  1. Dangerous dogs sold in pubs in London, and discussing the fact some have to be put down.
  2. *yawns*. In other areas Admin would have stepped in and told folk to keep to the thread....
  3. It's not advertising! It's suggesting people give blood and write a will.
  4. I think one should have a dog license too, not necessarily a huge amount of money but maybe like owning a gun you have to apply to the local police or something. Ohhhhkkkkaayyyyy maybe not that bad! But you should certainly have to register somehow like licensees do to the local council. Maybe only for bruiser type dogs though. I don't know. But something has to change.
  5. Nope, not even ones reminding people to give blood and write a will. It's barking.
  6. ambition
  7. Christ almighty what is so dangerous or unfavourable or unfair or unreasonable about reminding people to write a will and GIVE BLOOD! What is wrong with you! I don't just remind them I provide links so they can get to the relevant pages. It's a service! What's wrong with that! Now you're just being difficult.
  8. 53 year old. Breast cancer. I'm doing the funeral soon. Oh sorry(!) But I am promoting donor cards wills and giving blood and stuff. Which is still allowed, it would seem.
  9. And now I have had my signature doctored too. I can't advertise in what's on section every time I do a funeral. Not happy. Should I delete the bit reminding people to do the good things like donor cards blood donations writing a will? I've had PMs and emails thanking me for reminding people to do that sort of thing. I try and be community concientous.
  10. Just seen thread in About the forum thread. Sorry folks!
  11. Excellent post, Huggers. And did you mean middle class riff raff MitchK?
  12. What Cassidy said. I know quite a few staffie owners and those dogs are the softest and well loved, because their owners care. Actually - the same can be said of kids - sorry to make that link, but it's true! I love dogs and am always asking people with dogs I see in the park, "Can I photo your dog?" The very very few dogs I see who appear to be with irresponsible owners are a tiny minority. The guy who wrote way above happens to live in a street with 2 irresponsible owners, so his experience is skewed. When I was a kid I walked my dog for miles around the coast of Thanet. Usually off lead. Me and my dog were best mates. Now, one is NOT allowed to walk ones dog on the beach there at all. Even on a lead. How sad is that. So don't let that sort of reactionary nonsense happen on our parks!
  13. And the range of professions /job descriptions - I wonder if that is typical of any area in London?
  14. We should change the title of this thread now to Woodie's attacker dog owner Watch! Well spotted Lollipop! Whilst VikkiM's thread is welcome news, I'd love to know if there are any boroughs that HAVE successfully cracked down on the irresponsioble owners of perceived dangerous dogs (note my wording!). In the meantime, the SNT (who never reply to my emails by the way) should - as you say - take it seriously. I will raise the issue at the next police ward panel if I remember, but I do recommend you come along. Bring Woodie if he is up to it. I shall post a note on the Lounge (I am not allowed to post it in ED forum) when the next Police Ward Panel is due.
  15. giggirl you go to centreparks? ME neither. I got PAYG Vodaphone and a 3G phone which lets me connect to internet when it's absolutely necessary (rarely) for 50p a day.
  16. I can't remember if you posted this or not, but did you have pet insurance? Whatever the situation is, when we find this man, I'm wondering if you have some sort of legal insurance cover and you can sue him for the vet fees? Just wondering. Sue Fox the council housing officer sends her best wishes to you both and says she does not recognise the man or dog.
  17. Things that are worrying me this week? Another week without not enough work. So I stay at home to write and realise I spent too much time on here and listening to Talking Heads and fIREHOSE.
  18. Well I hate to say this but I have a few friends who are in their sixties and seventies and they are single and have been for years and they are the happiest people I know. Being female they're self reliant and can get things done themselves rather than having to wait for someone else! Having said all that, it is NOW that matters and you're hurting and that's crap and I am so sorry. May I offer one piece of unsolicited advice? Get to know your strengths. Get to pamper yourself. Get to treat yourself. Realise you are worth the effort. Christ I sound like I should write a self help book. After I chucked my boyfriend before MrPR, I was on my own for 2 years. I really really learned to trust myself and learned my weaknesses and my good points, and I did sulk and I did have times where I couldn't be bothered to go out for weeks, but slowly it started happening. The girlfriends did not let me go, and then I met MrPR through a Time Out ad. Go out and get what you want. Life's generally shit for many people, so get all the enjoyment you can and spoil yourseld rotten. You deserve it. Then when the time is right and you're feeling strong and fabulous again, go out and get him. He may be reading this thread and he'll be at a monthly EDF meet, or he may be on a bus. But avoid the dating agencies. But that's for the future anyway. Give YOURFABULOUSSELF some time.
  19. Peckham Rye and Nunhead Safer Neighbourhood Team 020 8721 2443 It may go to an answerphone but it will be collected. If it is answered someone could be there sharp. But do tell them. It has already been said that the owner works in MK plumbing in Nunhead, and that the owner lives in Nunhead so therefore he is on 'my' SE15 side of the park, and thus I am sure the above phone number is the correct one as the whole park is included in that area I am sure.
  20. Watchdog
  21. It's all coming together via this wonderful forum. I so hope this owner is prosecuted. I shall certainly keep a look out and very discretely photograph him and dog, too.
  22. Make your own! Put the best ingredients you can afford. Don't look like a twat sat in the window seats of Starbucks or what have you drinking a ?2 mug of coffee that doesn't even have alcohol in it! I do not have any machines for sale so just trying to help.
  23. You have described dog and owner well (assume owner white? How tall? Tattoos? Glasses? Medium or stocky build? Do tell us.) and that he came from Nunhead. Which means he may enter the park from that corner and walk up. I shall definitely keep a look out for him on my side of the park and report (and follow if I am on the bike and he is not in the park) and report. Should a load of us all arrange to be in the park on about 8.00am next Saturday morning? I am not an early riser but it would be good to do something like this. Then we could all bring cameras and photograph him and his dog. I'll wear my crash helmet, motorcycle gear and steel capped boots and gloves. Because it may be cold. Should we could we all do this though?
  24. I am so sorry to read this. The police and Safer Neighbourhood Teams were out on the SE15 side of Peckham Rye Park last night and their email is [email protected] (I shall email them with the thread of this topic anyway but if anyone else knows this dog do let them know.) I have also emailed a local housing officer who may have some ideas. This is so sad. Best wishes to you and your little dog. Edited to rewrite it because I missed some pertinent points!
  25. Jeremy, to the many African folk who shop and socialise in the stores (for example, the nail and hair shops are open very late and are more like social clubs) Rye Lane is not a bit of a dump. Elitist Snob you!
