stars at Night with Patrick Moore what there was no such place. Thus something you didn't do in a place that wasn't there! I have a theory that there is nothing around the corner until you get there. No proof though. Declan

And you need one? If you are gay i.e. homosexual why have an evening that excludes others? I'm new to this forum but I don't understand the need to exclude people from anything. I could suggest an evening of drinks for left handed ginger haired people with a twitch in their right eye and at least one wooden leg. But why would I do that? I don't know. As it's a 'gay' event then presumably it's because you want to meet other gays with the prospect of a relationship. Don't mean to be harsh but i don't get it. There must be gay forums i presume.

Please clarify what 'gay drinks are'?

Perhaps you could start a thread on 'things I didn't do in places that aren't there'?

Macroban..............can u keep this going?

Asset Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > usual stuff I suppose - how to get to heaven, > reach enlightenment, nirvana, get off the wheel, > stop being reincarnated, avoid eternal damnation > etc etc etc. What is heaven.......somewhere we go to when we die? No proof of that. Besides what could be better than being happy and contented on earth? Reach enlightenment, nirvana.......same thing I suppose. How to get there.....follow the signs. To do this I suppose you have to begin looking for them! get off the wheel.......I think it only appears to be a wheel. Contentment isn't dependent on what we do. reincarnation.......what's wrong with that? Not that I know it exists though I like the idea. good old eternal damnation......who told you about that? I spent a good deal of my childhood thinking I would probably burn in hell. Now I think the only eternal damnation there is, is the one I choose. I don't have to though. I think Cat Stevens once wrote 'The answer lies within'. I agree, but don't think one needs a religion to assist like he subsequently did. Bored yet?

Peckham vs ED vs Beckhenham (swimming pools)
Narnia replied to bald marauder's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Why is that? Is it some sort of secret society where men are excluded? -
You have enough to deal with without etc etc etc methinks.

What do you think you weren't listening to?

I meant 'playing with words' in respect of their sense of humour. I take your point though about it taking forever to make a decision.

There was a long time ago.........Were you one?

I'm Irish but have lived here for years. Why it matters or is interesting how many of us live in the area I've no idea. I don't belong to an Irish club, I'm married to a Spaniard and my son was born in Kings. He has an Irish passport as it was the one we could get the quickest when we needed one. I don't think for one minute he is bothered by what nationality he is. I enjoy the way some Irish have a way of playing with words in conversation that tends to be beyond the understanding of other people, but in general the most important thing is that I'm human. Whatever differences we have we have more in common.
