  1. I am shamelessly bumping this one. I hope you all can do this form. Even if you have not seen a doctor in years it's important to those of us reliant on NHS.
  2. And I was out. Today - Sat 21st Feb 2009 Hubby was in grabbing a bite of lunch in between working for two or three of you, and I was out. Labour party rang the front door bell and had a chat to him and he said they need to worry about Boris Johnson simply because he is doing what he said he would do, and is not PC minded and not swayed by opinions, but by factual evidence etc etc. (Things, I might add, that I would have said had I been here.) Telling them he was in a hurry they said they had Harriet Harman downstairs if he would like to meet her. They didn't specify whether they'd abducted her and stuffed her into the boot of the car or what, but I digress. I am on the east side of Peckham Rye. Did anyone meet the lady and tell her what they think?

    Wormery

My next door neighbours got one from the council, and it was a total disaster even though we obeyed the rules and did not put citrus stuff in it. There were little flies everywhere and it just stank. And yes, the worms died.
  4. There was indeed a separate form you could sign which was given to me at my Doctors at Nunhead Surgery - please go there or phone them on 020 7639 2715 to ask how to get a copy.Thank for adding the link to the online forms above. Do please remember to also fill out the PCT form on the other link I started.
  5. But what about poor / elderly / confused people? You're talking only from your own point of view. Elderly people calling call centres when they just want to talk to a doctor? At my practice Nunhead Surgery they are REALLY keen to remain personal and keep the human touch as well as their own phone number.
  6. Oh cool! Then we could send them out under diff names! I will do that if I get sent more hard copies.
  7. OK found it. Complain HERE
  8. OK so I found it for you. THIS is the link to the Southwark's Primary Care Trust website.THIS is the link to the ONLINE form. Don't just whinge on EDF, if every single person who responded argued to PCT against 084x numbers, do you think they'd listen? Well, fill out the form, anyway.
  9. This is a copy of a post I posted on a similar thread but is relevant here: I may start a new thread about this, but basically the Southwark PCT (Primary Care Trust) are asking for feedback about their plans (already probably done and dusted) to install four PolyClinics (though they've given them a new name) in Southwark; one in Dulwich, one in Elephant, and I can't remember where the other two are. Rotherhithe and Borough maybe. Anyway, I argued against it because my GPs (Nunhead Surgery) are brilliant, run by caring humans who won't happily transfer to 084x phone numbers and who are independent. But you may have other opinions. I don't have time right now but I am sure if you go into the Southwark PCT website you can get a form sent to you to comment on. And maybe at the surgery itself you can ask for one. NOTE there are TWO questionnaires (again I don't have time to search right now but if you feel really strongly enough about it and strongly enough to complain at the target and not just on here!) one about the polyclinics and one about the 084x numbers.
  10. Good point. Some of you should PM jumpinjourno!
  11. And you could raise the issue here as parking will indeed be discussed.
  12. Yes, specially cnuts corner which I absolutely loved.
  13. There's a major BBC historical drama series being filmed. I am not saying the pirate has anything to do with it.
  14. karter. I don't. I should, but I don't. I am self employed and usually work evenings. But I should be working at home and often come in here instead. You're right. I'm leaving!
  15. I agree, really. I subscribe to a professional magazine which has just decided to stop prodcing, and go online. I am really irritated by that because with a magazine full of articles, you can read one at your leisure, put down the mag, read it again the next day maybe in the loo or bath, go back to it again and read the same article again. On line I just read what I need to, and don't want to go back to it because I am always looking on line at things (like being here!) and look for excuses to pull myself away. A local newspaper would be of interest but I do not like Southwark News or South London press because about 75% of them is advertising and they are all a bit tabloidese and not exactly in depth reporting. What I want is an Independent or Guardian for Southwark. Is that too much to ask for? Yeah, course.
  16. To SeanMacGabhann - would you buy me a pint?
  17. But the point about blind people is that they don't necessarily know they have crossed into a road, whereas if they step (or fall) down off the pavement they know the situation. But I do think that if more of these were put in to place all at the same time across London, there would be major publicity about it and that would be a good thing. I can't wait to see the Exhibition Road example start and was amazed at the news the other night saying that it was going to cost (was it millions?) a lot of money to do it. Just get rid of the signs, smooth the edge of the pavement to blend in with the road, and remember and abide by the first rule of the road. Which is???
  18. To david_carnell Let us know if you get an interview or even the job (I got the tattoo yesterday)!
  19. Indeed, and whilst the raised pavement bits and central reservationh bits still exist, much of Walworth Road was designed along these lines in that there should be no signs everywhere. One of the councillors who posts on here told us about the hassle he faced trying to get Walworth Road plan proved. My main problem with it is that as the road area itself is quite narrow, bikers and cyclists can't over take stationery traffic and busses as easily and safely. I often ride around Sloane Square and I do like the design, but I do truly want to know what the answer is to the blind people* who raised the points they raised in the news reports. *Or whatever the pc people would say.
  20. I agree my "Brilliant" post was a bit tongue in cheek which - as I was writing as it was on - was a bit pointless. Anyway, I was also disappointed in the end, because Dimbleby himself was a bit sneering I felt. As for Piers Morgan, whilst I agree about the negative points made about him, I sometimes feel that if most MPs could get away with it, they would say a lot of the same things but for their imposed political correctness constraints.
  21. But I read all about that on here! And the spelling's better too!
  22. A Liquorish kebab?
  23. If you are sure it was just one minute over, and you find it is true they should have waited 5 minutes, then at the very least ask for confirmation of the calibration of the timing device used to show the time.
  24. Disappointed in the end, and the crap spoken about Peckham. Still I bet louisa was pleased.
