Peckhamgatecrasher Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Will the architect fall on his sword this time as > well? 1) Are you saying there's knife crime in Walworth? 2) And no, not this time, because this time it is not one architect to blame. It is all Committees nowadays, and as mentioned above the Council has made sure that The People are Consulted so it's their fault.

Looks like SOuthwark Council made a massive architectural error in those days. My ex boyfriend's Mum lived in Portland Street in a back to back which was torn down also. BUT we have to look forward and you never know, they may not just get it right with these plans and high rises, but it could be a world leading architectural centre of excellence. (Which means everyone will learn from the mistakes THEY make!) I'm cautiously optimistic, I think. Long as we can still get to the bridges without being squeezed in to one lane to do so.

Yeah alright. Lunch at Bish? -
What do we think. Not that it will make a difference, they're going ahead with President Clinton loving it. But what do WE think. I went to the Building Design place on Store Street off Tottenham Court Road, and saw the plans there. It all looks very positive and modern and gleaming and of course, "green". I wonder if President Clinton has actually seen it as it was? I saw a map on one site where the traffic coming up Walworth Road will have to do a right at Heygate Street and hang a left at the top joining everything else from New Kent Road, because the roundabout it would normally head for will be pedestrianised at that point. More information.

The outrageous case of Singh versus the chiropractics
PeckhamRose replied to Reg Smeeton's topic in The Lounge
McTimoney Chiropractic works for me! I knew about this because the British Humanist Association had links to it. I couldn't go last night, and thank you for alerting people to it here. It really is ridiculous. D Carnell - no real proper chiropractic would seriously claim to cure an ear infection with bone manipulation, but if there is a blockage, the manipulation may unlock/prevent the pushed-together bones from causing that blockage again. Then tell the person to get treatment for the remaining gooey infection. -
Just seen the Party Political Broadcast on behalf of the English Democrat party. Wonder what they'd do?

Yes it wasn't a helpful post, was it. "Sheriff" is the surname of a photographer. There is a stand in the East Dulwich Warehouse (Zenoria Street off Lordship Lane, on the right as you walk up from the Goose Green Roundabout) by the Sheriff photographers. They may even be sponsors to this very site!

Dulwich Fair - blustery but a good turn out..

After posting above I looked on VCF's website and someone mentioned there was llamas and I thought it a bit small for them. Mudchute City Farm is massive, and as a result of VCF'spost above it looks like indeed Mudchute is the only farm in London indeed that has Llamas, my favourite animal. Having said that, I am sorry I could not come but it's great to read everyone's posting! -

I LOVE THIS FORUM! Hi Nik! Thanks for putting my confused mind at rest; I KNEW you would be a member of EDF! -
So which if any political party is these days the most NHS friendly?

I write a diary every day, have done since I was ten. Can't stop now. Never look back though, but can't start the day unless the previous day has been downloaded... So tend to write at night. But no, never look back. No point in regrets! At least on here people can edit what's written afterwards!

She got her record deals through hard work and word of MySpace. No, seriously. But I bet her Mum (film producer Alison Owen who produced Elizabeth and loads of others) and Dad Keith had something to do with it. Far too many famous kids of famous parents around at the moment!

Then it wasn't you. "She" definitely used conditioner. -
I think she has dangerous looking eyes like her Dad; eyes like Jean Reno and Eddie Izzard. Difficult to explain really. Still, I used to babysit her you know. But only when she was a baby. Maybe that should have gone in the "Things you didn't know about forumites" topic. Oh well, it's out there now.

That's so sad. I do hope he is found or comes back home. I know nothing about rabbits, that is a sad story and when next I go to Sainsburys I shall look around the park area!

Lordship Lane, near SMBS and Therapy Rooms. You used my real name and said hello to me like we'd been friends for ever and I turned and said "Oh hello" like I knew who you were. I do not. You are white female in your 20s maybe early 30s with shoulder length black hair and about maybe 5ft 6 though you may have been standing on the pavement whilst I was crossing the road. Annnnywayyyy, whoever you are, nice that you said hello to me and forgive my honesty in admitting my mind did a blank and I don't know who you are really, though I made out like I did!

Love David Lynch too! And yes, Twin Peaks. But ALSO The Straight Story!

Oh contraire. If SOUTHWARK wants to do it, or Government, then we can. If it comes from the top, we can. If WE want to do it, then we have to jump through those financial hoops. Why not have it in your nearest park. OR the street nearest you that the Council have closed off (they've closed off several round here to 'prevent' cars doing rat runs to Nunhead), so you won't get in the way of traffic. Well, 'cept us pesky bikers...!

I suggested an idea that would save money at Kings whilst showing it had forward thinking and sideways thinking and upside down thinking philosophy. I suggested that they employ a hypnotist. I had to have a small procedure - a biopsy - a while ago and there was no way I could let them do it just with a local anaesthetic. A hypnotist could have helped. But I had a general anaesthetic instead. Lots of the individual members and governors I've met liked the idea. It JUST needs a little harder push. But MM I do believe that Kings' individuals - the staff and governors, are chomping at the bit to move forward but the government is that bit that just gets in the way. There were a lot of public meetings over the last few months and they have taken on board quite a few points we made which they had not thought about, and are taking them on. If the Govt lets them. But of course it's not perfect and I do agree a Leader is important. I really was impressed by the Medical Director. He still has his own clinic and yet also was the Dean and now the Medical Director. He lives in Camberwell and is passionate about his hospital.
