  1. And if there was more than one edition then may be you simply got the wrong edition. So there could be hope yet.
  2. Excellent point. Of course I suppose he has. I mistakenly thought as he has not advertised Little Chef or insurance he hasn't sold out yet. But I think you're right.
  3. There is one on here who has posted stuff about a subject which it seemed clear to me he could not have experienced personally (through the way he was writing), has then PMd very offensively to me because he did not like my point of view, and yet people I have met who have met him say he's reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally nice. Interesting innit, people's personas on here and how they differ in real life.
  4. I was deeply disappointed I must say. There are just some iconic people especially from the 60s or those who made their name then anyway, who I feel should never sell out and he was one. I am not a fan of Ben Elton but it would be similar if he started advertising anything! Or Joni Mitchell. Elton John advertising the PO was understandable, he did not make his name by criticising society. Having said that, neither did Iggy. But even so...!
  5. Really beautiful. About the book; it occurred to me maybe there was more than one edition? or version?
  6. Please complete this survey if you have any opinions on the matter!
  7. "you have good access to a variety of public transport (not that I use it, but if you're that way inclined)" Louisa what the bloody hell does that mean! Sooooo funny! I am "that way inclined" to use public transport sometimes, and considering we are a tube free area it is surprisingly easy to get about. I am on the other side of the park from you, Ocean, but indeed the Clockhouse (with it's very friendly landlord Laurence) is a great local, and the park is fabulous at all times of the year. There are some lovely walks and views from round and about! Hope you enjoy life here. Oh - and I try and mix with all ages!
  8. Is that dulwichmum's ohsofunny "character" talking sh!te again? Cliquey? This place? Nahhhh
  9. Freddy with all the numbers, I agree with you. Sometimes Southwark are ahead, and bulk disposal is one area they are ahead.
  10. As I said reactive not proactive. Remember the fiasco about the graffiti Southwark did over the William Morris Angels mural? I do go to Community Councils now and again but one finds oneself sitting there wondering what bombshell they're going to land on us each time, rather than them saying,"We are thinking of doing this, do you all think it is a good idea? If not, we won't do it." I really am a dreamer.
  11. Anyway back to the Alpha curse I mean course and my previous question to the originator - of this forum topic. If you deal in legal stuff you deal in finding evidence. So what are you doing going to the Alpha Course?
  12. Oi Tilly Trotter! I wrote that back on page 2 or somewhere! Anyhow, I suppose another question to LegalEagle is - since you are in the business of LAW, proving stuff with evidence, what are you doing at the Alpha Course?
  13. Indeed, and while you're at it.... "Always look on the bright side of life...."
  14. "Why is it that some Atheists are hell bent on getting back at others who don?t share their beliefs? " Ahhahahahhahhhahaha pot kettle black Not having a God I can't say he's going to send you to hell!
  15. I went to a theatre pub at Highbury called Hen and Chickens on Saturday. I had a small glass of juice. I kid you not, Two Pounds And Six Pence, and they gave me ice so I told them to take the ice out. I don't think the pubs are more expensive in East Dulwich than most places in London.
  16. "Unexpected item in bagging area" A statement of our times.
  17. Anyone notice that the Pilot who landed his plane in the Hudson, gave a speech about how it was all a matter of circumstance. He did not mention God once. I find that so interesting! Specially since one of the people this pilot saved said at the time "everyone started praying". I think the scariest thing I have ever experienced was being close to death when ill, and I only ever prayed as a child. As an adult I just hope the doctors can save me. So I wonder if you have ever been in anything so frightening and did you pray?
  18. Idiotically found myself in the diversion there today. So sad, but this pub had a history of problems, but was essentially a beautiful building in its day. Am sure the Peckham Society will have something to say!
  19. Question: Is it going to re-open? Answer: That's a negative.
  20. I am a motorcyclist so sometimes can be seen in leather. When walking to or from the bike I do occasionally get the scary attention stuff, till they see my face then they beg me to put my helmet back on. My foot in my sexy boot twitches to kick upwards in a ball-crunching direction. The worst I got, when I was on the bike at the lights, was from a load of "bruddas" as they referred to themselves (is that sexist or racist?). They shouted out their car at me that I had no right to be on a motorcycle and to get home back to the kitchen to cook for my husband. How I laughed.
  21. I bought a copy of Lovin' You by Minnie Ripperton. And I still like it.
  22. Mo Mowlem? Oh - you said male. Sorry.
  23. Great post, Ocean. Thanks for it.
  24. Oh pleeeeeease watch this short film. It's hysterical. In my opinion.
