  1. Well thanks for the thanks! Suzilucy what a fab name and nice to know a fellow woman biker. Mine is a Virago. I would also recommend my hubbie David who maintains the 6 motorcycles we own between us and can fix pretty much anything on anyone's. As vouched by orweller on an earlier thread. Specialist tools may be a problem, but he'd let you know in advance if you needed to go elsewhere. Hope all your bikers who are coming home this evening enjoyed riding sensibly on the bus lanes! The road leading to the Oval is one I will enjoy riding legally down, and the Old Kent Road to Elephant! In fact, I'm just off up there now!
  2. My first suggestion would be to ask at the main desk (or google them) at Kings College Hospital. They must have lots of links.
  3. I am up for swapping the Roger Moore AutoBiography for.... the Tony Curtis latest one. Yes, PGC, with knitting pattern picture.
  4. Oi! Us hairies don't all have the confidence to go Sigourney Weaver bald, nor the looks to carry it off either!
  5. 8.05 Is that an actual TIME? ;) ;) Sorry to hear this, LadyGooner.
  6. Clockhouse. Corner of Barry Road and (overlooking the park on) Peckham Rye SE22
  7. Carrie! No! Well, I did leave it a bit long but I didn't realise my patronage was that important! Thanks for alerting me to this! OK - now where do I go.
  8. work work work - I do have compassion honest. It's why I just spent half an hour doing the motorcycle in bus lanes advice thread for the bikers amongst us! Has it stopped snowing? I really ought to get up and - make some coffee.
  9. Can't remember what Borough I was riding in on Saturday - Hammersmith and Fulham I think - but already the signs had been changed to show that motorcycles were allowed in the bus lanes on the TfL roads. The news items are saying "most" TfL bus lanes almost to tempt us to get fined. But anyway here is a link to the TfL bus lanes in Central London that we can now ride on And here is the South East London TfL bus lanes link that motorbikes can ride in. (They are quite large PDF files). This is the TfL Bikes in Bus lanes page itself. I appreciate the points of view of those who think that allowing us to undertake (which is technically what we are doing) the main traffic is dangerous in itself. I personally do not see it that way, but shall ride as safely and defensively as ever. Many bus lanes are only bus lanes during certain periods (7.00am to 10.00am; 4.00pm to 7.00pm for example) and myself and many other bikers I know always ride in them when we can (and even some car drivers of course!), and there has never been reports of associated carnage so it should not change now. Indeed the publicity should help. Anyway, safe riding EDFBikers! Hope all this helps. Oh finally this link from www.TheLondonBikers.com a great biking forum which I urge all motorcyclists to join! Edited to add: Motorcycle Industry Association Code of Conduct!
  10. Great being self employed, long as you have work. Woke at 9.30am and saw it snowed outside. And I honestly did think of you all who had to get up early and get on overdrowded overpriced trains and busses to get to work. Honest I did. Just work up again now. What time is it.
  11. Tina's on Grove Vale - near the little DIY shop and KwikFit.
  12. ???? I know what you mean about Broooooce (as my USA Springsteen-loving mate has it on her car's number plate) but he does a few songs which are songs of my life and I can't let go of him. I am so glad no-one has said Billy Joel for the same reason. I never really got Siousxie Sioux then heard MELT which completely changed my attitude. I'll name one though that I REALLY thought was overrated artyfarty nonsense - and I know because I sat through America Parts One Two Three AND four at Hammy Odeon in the eighties - Ladies and Gentlemen I give you (and PLEASE take her) LAURIE ANDERSON. Oh Sooooooooooooperman my arse.
  13. Which one? Just comes up with the main front page.
  14. And my back yard! Noisy sods. They are fighting with starlings and squirrels for the holes in the trees.

  16. What a lovely photo LostThePlot. Shame that Norwich Union is changing it's name to that of a bus company - or near enough that people may confuse it thus. When riding along the roads, there are too many signs. The important ones ie directions, need to be clear and big. The current new ones do just that. Except those stupidly placed behind trees!
  17. What library? They're closing!
  18. Hmmm - I'm a dog but a nice dog. Will that do? ;) ;) Woof.
  19. Oh THOSE. They're horrid. I like the newer bigger ones. I thought you were talking about the REALLY old wooden ones down in Dulwich with the hands pointing in the relevent direction. Now they're worth keeping.
  20. I used to have this pub in my Will - that when I died people should congregate there for a kneesup. I LOVED the Firkin beers and they made Dogbolter on the premises. Then it was sold to Friary Meux and was no more. So I changed my Will! The fabulous clock still dominates the interior though. May even go to this one.
  21. Is that along the lines of - YERP - how posh people say Europe.

    New Who

It's a brave move that's for sure. I was hoping for Marc Warren!
  23. Marrillion. Phil Collins. Coldplay. You leave Radiohead alone. I would die for Thom Yorke.
  24. Awful experience, glad she's safe and well, but maybe it should be reported to the police another way. Crimestoppers or something like that.
