  1. Wheelchairs as goalposts?

  3. Was the team name decided? Sounds like Dulwich Gerries would be good.
  4. If you choose to be a parent then surely work has to come secondary to your child's needs.
  5. Suppose anyone in a clean but unironed shirt must be a suspect.
  6. Ah Sevilla. I got married there to a native. Nice city but way too hot in the summer.
  7. How are you at parking a car LM? I have a theory that there are some things women weren't meant for. Likewise men of course.
  8. Why is that Keef?I wouldn't swap my son for a girl anytime. We had such fun when he was growing up even if I wasn't particularly into re-enacting WWF wrestling on the sitting room floor. I got great pleasure from watching him play football and I'll never forget his winning goal in a London Cup quarter final. On the subject of staying close in later years I mentioned earlier how big my family was. We met recently for the 14th annual competition of the Dwarf Cup. People came from Ireland, France and different parts of England to be there. The youngest was 50.
  9. Yes Mick I can. You still can't get away from the point that Uruguay got into the semi's deservedly.
  10. That depends where you acquired the ball. If you were onside when you got it you can run where ever you like......mucky style.
  11. Mick, your main arguement was that the wrong team reached the semi-final through cheating. It was cheating but they had been cheated themselves during the match. Besides the guy who 'saved' they goal didn't have the benefit of time to think about his actions.
  12. What about the blood on the shirt rule being compromised then?
  13. History of offside This is quite interesting.
  14. Now that's a great question LM. It can't have been there from the start. The game is simple without this rule and I imagine that's how it started out.I must read up on the history of the game.
  15. Ah shure that would hold the game up like the anti modern technology heads would argue. All those stretchers going back and forth would interrupt the flow of the game. Wouldn't it be better to have hidden trapdoors in the pitch so they could just be gone without any fuss?
  16. What do you think?
  17. Don't you think what the player did Mick was more instinctive than deliberate, though it's defined as 'deliberate'? I think the scourge of diving/feigning injury is much worse than an act like this. At least it's transparent and leaves no doubt.
  18. I didn't mean to imply you are American LM. It's just that Americans are, well, you know.........
  19. kpc Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It's nothing to worry about. Many footballers have > had successful careers at the highest level being > blissfully unaware of the offside law. I think the above is what you meant to write kpc.
  20. I saw the advert for the festival LM. That was Declan Nerney not Narnia! I stayed well away. Can't stand Irish country music. This may explain why..........
  21. Well my mum must really have resented me. She started with a girl and followed that with 7 boys, I being number 6. My sister got to be Snow White...............I was a bl**dy Dwarf! You might dislike the boys you've seen but you did marry one! I think you will soon see that you are lucky and so will Dad. He will be able to do boy things with his son that he wouldn't be able to do with a girl. You will be glad of the rest when this happens.
  22. I thought you understood the point I made previously Mick that the free kick awarded leading to the handball incident wasn't a free kick and that Uruguay should have been awarded a penalty beforehand. How can you call them cheats?
  23. Normally those two would include the goalkeeper. So if you are at least level but not in front of the last defender in an imaginary line across the pitch you are onside when the ball is played by one of your teammates. Have you thought of being a goalie?
  24. Offside for Americans This should do the trick LM.
  25. Emma doesn't sound at all Brazilian. I know the Brazilian football manager is looking for a job. What are the requirements?
