  1. daizie that was very elitist and snobby of you. not everyone can afford to live in nice houses and many housing estates are pleasant and have good people living in them too. Not all housing association and council estates are full of criminals. How do you know that it would be horrid to live there? I should have thought the view would be great(er than even the one I have!)
  2. Dawson Heights is an estate of ex council blocks on Overhill Road and the land in front of it furnishes the viewer with the best views of London. To my mind it beats Primrose Hill views any day of the week. Even better views can be seen from Canonbie Road - or better still the back gardens of the people who live round there, but Dawson Heights is brilliant. I've not been in any of the flats but often ride past there and stop to have a grin break*. Seeing New Year in from there is a regular thing too, indeed pretty much every twelve months. *I don't smoke.
  3. Thanks guys! The owner of the dog was just out of shot and the dog seemed fine. I am not scared of any dogs (or any thing, to be frank) but he is rather adorable and I'd love to let the owner know!
  4. They can't find the source of the gas leak. So they keep on digging....
  5. Some of my jobs I do are the best, and I am lucky to be paidto do what I love, but in the past working in any of the jobs I've done dealing with The Public.
  6. So Myleene Klass is at home and her baby's upstairs and she sees potential burglars trying to break in so she waves a kitchen knife at them from within her home, and the police tell her off. Did I get that right?
  7. I think this is a drawing room subject. But having said that, I don't think it is a matter of necessity or not, I think the point is that here we have yet another LAW made for us by a party that just loves making laws saying what we can and can't do.
  8. The Thames at Chiswick by Fullers Brewery. And that's all folks! But don't forget to tell me if you know the owner of the dog in the first picture.
  9. 3 more from Morden Hall and Morden Hall Park.
  10. Falcons at Trafalgar Square Peckham Rye Park! Morden Hall Morden Hall Park (really beautiful!)
  11. And this is a little known area of London, a tiny loop of the River Lea, made into an Ecological Park. Right next to A13 and a big roundabout! You'd never know it was there if it weren't for the signs and one's curiosity. The first one is more a view from it.
  12. Hi all So I thought you may like to see some recent London photos. But first question is, whose dog is this? I am always asking dog owners on Peckham Rye Park if I can photo their dogs! And this is a sculpture made all of chocolate at Harrods, which to my mind is a waste of chocolate. And the tour of the Fullers Brewery someone recommended we go on in December! I can only seem to post two or three photos per posting so this may go on a bit.
  13. Liverpool Street Station to White Hart lane ?3.20 Return ?5.40 BUT Single journey there Oyster ?2. Therefore return on Oyster another ?2. ?4 is cheaper than ?5.40. And yes, I had to do that trip today and all over London using Oyster on trains tubes DLR and busses for 8 hours!
  14. Woodpecker, having a bash at my birdfeeder, 3 floors up, this morning. Soo beautiful, and made my morning.
  15. But have you seen it yourself? Oh and Kim Noble at Soho Theatre - it's the last night tonight, very disturbing. Saw him last night. But DO go Ashcroft Theatre if you can to see Pete & Dud. They've added more material since I last saw this show and I'll be there again tonight.
  16. Oyster card Keys Inhaler Mobile
  17. It's certainly worse if you have a motorcycle! But busses are working and so are good grippy soles on warm boots. Take care out there!
  18. Tonight only, at the Ashcroft Theatre in Fairfield Halls, Croydon at 7.30pm Goodbye, Pete & Dud in the Afterlife Facebook page with more details. I've seen it before and I'm seeing it again tonight. Highly recommended. And it's the 15th? Anniversary of Pete's death.
  19. Great photo, and baby beautifully presented too! Congrats!
  20. That's exactly what happened, your honour...
