  1. I Do, Too. When it is a title.
  2. This is so dreadful. We do need to watch out for this, as I remember hearing a few years ago that the culprits are often terribly nice ladies from Dulwich who consider that as rate payers the plants belong to them anyway. But we shall all be village-ant...
  3. Go to the next Police Ward Panel for your area with the print out of this rant, and demand an explanation. This is ridiculous and awful and my heart goes out to you.
  4. When you have ridden a motorcycle, and a tank, and taken sheep across a bridge, landed a helicopter on Goose Green, then you'll be an all rounder. When Exhibition Road does it's number getting rid of all lines signs and people start paying attention on the road and pavement amalgamation, I think Southwark Council should get on the case and nominate Lordship Lane for experiment number two.
  5. If you have say ?3m to spend but find a house for ?2m on the 'better' road, could I have the difference please?
  6. I am glad this worked out well but - well, it could have gone the other way if someone ELSE had just seen those keys and nicked them hoping to find a car they worked on.
  7. You lot worry me. The offer is off. It was genuine. Byeee
  8. This is shocking - or could be. I mean, did the head look cut off or torn off. If torn off as in run over by a car, that's bad enough, but if 'cut' off, should the police / RSPCA be involved? This has quite upset me!
  9. Two people walking down the road woke you up? What were they doing that elicited such noise? Did they have tap shoes on? Were they grossly overweight and thus causing reverberations to the structures? What what? Nice post, though!
  10. I don't have the testosterone to race. I really do ride sensibly and carefully, and have always done so. I have a Virago 535cc. And Ted Max if you'd like - be happy to ride you round town. I took my 76 year old Uncle on the back a year ago; he was over here from NZ and said the day on the bike was a highlight. PGC I really do think your concerns are holding you back from having a great time. After all, I don't want to kill myself, do I. So if I ride safely to keep ME alive, you'll be alive too and you'll have had a great time!
  11. I have to say I am mightily impressed. I could do stuff in mIRC but not in these pages.
  12. You have kinda missed the point. I ENJOY doing this and taking my friends and visitors from UK and rest of world on my bike round London! Seriously, anyone fancy this ride? One afternoon in August I would love to take someone for such a ride for two or 3 hours. Marmora Man? Giggirl? Bellenden Belle? Huggers? D Carnell? PGC?
  13. I throw my guests on the back of the motorcycle as it really is the only way to see London from the back of a bike. I ride them round the isle of Dogs and to Mudchute City farm and then back under the tunnel to Stave Hill, from the top of which are fabulous views. Then a run over Tower Bridge and through the City and a stop at the base of the Gherkin and a stroll round Lloyds and Willis Buildings, and then back on the bike and through the City and St pauls obviously, the Inns of Court and then north of Oxford Street and BT Tower (Fitzrovia) and then down to Hyde Park and stop at the Serpentine, then down to Chelsea, Worlds End, then over to battersea Park, and back home for tea. Sometimes we'll start further east at the City Airport. Sometimes not. Depends. I was thinking of starting a business taking people round London whose partners were on business in London and they had spare time so i could take them around. I know London well and it would be fun, but I am not an entrepreneur and I couldn't be arsed. If any of you lot would like me to take you round though, I'd be happy to oblige. We could discuss recompense another time....
  14. The title of this thread won't 'alf appear confusing... um... tomorrow.
  15. Grass and weeds is hardly litter, is it. Stop whinging! Phone 'em up and / or write to the councillor of your area. What Nero Said!
  16. Yet all those people are in love with you?
  17. T Brown have the contract for gas on Rye Hill and other council estates. But not for longer; they've had too many complaints about the quality of the work - allegedly.
  18. I quite like Laurence - why do you refer to him as a 'tool'? He cares alot and works hard, and it's hardly his fault Youngs have done their heavy handed corporate number on the place, is it!
  19. Just saw a kestral, yes a kestral, with a mouse in his beak, being chased by a magpie!
  20. It IS a hike, there's them buggies in the way! But if all the clothes shops were all close together we'd realise just how similar all their stuff is.
  21. Hahaahahahahahhaa! Brilliant.
  22. Louisa is not just a snob she's ignorant. They are not dirty; but any smell may as mentioned above be due to the meat. I have not seen behind the counters, though. They may be dirty there, but I doubt it. Trading Standards and so on are pretty active undercover in Rye Lane.
  23. As much as I adore our Eileen MBE the constant attempt to bring constant distinction to Peckham Rye Park SE22 and Peckham Rye Common SE15 is only of importance to cartographers and politicians. It's Peckham Rye Park to me, every glorious green open and closed space of it. And we cherish it.
  24. When she dies I hope that the Queen dies a day later and spoils her thunder. I'm not a Royalist either, but the Queen does less harm (tho obviously the monarchy as a whole, might).
