  1. Is that dulwichmum's ohsofunny "character" talking sh!te again? Cliquey? This place? Nahhhh
  2. Freddy with all the numbers, I agree with you. Sometimes Southwark are ahead, and bulk disposal is one area they are ahead.
  3. As I said reactive not proactive. Remember the fiasco about the graffiti Southwark did over the William Morris Angels mural? I do go to Community Councils now and again but one finds oneself sitting there wondering what bombshell they're going to land on us each time, rather than them saying,"We are thinking of doing this, do you all think it is a good idea? If not, we won't do it." I really am a dreamer.
  4. Anyway back to the Alpha curse I mean course and my previous question to the originator - of this forum topic. If you deal in legal stuff you deal in finding evidence. So what are you doing going to the Alpha Course?
  5. Oi Tilly Trotter! I wrote that back on page 2 or somewhere! Anyhow, I suppose another question to LegalEagle is - since you are in the business of LAW, proving stuff with evidence, what are you doing at the Alpha Course?
  6. Indeed, and while you're at it.... "Always look on the bright side of life...."
  7. "Why is it that some Atheists are hell bent on getting back at others who don?t share their beliefs? " Ahhahahahhahhhahaha pot kettle black Not having a God I can't say he's going to send you to hell!
  8. I went to a theatre pub at Highbury called Hen and Chickens on Saturday. I had a small glass of juice. I kid you not, Two Pounds And Six Pence, and they gave me ice so I told them to take the ice out. I don't think the pubs are more expensive in East Dulwich than most places in London.
  9. "Unexpected item in bagging area" A statement of our times.
  10. Anyone notice that the Pilot who landed his plane in the Hudson, gave a speech about how it was all a matter of circumstance. He did not mention God once. I find that so interesting! Specially since one of the people this pilot saved said at the time "everyone started praying". I think the scariest thing I have ever experienced was being close to death when ill, and I only ever prayed as a child. As an adult I just hope the doctors can save me. So I wonder if you have ever been in anything so frightening and did you pray?
  11. Idiotically found myself in the diversion there today. So sad, but this pub had a history of problems, but was essentially a beautiful building in its day. Am sure the Peckham Society will have something to say!
  12. Question: Is it going to re-open? Answer: That's a negative.
  13. I am a motorcyclist so sometimes can be seen in leather. When walking to or from the bike I do occasionally get the scary attention stuff, till they see my face then they beg me to put my helmet back on. My foot in my sexy boot twitches to kick upwards in a ball-crunching direction. The worst I got, when I was on the bike at the lights, was from a load of "bruddas" as they referred to themselves (is that sexist or racist?). They shouted out their car at me that I had no right to be on a motorcycle and to get home back to the kitchen to cook for my husband. How I laughed.
  14. I bought a copy of Lovin' You by Minnie Ripperton. And I still like it.
  15. Mo Mowlem? Oh - you said male. Sorry.
  16. Great post, Ocean. Thanks for it.
  17. Oh pleeeeeease watch this short film. It's hysterical. In my opinion.
  18. I am VERY good at minesweeper. I eat KFC about twice a year (down since I saw stuff on YouTube about them that made me cry).
  19. There are loads of ways of getting involved; the cynics amongst us say that whilst that is true, they actually take very little notice and the Community Councils are very re-active not pro-active. They even have their own forum! But those links should lead you to all you need to know. Welcome!
  20. I have been gone an hour and dammit snorky writes something that looks great then edits it out. Thanks bizzy for copying it in your post. I'm with snorky. And there MAY be something out there. We don't know everything of course. But I refuse to follow rules made by religious MAN which discriminate and ruin my life. Until we have definite proof of what "it" is, why are we allowing ourselves to be ruled and manipulated by literally blind faith? And bizzy, did your religious leaders give you permission to write that religion has taught you to think for yourself? As for the Alpha Course, it is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant, for the religious leaders, a real money spinner, and people will "flock" to it. PraiseGodSendMoney. Christian Scientists my ar$$$$e.
  21. Andy Partridge. Of XTC. Wit, raconteur, fabulous songwriter, and fatgit.
  22. Me? Brainwashed? Hahahaahahaha I went to a church school! The fact that we are all saying what we think is the case is the biggest clue yet. No-one knows for sure and we're all making it up because there's no evidence or one story to show what should be the real case. Until that happens, I'm just going to try and lead a good life because I have seen that works best, without the stick and carrot of the heaven and hill fiction!
  23. LegalEagle-ish Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If someone uses religion as their power base, that > is about their ambitions, not about Jesus. Of course! But why pray to Jesus? He was a great storyteller probably and a socialist (it would seem). He had great PR (not me!). But he was just a human being. As are we all. Being good to people for true real genuine reasons is more useful and makes you feel good. Praying to ThirdPartyGodSendMoney for other people to do good things is literally a waste of time. We are all we have that we can be sure about. If there is a God, she'll forgive me for saying it.
  24. Sighhhhh - why do people still feel the need to "pray" to ThirdPartyGodSendMoney? Why not do some volunteering, or make a cake and offer it to new neighbours, or host a monthly Networking GirlsNightIn with some new friends and work colleagues to get people meeting who would otherwise not have met. The feeling of having done good is equal to that felt - so I understand from having talked to loads of religious church-going folk - when leaving church. I write a diary every day. Maybe some day thousands of years in the future people will find them and then see me as a God. Except some people will take out all the dirty bits to suit their cause. I am a God. Pray to me. You're forgiven. There, better now? Good. Now go out and do it again. Along with air food water and clothes we humans need recreation. So because science, and EastEnders, had not been invented yet, we made God up to explain thunderstorms and rainbows, and clever enigmatic folk who were natural storytellers made up fabulous stories to back it up. When Jesus came along (and there is little doubt he did) he did the same thing, but with the help of some magic mushrooms. What else was there to do? The Wii was several years away. Now science has explained natural phenomena, we realise the stupidity of the earlier explanations while marvelling at the story telling. Our mistake is to confuse it with "truth". But along the way the religionBosses have realised what fun it is to have so much power over people. They're not giving that up in a hurry. So they indoctrinate guilt and fear into us. A mind virus. And yer got it. But that's my opinions! Edited to add - I pray to the god microbite for all the very good information and thanks!
  25. Even if you are not a Member, write to the Patients Complaints Department. If everyone of you did this, they would have to do something about it.... wouldn't they? (inflection going UP on "they")!
