Lordship Lane, near SMBS and Therapy Rooms. You used my real name and said hello to me like we'd been friends for ever and I turned and said "Oh hello" like I knew who you were. I do not. You are white female in your 20s maybe early 30s with shoulder length black hair and about maybe 5ft 6 though you may have been standing on the pavement whilst I was crossing the road. Annnnywayyyy, whoever you are, nice that you said hello to me and forgive my honesty in admitting my mind did a blank and I don't know who you are really, though I made out like I did!

Love David Lynch too! And yes, Twin Peaks. But ALSO The Straight Story!

Oh contraire. If SOUTHWARK wants to do it, or Government, then we can. If it comes from the top, we can. If WE want to do it, then we have to jump through those financial hoops. Why not have it in your nearest park. OR the street nearest you that the Council have closed off (they've closed off several round here to 'prevent' cars doing rat runs to Nunhead), so you won't get in the way of traffic. Well, 'cept us pesky bikers...!

I suggested an idea that would save money at Kings whilst showing it had forward thinking and sideways thinking and upside down thinking philosophy. I suggested that they employ a hypnotist. I had to have a small procedure - a biopsy - a while ago and there was no way I could let them do it just with a local anaesthetic. A hypnotist could have helped. But I had a general anaesthetic instead. Lots of the individual members and governors I've met liked the idea. It JUST needs a little harder push. But MM I do believe that Kings' individuals - the staff and governors, are chomping at the bit to move forward but the government is that bit that just gets in the way. There were a lot of public meetings over the last few months and they have taken on board quite a few points we made which they had not thought about, and are taking them on. If the Govt lets them. But of course it's not perfect and I do agree a Leader is important. I really was impressed by the Medical Director. He still has his own clinic and yet also was the Dean and now the Medical Director. He lives in Camberwell and is passionate about his hospital.

We are in Southwark Council. There's your answer. Licences don't just print themselves yaknow! ;) You'll also have to alert the police probably too. And us!

assault at corner of Northx Rd and LL.

Did the right person get the headbutt and the kicking though? And hoorah for people giving evidence and not just refusing to get involved as they usually do! -
I am a Member of Kings College Hospital Foundation Trust and am thinking about applying to be a Governor. Recent meetings have been very interesting in the way they have shown us how forward thinking they (at Kings College Hospital) are. Example: they are excellent in liver transplants because the study and the science and the learning behind it goes on right next to the actual patients needing the help. (Incidentally, this will mean more helicopters rushing people to Kings in the future.) One of the questions I asked, at the last meeting, of Professor John Moxham, who is the enigmatic and outspoken MEdical Director, was "Do government targets get in the way of your trying to be a good hospital?" And he answered in many cases, yes. And he gave very good examples. He ended by saying that when Kings is allowed to set its own targets, with the medical experience to know what is realistic and SAFE, they can reach them. Despite SteveT's negativity, Kings is a force and the likes of Prof Moxham are part of that force. He and his colleagues and the governors are passionate about it and fiercely protect it. Do go to the Open Day in July. I am a regular outpatient of Kings and rely on it for my constant wellbeing. Anyway, to the question of the topic. I think the NHS can improve and change for the better when the government stops meddling and lets it get on with it. But yes of course it needs outside help in some areas and I am sorry the right job has not come up for you, MM. Have you thought of becoming a Member of Kings and working your way in that way? If you really want to work for the NHS, you really must keep trying and showing them with your considerable skills and experience what you can offer. And often the Person Specification includes things that you may not have, but when they see that what you do have makes up for it, they might realise you may be the best person for the job. How well do you know the NHS? Are you a patient or do you have private healthcare? (Rhetorical questions also!)

No, this post made me sad, so I will delete it. (SOBBBS). -
Beginning of The Player. One long uncut seen. 8 mins I think it was. And of course the Roger Moore Bond where he does the Union Jack on the parachute thing.

They're chained to their perches, and the otters ate 'em. -
Is this the program where they had to rebrand Margate? Is it worth me watching that on iPlayer? I grew up in Margate and have never seen this programme before. I want to see the ideas, I certainly don't care for the egos which is why I don't normally watch it!

When Dartford Crossing seriously said they were going to charge bikers, thousands of bikers thought they'd make a little point about how unworkable that would be, and they drew up to the booth, stopped their bikes, went through all their millions of zipped pockets and took lots of change out, dropped it, retrieved it, counted it, lost count, counted it dropped it...... you can imagine the fun ... did their zips up, got on their bikes, rode off slowly. We now don't pay to cross Dartford Crossing. I will consider doing the same sort of thing at the petrol station. But more likely take my money elsewhere!

Queues at Lordship Lane Post Office
PeckhamRose replied to Sue's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The Lordship Lane Post office is my local, now, and I can never predict when there will be no queues. Monday morning at 11 it can be empty. An hour later queue out the door. But I am patient because it is not their fault, and they're very friendly and kind, and Nilesh the post master is the chair of the Police Ward Panel, so an important and contributing member of the local community. -
I am of the belief that anyone who wants to be a politician should be barred from being politicians. And I do not want to be a politician...

I've been using the jet garage to fill up both bikes (no, not at the same time...) for over 15 years and always make a point to say hello to them and they ask me how I am and they are friendly, and I am friendly. If they DARE do this to me, I shall tell them I will take my business elsewhere. If they exempt ME however, I shall tell them that I will take my business elsewhere anyway as a mark of Solidarity with my fellow motorcyclists.

It's a class issue, bloody snobs. The man is just trying to earn a living. Pahhh.

Flyposting and the community
PeckhamRose replied to Green Goose's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Oi, stop tarring everyone with the same bruch. I check the garage when I see nearby lost cat posters and I did take all the posters down I put up when my cat went missing. As for Southwark notices, once again they are being hypocritical - it's a bit like the BBC who DO show adverts, but for their own shows. Southwark notices often do stay up beyond the reply-by date, and so some of us tear them down for them. We really should be more proactive and do things ourselves and stop whinging. ;) -
Scammed on Lordship Lane - not sure?
PeckhamRose replied to wee quinnie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
They ALWAYS strike when they see your brain is occupied on something else. In this case, cheese, money, etc. Also, beware someone who starts talking to you as they hand back your change. They know you're too polite to not reply rather than count the change they gave back. PeckhamRose - in love with Derren Brown and The Mentalist.
